I felt Stowers was the obvious Eagles choice and fit at TE. He converted to TE not very long ago. So always understanding he was the more developmental option….with unbelievably high ceiling! He hasn’t looked anywhere near ready though. Like not even dress on gameday actually real possible.

Hard to judge a coach in the preseason though because you know they are keeping a really basic vanilla offense very little value putting film out there for other teams to use against you

I was a bit dismayed that even with 3,s that 2 vet QB's could not move the team. They both actually had decent protection in pass pro from our BU O line. Doesn't matter much where you call the plays from if the players aren't going to execute

So I might be just a walking striking out O-for this season.

Another added perk of being in the booth is having Vic up there…. Get some extra insight from Vic on the defenses Mannion is facing could aid him greatly

I do think Mannion being a former player will favor the sideline more as a play caller but I do like that he is being open minded and giving both a shot to see what suits him better

Agreed, this is the time to experiment. We should know his decision in pre 3. Something to keep an eye on

You beat me to it LOL. Vic has seen about every offense there is and recognizing the D's he could blab to Mannion. actually I would hope this is already being done in camp

Ty Robinson had a much needed good game. Flipped him from just outside looking in…to being on the roster. Gabe Hall maybe his main competition.

I doubt we will play the starters v the Pats especially since we are doing joint practices but again I would like the see the 1s out there for a series or two.

Answers of countering those D being faced would be enormous!

Vic kept his own analytics so tight he claims not a single other soul is aware of them. So it’s a very interesting dynamic of just how far he’ll ’help out.’

Mannion doesn’t work out? Highly likely he gets a job opposing Fangio right away for the next few years. Mostly NFC options…you’d think.

Both on to an excellent benefit potentially!

I liked your Stowers pick. Great call. As a former QB he would understand what it takes to give QB's a window. I don't suspect he makes any impact immediately without a Goedert injury but certainly expect him to see some "relief" snaps down the road. I was all over the place with TE's this past draft having no clue where we would take one. I think ultimately Stowers will outplay Sadiq

For me it just goes all into learning curve acceptability time framing. Couldn’t understand judging Moore in the circumstances based on 3 games so massively. Really feeling the key is just how far we can develop and adapt…as fast as possible. Basically what’s the timeframe looking to be as it unfolds?

Think I remember you , FL, also being in favor of Stowers. We kind of all were. Especially after his tested measurable athleticism. Blew the doors off!

What I enjoyed seeing was the non skill position guys stepping up into challenge roles. Lampkin, Bell looked fine as BU's. LB's starting to look better as a room too. Really, at CB, we need additional BU help. Maybe we find one as other teams cut down. Still wish they would expand the roster to 56. When they decided on 53, there weren't even enough players to fill that, but now there was a HUGE expansion of talent in the last decade. I'm glad they expanded the PS, but now they need to go 56 on the rosters IMO

But also Stowers looking so far from ready. Sadly looking likely to get injured being mauled by these NFL freaks he’ll face. He’s got to add that NFL body. Willing blocker….but getting overwhelmed attempting currently.

Lampkin really a great addition. Had the foresight with him. Not your prototype NFL player along the Oline. But heck….seems like entire team already understands he’s good. Giving Dline problems. That’s saying something against those enormous Moving Mountains!

How many depth options does those version of our Eagles have? Behind with just everybody being healthy….who deserves getting in rotations and looks? Trot? Smael? Carter? Epenesa?

I’m not sold on S/Slot Carter yet. Always felt like a backup more quality wise to me. Be nice if I’ve been wrong there. But at least he should know Fangio’s D enough at this point going forward.

Mac McWilliams I just can’t shake the Avonte Maddox vibes. So super similar. He had strong moments supposedly on TC so far. But was targeted as a weakness against the Ravens. Just absolutely understand it’s really not fair at all for me to lump Mac to Avonte really at all. Just admitting can’t help it…doubt I’m the only one. Avonte coaches backed and backed….versatility…scrappy….but reality just was a guy highly invested years in familiar with D…but never panned out. Really Avonte instead just always was targeted throwing high in him…and some bad injury timeline coinciding.

Mac more solid than Avonte I believe…but 5’10”. Both very athletic and can jump. Supposedly to combat high deficiency. But really it seems most any QB getting the start in the NFL can produce based on having confidence and a plan. Mediocre QBs boosted with belief and confidence they can complete passes targeted short DB. My opinion that’s a factor. QBs fear hinders them while confidence makes them better.

All reports were the operation ran smoothly. I know maybe I’m reaching for small positives. But think that’s actually as significant as it could get surrounding Eagles O. Bunch of coaches never really been together under Mannion. Substitutions and playcalling went well.

Bar actually that low. Under Patullo and Siri O really been breaking huddle so late. Predictable playcalling combined with rushed snap. Barely surveying the field as much as just trying to tee the plays off.

Mannion they all mentioned has a rhyme and reason going on. A scheme. Think the O being capable of surveying the D and adapting/adjusting just a huge boost.
