Resigning Becton would be huge though it’s difficult because so is Sweat, Baun and Williams and realistically I’m not sure we can keep all of them.

Then there’s Isaiah Rodgers

Fair point but then could Steen step in? I think he could?

I think they’ll bring him back with Slay unlikely to be back. But I mean who knows what he’s going to ask for?

We have Steen. Brought in Kinnard and Gates. Been training Toth for years. Drafted Keegan. So have a few G options in house.

Could have quite the Compensatory pick haul situation setup here. Some top FA signings we could lose. But you can’t sign other FAs ourselves to take full advantage. Not until basically after the main FA periods are completely done. Can do trades however.

Say we trade for Garrett giving up our 32nd overall first rounder…. and a fourth and fifth rounder next draft. Those we’d  be gaining by losing Milton and Sweat through Compensatory gains. Just a thought.

Like I was breaking down all the ways the choice between Slay and Rodgers can be viewed. These young kids really look up to Slay. Ringo, Ricks, Q, Coop…..he wants to play one more season. So how Rosie manages that will be more than just noticed. But you know Slay was mentoring these guys how this is such a business also. Pure business without perceptions and feelings involved…I’d move to Rodgers and dump Slay.

Nolan rocks their big time G trying to pull and block him! Yeah that running lane doesn’t exist.

Was trying to find Bryce Huff’s SB highlights. Let you know when I find them.

It’s the QBs fault according to your takes

Eagles only team to beat Vince Lombardi,Bill Belicheck and Andy Reid in a championship game.

Hassan Reddick the #56 ranked free agent. Dude is gonna get paid... Howie messed up!

Elite pass protection from our guys... video of Dickerson lining up vs Jones, passing him on to Mailata and then doing a 360 spin to block the stunting edge rusher.   Great stuff.

I don't see , nor did I ever see Sweat or Williams coming back.   Williams would have been done before the season, it's obvious he was playing for the big contract.... yet in the classy and humble...unselfish way ... not becoming a cancer like his previous teammate.

I just think it's a lock he earned a bigger pay day, especially after the SB.

Baun and Becton will be interesting... the case can be made that they benefitted by being in the exact situation with the Eagles.  So who knows, price may not be as high.

Oh…he didn’t even dress for the game…ouch!

Baun is interesting in that... if we resign him, that shows a change in organizational philosophy towards the LB position.

Talks of Trotter being ready to play... it still feels like all the other guys are more traditional MLBs... assignment guys...where Baun seems to be the all around playmaker.

For me, I like the playmaker type because they are rare.  The other guys, the better they play the less you notice them... with Baun, the better he plays the more he stands out!

Just phenomenal job to ALL the Eagles organization for accomplishing the goal that matters... winning the Superbowl.

Congrats to Howie and Siri for creating the winning culture.  You hear stories of how this team really enjoys each other.  How much they enjoy playing here.

Emmitt smith talking about how Jimmy Johnson moved on from his first OC with the Cowboys to get a guy that fit his personnel much better and hired Norv. Even though they went from 1 win…to 7 wins…Jimmy Johnson realized it wasn’t going to be enough and the right fit.

Becton is also a BU T

Glad you don't work for the Chiefs

After the 2017 SB Howie got a little bit too sentimental with guys. Slay has kind of defied his years a little but that drop will come and I just don’t think we can afford to bring him back because I do think you’d need to bring Rodgers back with him as cover. But it is a really difficult decision so I’m glad I’m not the one making it.

Slay gave us some quality play. Already had made his reputation. Clearly these young guys will be watching how we treat that veteran big time player that pushed through injuries….as a true pro. Won the Championship with. Are we going to honor his last season?

Technically you could say we have Ringo as cover to take over for the old playmaker Slay here his final season. If Rodgers, like assumed, gets paid and leaves.

Ringo looks pretty darn good too

https://theeagleswire.usatoday.com/lists/philadelphia-eagles-updated-pending-free-agents-2025/?itm_source=parsely-api  Slay also wants his last season to he here(thanks to the culture). He with many others would need to take pay cuts. Be nice to hold on to as many as possible. Perhaps if you are Howie you offer a reduced pay to play this last season with an offer of becoming an employee of the staff. Job security is always enticing
