All good points, but they are tangential (external) to the original point Ham and I were discussing … prospects who were identified as Draft sleepers. Once the Draft is completed there aren’t any sleepers. All the prospects are now either drafted players, or UDFAs committed to a team, or those who missed the boat entirely. A synonym for "sleeper” arguably is”dark horse”

I agree with Ham that APR qualified as a dark horse coming into the Draft. Mondon was never a dark horse.

Regarding "leading” the Defense, how was he able to do that? When they were on the field he wasn’t. When he was on the field they weren’t. They were effectively ships passing in the night. The leadership of the D came from Fangio up in the Booth, and the Defensive players down on the sidelines.

I also never did either, but that isn’t unusual for the vast majority of ILBs. It is a low leverage position. NFL.com had him ranked 106 (4th Round) Draftek had him at 100. Most of the Draft simulators, who aggregate all the various sources, had him going in the 4th as well.

was speaking purely about depth. Starting five is fine. Actually seeming like stud Oline starters aren’t healthy and making it through all season at top form. Dickerson hasn’t been right yet. Lane is in his twilight. Cam seems to be playing through issues fairly routinely.

CBs past their 30th birthday are generally risky bets.

"sleeper" is a mere guess word. A sleeper for one team could be ignored by another. It's why Howie makes his moves. All rankings are "official guesses" Nothing more than that. All boards differ. You can pick whichever you like, their "sleepers" will be different than the other 400 boards

Agreed in principle, but Draftnicks look at the Draft holistically … in aggregate … so those different Boards are blended into the single perspective of the individual Draftnick.
