April 24Apr 24 So early reactions are that Lemon is regarded as a great value pick by us seems like lot of analysts had him as arguably a top 2 WR in this class. Also was said he was on the list of players the Eagles FO valued enough to trade up for

You follow yet.... the Eagles stole Lemon from them.I know you are draft expert... but that's what happened. Pittsburgh was going to select Lemon...not whatever tier OL.I am no expert, I am rarely correct LOL, but a few things dawned on me overnight. I will try to explain why I like and dislike the pick. I like the pick because 1) I realized(after I calmed down) this pick was NOT about Hurts getting another ring. This was about getting another QB a ring(wink, wink). 2) I watched him some last night after the draft, something I did not do before, because WR in round 1 was totally out of my mind. I DID watch Denzel Boston alot, who is still not drafted who would be a better replacement for AJ, then we got Wicks and the other FA's, so round 1 WR just vanished from my process. The kid is good, smooth, very good route runner and he did remind me of a not quite as good JJ(which this will show up in my dislike of the pick) 3) He has a terrific attitude, very good culture pick. Why I am neutral on the pick. 1) I figured we were moving up for Iheanchor, most mockers had us taking him, so I was not alone at all 2) Lemon was a value pick only, which is fine everyone loves value(again see my dislikes). Why I disliked the pick. 1)We continue to lollygag finding Lane's replacement and while Fred Johnson is an ok back up, he's is just that a back up not the future. I hope there is an OT they will find tonight because we can't keep putting this off. Iheanchor was perfect for us because he needs time anyhow. I hope they have a guy tonight, but from what I have seen there are none. I'm not saying this merely because Iheanchor was my mock round 1 choice(as it ended up being most others as well) I am more adult than that,so please, so I was at least on target with many many "pros". I assumed(wrongly) that losing Stoutland would also be a great reason to give a top OT a chance to learn whatever system is not in place and get ready to take over for Lane. I know we looked at many OT's through many rounds(in the event we MISSED). So did we steal Lemon or Did Pitts take the pick we should have because we got "draft happy?" Only time will tell. They made the move they wanted to make and I am not on the payroll. 2) With us needing to restock the O line depth this was a MISS for me. The other guy I wanted is up in round 2,but very early(Bisontis) so we have no ammo to move up for him either unless we want to trade away the few picks we have left or some '27 pick, which COULD work, so I have not given up on him quite yet. Since we know AJ is gone and we have some pre arranged deal with the Pats only Howie know what those are,so getting Chase is still on my table. Another guy I love is Dunker who is listed as a T abut can play G also. He would be on my want list as well 3) We are historically a run first team. If Lane goes down, that will break again in which case, Lemon would come in handy EXCEPT for the fact Hurts doesn't look for the slot players hardly at all. That MUST change right NOW. Of course for me this pick is all a part of "let's prove Hurts is our QB". That part hit me last night because unless he finds this kid the BS "friction" begins again, BUT it won't be AJ that's gets the razz, it will be HURTS. This could be something of a "sacrifice year" where we move from run first to more of a passing team. Hurts will either fix his issues or break and he is gone next year. In which case Lemon is a great option for McKee(or whoever else steps in as with 2 round 1 's next drat we can grab the top QB(I assume that will be Arch Manning if we don't keep McKee. 4) Giving Dallas more draft ammo is sacreligious(I never could spell this LOL) to me. Not a fan at all of doing that under any circumstance althopugh Now dem Boys will have to defend this kid. So there are other reasons but I've already written an essay. I can only hope what they have done works out. I will remain skeptical about this pick since we are also staring losing all out TE's next year. I hope they pick wisely tonight. They need to,it is now imperative they do so. Let's see what tonight brings. I may give up mocks altogether since all they do is make ashtray fodder. We are 1 hour away from tonights draft. This is the "meat area" of the draft. We drafted the "icing" for this cake. if we don't bake the cake, the icing will be secondary. They need to NAIL this tonight. Fly Eagles Fly
April 24Apr 24 Author Sorry for the essay, just had alot on my brain with this pick. Makai needs a REAL QB who will find him OFTEN(see JJ). Hurts is now in the spotlight all alone. Do or die, make or break, prove it year because it can never be said we didn't give him weapons. The excuse train is pulling into the station, those have run out

