BTW, Gainwell was the starter for the Jets.

That would be a trick since he doesn’t even play for them.

Steelers who played the Jets. Brain fart.

Zach Berman shared some insights into what the team is thinking when it comes to fullback. Philly could be looking into either tight ends Kylen Granson or Cameron Latu to fill that spot.

Byron Young isn’t as good as Gabe Hall against the run. The guy to backup Jordan Davis…or even pair with Davis for short yardage and goaline.

I mean wouldn’t you want Young to come in to pass rush for Davis not take Davis off the field for a lesser run defender.

If you want to pair with Davis for short yardage Carter, Smith Orjomo

A script’s primary purpose is reconnaissance/education, and whether it produces scores or not depends on the players’ execution of their assigned roles, both as individual players and as a unit. In the first drive the pass plays in the script succeeded in their reconnaissance intention/purpose by illuminating what Defensive scheme the Cowboys were deploying. However, the actual execution of their scripted pass pattern by AJ and Devonta did not produce any separation that Hurts could exploit. But the scripted play also showed how the Cowboys were deploying their D-Line, and Hurts was able to exploit the identified weakness in that deployment and pick up the scramble yards and first downs needed to keep the drive alive.

In effect we got our cake and the opportunity to eat it too.

There was no script according to our OC. Rethink this post. It is irrelevant to Thursday's game abd what occurred. No recon...due to no script.

Gabe Hall..he’s one of our best run stuffers. Guess he’s not even on the team currently actually.

Recon is occurring regardless…whether you have a good plan and script or not. Adjustments should be made accordingly.

"He did okay. He had a couple major busts that hurt us and could have hurt us even more. So, looking for him to improve this next week."

Is he better than Jordan Davis???? I’m going to bet he isn’t better than Smith or Carter…. Maybe orjomo…. So 4th best???? Again why would you take Davis off the field for Hall???? No you would want to take Davis off for a better pass rusher.

Again Gabe Hall is likely the 5th best run defender on this team behind Davis, Carter, Orjomo(is considered a strong run defender), Smith…. I’d rather have these 4 guys on the field before Gabe Hall against the run.

How many snaps has Hall played in an NFL regular season or playoff game?

As in scoring 3 TDs to start.

Ham just wants Davis off the team... he wanted the safety from Baltimore so we will never hear the end of it...similar to years of crucifying Lane at the start of his career because he wanted Ziggy Anzah. Ziggy was all we heard, Lane needed steroids was so unreliable etc. That first game he struggled vs KC, we heard that for 3 years.

Davis will either be overpaid or once he leaves we get " I called it"

Same crap over and over

Davis has the extra value of trying to keep Carter in line has been my consistent opinion.

I hadn’t heard that. Interesting.

The principle is correct, but the application to Thursday’s events is incorrect.

I wonder why no script?

Great assessment of our D-Line. Thoughts?

Zadarius Smith takes his place as a 3/4 DE. Edge is the wrong term a 274 pound DE. The DEs are basically Ojomo, ZS, Robinson (when he is ready) and Young. ZS and OO are more DE than OLB when the Eagles go light and both can probably play BG "DT”. (Although OO has played some OLB). Ojomo, Robinson and Young also can line up in traditional DT alignments. Vic loves diversity.

Tank is the BVS replacement, ZS is the Gabe Hall replacement. Cue some Beat to say Tank isn’t a FB and ZS is a pass rush specialist.

Robinson isn't strong enough to line up as a DT, you could see that in the exhibition games - which is why he isn't dressing right now. Needs a year in the weight room.

Young is more of a DT than Ojomo, Smith can fill the BG role and move inside on obvious passing downs.

Hall was the odd man out b/c they're in 4-2-5 more often than 3-4 sets, so they need depth at DT.

That was my original post ...lol. that there was no script Thursday. It's been discussion on local radio today....the script vs no script...Any internal discipline for Carter... Adam Shefter was on, he makes a regular guest appearance each week... discussed how Tank was originally part of the Fred Johnson trade.

You won't hear as much unless you arr able to go online or use Siri or Alexa... and go to 97.5 " the fanatic" or 94.1 W.I.P. Sports radio.

24 hour sports talk. All the Eagles insiders have spots on these stations including Siri each week.

How about his value as a stud run stuffer?

Think it's really not a good assessment at all.

Think the DL is fairly simple to break down

Orjomo/Carter are your DEs with Smith and Young behind them

Davis is your NT going to be on the field on the early downs to stop the run

Early downs Orjomo/Davis/Carter to focus on stopping the run… Smith/Carter/Young trio to get after the QB… Carter gets moved around to get the best matchup

Also have to add the Tank as a BVS replacement is a terrible take as well…. BVS replacement going to be Granson they also mentioned Latu possibly as a call up.

Even looking at the RBs if we wanted to go that route I’d lean toward Dillion as a FB before Tank… Dillion is 6ft 250 good pass protector, good hands, powerful runner just no clue if he can lead block.

Yet Gainwell was out on the field for key plays on the first Pittsburgh drive... must be Tomlin forcing him in the lineup same way Siri forced him in.

Those damn coaches don't know anything

The clear focus for Bigsby seems to be taking advantage of the new KO rules and trying to get splash plays from him… dude avg. 32 yards a return in his small sample 4-5 yards better then anyone we have had back returning KO.

On top of that strong runner 4.6ypc last year just under 800 yards 7 tds and solid hands…. His only real weakness it seems is his pass protection and now he gets to learn from 2 very good RBs in pass protection in Barkley and Dillion
