He could become a real monster player for us. Huge…with the great wing span. He’s my guy…but we need other answers just for 2025 I’m leaning to believe still.

Two or three years. Now I guess if you believe he will start at RG immediately. But that isn’t a pressing need. RG isn't a pressing need? Steen got beat out by Becton,so you are really settling there IMO

He’s plenty ready to roll. Then we just traded for a first round G in Kenyon Green also.

March 22, 20251 yr Keegan coming into his second year I heard nothing but good things about last season well. He’s powerful dude!
March 23, 20251 yr Were so good at wearing opponents down last season Becton made easy sense being how big he is. But it’s not like Steen is tiny he’s 6’6” 321 pounds!

Does that mean he plays them all out? He is older now. Retirement looms on the horizon. Would you rather he retire in 2 years and have NO ONE on your roster. Rooks are 5 year contracts(well 4 and the option) so they know they have sit even if chosen in round 1. So if the talent of the FUTURE is there, you can't pass on that. Bringing in 1 year "show me" guys won't get it done unless you pay BIG for a free agent. Which is the most cap friendly choice to you? Stoutland takes "regular guys" makes them effective and they move on to other teams for comps picks, but that's not how you do it if you want to secure a spot for a decade(or more). If you wait until the very end for Lane, you are putting in a green rookie to learn on the job and that's not going to help Hurts or the running game. Let the kid come in and learn from the best in the biz at his craft. I would have NP waiting 2-3 years on rook pay for a guaranteed big contract for 1 years later. You are a young man, what is his best move long term?

But it’s not like Steen is tiny he’s 6’6” 321 pounds! SO maybe the G position is slowly becoming extinct in favor of 2 T's. Howie will take C/G's and G/T's because he knows they have versatility in a pinch rather than straight C's or G's so possibly he is trying to do that by taking T's and letting them play at G which is why if we took a T in round 1,you have that option to let them play beside Lane for awhile. IDK, all I know if there is an outstanding player while you are on the clock and they are by far the BPA, you don't let those go. I have no clue what their board is or how intent they are to get someone they like, but we know Howie plays the draft as well as anyone and gets some amazing deals(see DeJean) I have to trust Howie because his drafts have been excellent(not perfect but damn good) for the last 4 years
March 23, 20251 yr Author I believe we are still a "QB factory" We put confidence back into Picketts game. Enough that he went elsewhere after failing in Pitts. Our O line makes QB's look so good. Howie saw McKee budding as I did. Even as the 2 he should get a few chances to bloom. If he blossoms if Hurts goes down, there is another QB we can sell off because I would love to see McKee play with the 1's. There are a few late QB's in this draft worth of a look in round 5. Bring them along as we have done with others. I would have NP at all if we took Riley Leonard(ND) off the board with a 5 pick. Dude has serious upside and I'd love to add him to the QB room
March 23, 20251 yr Author 5 minutes ago, GreenbleedinNC said: https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Riley-Leonard-QB-Duke BTW he gave OSU all they could handle in the title game. Howard(OSU QB) will go ahead of him, but sadly(or not) that is a mistake I hope someone makes that leaves Leonard for us. He was the better QB in that game, but OSU has the better O players. He would give McKee an immediate run for the #2 job. I would love to have both of them in my QB room. It's a win/win as one or the other will become trade bait in the future

He would have to fall to me at 32. I still believe we trade out of round 1 altogether, but that is just me. Howie will move up if it's his guy As I said this kid would have to fall to me at 32. I would not move up for him,but if he is there I don't see how you pass. The other option is trading out of 1 altogether which I believe is what we will do. There is major talent in rounds 2-3. Some are round 1 talents that will fall into 2 by virtue of the annual QB and WR runs. Plus you get additional picks(which Howie loves to have in his pocket). No need to pay for round 1 talent when you can get them in round 2 with extra picks. I have run numerous mocks showing this is the way to go. We have no SERIOUS holes, we are shopping for the future this draft. This draft is chock full of talent that can be brought along. The only possible move UP I can see is Howie going for the top TE talent, but that's a huge move I don't think he makes. I DO believe we bring a TE in. I'm still SMH over Mason Miller who has no info to be found but is a viable O lineman. I hope he stays under the radar so we can grab him late(I have no cue where he would go, my guess is round 4. Actually i will say it's a good linemen draft with only a few standout skill position guys that will go in 1,so that leaves alot of guys around in 2-3 to be molded into starters

March 23, 20251 yr Author https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Darius-Alexander-DT-Toledo If we trade out of 1(aka letting Nolen go),this kid should be a target. I believe this is what we will do while adding more picks. Just need to find that trade partner LOL

March 23, 20251 yr Author Sav would be our starting OG(BU T), Pierce would be the project to replace Lane(maybe, but we need to start looking for that guy) Shough would be a nice QB3(although I wanted Leonard who went 2 picks before me lol) Mills and Williams both nice upside projects for the future. Princely, Taylor and Carter can all contribute immediately or soon. Also picked up the Jets 2026 4th. So moving down seems the way to go