Fly Eagles FlyOk...I could only read up until you started talking about your round 2 tackle. So let me chime in.WHY DO WE NEED TO DRAFT LANE JOHNSON'S REPLACEMENT IN THE 2026 DRAFT?He is playing this year, maybe a 2nd year. Why can't we see how the 3 draft picks from last year develop. Why can't we draft the future RT next year? Why can't we wait until he retires and then draft one. Why can't we find one in free agency. Why the obsession of just thinking so small and about one position... and one draft...when there is so much more to building a football team?
April 24Apr 24 You are willing to sacrifice everything...because we NEEDED to draft a guy who wouldn't play this year? Why?
April 24Apr 24 Is it impossible that a rookie tackle starts? So why can't we draft the guy after Lane retires?
April 24Apr 24 Why is it assumed none of the guys drafted last year could possibly start in the future?
April 24Apr 24 Why OBSESS... OVER ONE POSITION AND ONE DRAFT? Why identify success of a draft with a position that might not even see the field this year?
April 24Apr 24 Shutting out everything...because of an obsession with one position... for the future, not even now... why?
April 24Apr 24 Author 2 minutes ago, joemas6 said:You are willing to sacrifice everything...because we NEEDED to draft a guy who wouldn't play this year? Why?So we could pick up where Lane left off. We don't need total rookie mistakes at OT. it's fine, any OT we take will be sitting. I just wanted one with a tall ceiling who could be the next pro bowler especially with an all new O staff. We can't overlook this spot or needing depth on the lines. Teams live or die in the trenches and I don't want to become weak there because if you are, everyone on offense drops down. WR can be had in FA(as we all know well). OT's not so much, they are coveted pieces
April 24Apr 24 Author 4 minutes ago, joemas6 said:Why can't we sign a free agent or make a trade for an OT?Who would give up a starting OT???? Very hard to do
April 24Apr 24 Author 7 minutes ago, joemas6 said:Is it impossible that a rookie tackle starts? So why can't we draft the guy after Lane retires? That's great if you have rookie QB's or RB's because you are now rebuilding from scratch. We aren't doing that. We have Bark,Tank and Devonta. If the pass rush keeps getting to Hurts those guys aren't going to do diddly. IDK why that is tough to see????
April 24Apr 24 Author 7 minutes ago, joemas6 said:Basically... why?Lane played every game last year? He's going to play every game this year? even if he plays his youth is going away now. it needs replaced with YOUTH. Why am I obsessed? Because I am a fan and I want to win, why is that even a question??
April 24Apr 24 Author 10 minutes ago, joemas6 said:Why can't we sign a free agent or make a trade for an OT?Why are they FA's? Either they are cap casualties or they are BU's. How many starting OT's leave because of the cap? I do not know but I would assume if you have a top OT you're going to keep them if possible. If not you have 31 other teams vying for the same guy, If they are BU's then that's why why aren't starting. I don't see many starting OT's being dealt around. maybe you do, I don't see many. If you have 2nd rate OT's on either side your skill players are going to suffer,so will your QB

Replacing a legend is hard to do and I wanted the guy with the highest ceiling, that is not shutting things out that was my personal preference, Yours can be different, so???? Don't tell me what MY opinion is and I won't tell you what yours is
April 24Apr 24 Author 18 minutes ago, joemas6 said:Basically... why?Maybe because we no longer have Stoutland U. I have ZERO clue how the new guy will do. If we had Stout who was like a constant, I would feel better about starting a rook. With the unkown comes caution and taking an OT and giving him a full year to learn and grow along with the new staff would make sense to me. perhaps it doesn't to you. That is my personal take. I never said yours was the same
April 24Apr 24 Author Day 2- FOR ME, not right or wrong for ME is OT,G, edge, TE, possibly trading '27 pick(or 2) for better players. We shall see what Howie does. Lemon was the #2 WR on most boards. Falling as he did I understand why we made the move, but we put off getting a tier 1 OT. It was a trade off, but I am not Howie, so I'm ok with the pick but I wasn't too thrilled with who we had to give additional picks too. I am off for the duration of day 2. See you all later

April 24Apr 24 The OT wouldn’t get the luxury of sitting a year behind Lane most likely but not like it would be the first time we started a rookie T either.
