I didn’t see that Sweat took any paycut. Saw other teams league wide were interested in paying him even more. So saw what we did was guarantee him money because he didn’t have much guaranteed money left in his contract.

Yes...taking less pay..  you win the semantics game...  he took less to play here.

If it was a business decision long term on his part.... then you understand it's why Queen wasn’t going to leave Baltimore last year.

We have record setting pass rush…then a convulted messed up coaching hierarchy clearly derailed all team unity.

He was ranked fourth in creating Oline holding penalties. That obviously usually is done when a player is beat. Those holds are what the Oline did instead of let him get that clear win towards sacking the QB.

Again... similar to Dallas...who dominate the bad competition. Sweat fell off when the competition stepped up.

Reading up on Sweat situation.... dude taking huge pay cut to stay, really shows his opinion of the organization... owner,GM, coaches etc.

The culture that has been built up for a player in his prime age turning down that money to stay on a team where his role is going to be diminished and have a lesser chance to earn the big money the rest of his career.

That's a statement to how players feel about playing here.

Fill me in on this huge paycut. Not what I read. But I did read he had larger offers he turned down to stay:

Why would Fields accept BU pay?? I wouldn't if I were him. Just because he had a trash O line in Chicago doesn't mean he can't start somewhere

He’s under contract still. But he can only get what is offered. Nobody clearly jumped at him as the big QB target available. Everybody listed off Fields trade wasn’t a thought or happening until Cousins, Mayfield, Minshew and I think one other QB chose locations.

What record was set?

Wake up about 2022... the schedule was pathetic.   Sweat is a dude that gets his stats vs bad competition.

The Eagles apparently made a business decision.  Obviously the compensation they were going to receive wasn't worth it.  They decided to restructure to save the cap space and look to get the comp pick.  What does that tell you?

He isn’t a Franchise QB. What I’ve been trying to tell you guys all along. Several here tried to compare him to being Hurts. They hate on our guy but see something in Fields. Makes no sense to me.

Of course he could start somewhere though. But that doesn’t mean he’s a QB worth any team commiting to and building around.

Lol.... you do your job.  You have a sum of money that you would be offered for it.   You take less to do same job.  That's a pay cut.

You choose to make less money for same job .... whatever semantics you want to spin ( as per usual)   it's a pay cut.

No comparison here. You took one bad point…tried to use it to cover up the other bad point you made.

Dude ...are you that self absorbed???  Really?    Who here ever said Fields was a franchise QB?

Wow... why are you so narcissistic?

Yeah... I'm sure everyone here agrees

Only a team that had cap room would have traded for Queen. Only a team contending would want to make that trade. So those factors negate most of the league as options. We were the most glaring and obvious team fit and need to make that trade.

I heard more than one fan here talking about how he was so much like Hurts and such,

Seemingly heard nothing but excuses for Fields of why it’s his teams fault always instead of him.

Sweat fell off like the whole team did

A paycut is when you are under contract and accept to take less than you have the leverage and right to fight to get.

He moved his money to benefit him massively in being much more guaranteed.

I still have Powers Johnson as the 22

I'm thinking we move up from 22.

I was simply alone in my opinion of Fields not being a franchise QB.

You just try to break me down with that label. Doesn’t apply again though:

Same guys that dog everything on Hurts pumped up Fields as the same player. All those fans here have been wrong so consistently the whole time on both guys. Probably something very telling here on what they missing about leadership and championship traits.

We lost Opeta.

Who pumped up Fields?   Dude hasn't done anything yet????

Exactly. Yet Cook, FL and another kept comparing him to Hurts. Just saying he didn’t have a team around him enough is only reason he was having any less success.
