The Cowboys acquired eight draft picks through the trade, including Minnesota's next three first-round picks and next three second-round picks.

There was also no salary cap to worry about then. Plus look at all the players they got. 4 for 1 so it's not like they just gave picks away, so we ask once again what is the scenario for each team you claim is "needy" where they can't use their HIGH PICK in round 1 on a QB? Hurts was a round 2,so they can find them there also, McKee was a round 6 as was Tom Brady. If a team got Hurts, they best have a great O line or he becomes RG3 and if in fact they HAD that great O line I'm sure they could get a rookie QB in any of the 5 following drafts,so it would make no sense to me. So you get Hurts and for 5 years you have to dig through barrels to find weapons for him(assuming they have an O line to start with) That is some heavy lifting. As I said I will take 12 round 1's since it went from3 to 5 quickly,I will hold out for 12,so apparently my 12 Trumps your "undervalued" 5 you hater

Your answer shows just how much of a Hurts Hater you are.

I don't hate Hurts, but a ream job is a ream job in business

Would you rather have Steen or Becton at RG? We are thin at ROT. That right side needs addressed IMO. Toth can be a BU at either G spots

Steen PFF grade at 68 Becton at 75

Becton got those clear pancake moments though

There was a whole discussion about how opposite our O scheme is versus the Pack O. Kind of almost a feeling of maybe a bit scheme heavy with the Pack versus us having such a weak scheme under Siri

LaFleur and Siri two top young HCs. This is the price it year for LaFleur and Love.

Does it matter who starts? Snap counts should be considered more important.

That's where my thought was. I don't care if Fred Flintstone starts.

Depends on if we found a coherent CB2 or not. If we can't put it off another year then CB would seem the logical choice. If we went CB first I like Colton Hood from Tennessee Pick your order CB, Oline, TE, edge in any order. We could actually use a rook RT AND RG. Need that right side going forward. Lane is not going to last forever. I would have NP luring Becton back at RG

The guy we shouldn’t have let go was Isaiah Rodgers. We already had found the guy that proved a quality fit in Fangio D. Picked up Adoore. Traded for Bennett. Traded for Carter. Traded for Jaire. Still very likely an issue.

Nice find.

I trust our scouting to find OUR style TE late day 2 or thereabouts.

All depends on this class. I admit haven’t weeded through it all yet. But really would consider the big guy I posted the article about in the first. The prevailing thinking is this is a good healthy draft class this year…as opposed to last draft.

Almost as unreal as our fan base still talking about him

It’s great to have such a quality option just waiting for us to feel the need to snag him.

What "detailed eval was" this? What did I miss and when did I miss it? Joe and I were doing evals every season(nearly weekly) and called "haters" because we pointed out Hurts screw ups. The fact we both pointed out what needed fixed and the fact they were fixed and Hurts finally got things together and matured and stopped the bonehead plays last year, proves that we were both right all along. No "he carries the other 52" , no "he is a god that does no wrong" ,no "he sucks because of bad coaching", neither of us would lower our bar to make excuses, we both held firm in what we needed to see. And there were 2 constants in all this 1) the best surrounding cast a QB could ask for 2) Siri. Not in SPITE of Siri, not in SPITE of the best surrounding cast. I'm glad Hurts progressed to the point Joe and I held firm on and now we have a complete QB (still a weaker arm relatively but he excels in other areas). Posting an article from others is YOUR "detailed eval"? LMAO. Joe and I didn't need articles from others. Nice job Joe, glad you held your bar as high as I did. 2 things remain going forward, and they are both the same 2 things. I have no real demands or complaints of Hurts now, he is an excellent QB. As far as Patullo, he started slow, but I suspect he had his reasons. No one wants to tank a SB team into an abyss, thus the rather mundane play calls. Patullo now seems to understand he needs to keep all facets of the offensive play makers involved. he went from conservative to a bit too pass happy, but he will nail down the happy medium we need. Right now, I have no reason to "evaluate" Hurts. Just keep doing what you are doing because there is not much to evaluate. He will keep fine tuning whatever he chooses to work on. I didn't know your name was Jonny Page before or that you posted for the Eagles as I see that underlined.

Yeah you both were really correct on Hurts isn’t a starting QB. No MAs nailed his call of Hurts would never win a SB. You both dogged Hurts for not throwing over the middle…blaming him when it clearly was the flaw Rosie couldn’t get right. Moore got Hurts throwing over the middle some…just by moving Smitty in the Slot some. Amazing how production tends to follow decent productive players…that can actually catch. So surprising with WR known as blockers in the slot production wasn’t off the charts, not!

Seems to be like you both were so consistently and incredibly wrong almost the whole way with this player. Trying to even remember or figure out what I stated that hasn’t turned out to prove completely spot on!

If the Eagles win the SB this season and Hurts is the SB MVP for a second time, what does that make his trade value for a QB needy team? 3 First Rounders?

Great question…how many draft picks would you need to receive to give up on our greatest ever dynasty run?

We gave up a three for the Edge we got…Hendrickson is a proven consistent stud. Second round pick was a very good deal. How much did Kahilil Mack get traded for again?

The fans would indeed go ballistic, but neither Lurie nor Roseman make decisions based on the fans.

Now with respect to the Cap hit, below are the 2026 and 2027 Cap hit pages from Spotrac. $45 million of Dead Cap in a 2027 trade and $65 million in a 2026 trade. However, as we saw in the Phillips trade the Cap hit amount can be negotiated, with one or the other of the teams agreeing to assume more than the standard Cap hit amount. I can easily see Howie negotiating a trade in 2026 where the acquiring team picks up $20 million of the $65 million so that the net Eagles hit in 2026 terms is the same as it would be in 2027 terms.

In another thread the projections have been four 1st Round picks and even five 1st Round picks as the likely offers.

What is your goal as a GM? As long as it’s not chasing greatness and championships? Then trade away the best ever franchise QB on a potential HOF track…already proven himself on the biggest stages that he not only doesn’t shrink…he thrives!!!

So one thing we know: whomever we traded Hurts to would be a playoff team for all those first round picks we would receive.

Who said Hurts wasn't a starting QB?? When did I say this? When we had Wentz and Hurts was doing 3 plays a game?? When Wentz left Hurts was automatically the starter?? How could anyone claim he wasn't a starter?? Did Hurts have issues when he started?? Or did he just magically come out perfected?? You MISTAKE CRITICISM for HATE and it's a very STUPID flaw in your thought process besides making up things people never said because of your Hurts agenda

Some of the posters argued for 5, one more than 4. "Howie has said previously that every player has a price… except for franchise QB. If you have a franchise QB you know can start for you for a long time, then even 5 first round picks still isn’t enough. It’s not about whether or not Hurts is worth 5 1sts, it’s about where your team is at after you lose him" and "I would think even right now his value should be more than 3 firsts without knowing the intricacies of his contract. They just supposedly offered 3 firsts for a 30 year old DE. If he was superbowl mvp again his value would be so high to the Eagles no team would offer what that would take."

The answer to your question is "a QB-hungry team"

I’d think most teams would pay that for Hurts

A 3rd is the same as 3- 1's??? Sure Hendrickson is a stud, but a defense takes more than 1 player. If a 2nd was a good deal why didn't cincy make the deal?? because NO ONE offered a 2nd. Out of 31 teams no team even offered a THIRD. Why do I give a crap that the Chargers gave up so much for Mack? Did they win a SB after they got him?

Article after article about wondering why Hurts didn't throw in the middle(and it was his fault).  This was a recent upgrade by Hurts going to the middle for once(started last year) Part of the growth I needed to see to call hm a complete QB and I never lowered my bar
