I didn’t say that but the team was not ready to play. They didn’t adopt the right game plan. They made bad choices in the game and that’s a theme every week. Sirianni is absolutely the biggest (but not the only) problem.

How do you know they weren't ready to play....as compared to they didn't play well?

Is every missed tackle " not ready to play"?   Goedert's drop, missed blocks, two idiot plays on punt returns....that's simply " not ready to play"

What specifically " if they were ready" do you think they would have done physically better on these plays?

Because to me... I hate taking any excuses away from players messing up!  They don't need to be motivated to play.  They are pros they play to feed their families on top of every thing else that motivates people like us when we play ourselves.

Now...if you could point out specific things scheme wise that you think we weren't prepared for...then fine.  I don't see it.  To me the Tampa players kicked our players asses.   I also think that's easier without 3 of our top offensive players out.

Jimmy Johnson was a great Xs and Os defensive coordinator.... I highly doubt he spent a lot of time preparing and motivating Brian Dawkins to play!  That was Dawkins responsibility.

Didn’t like how long it took us to adjust to the short passing game but that’s been a stable of our secondary since we went to this Vic Fangio style D let’s play 10+ yards off lol back with Gannon

Curious to know how much Kellen Moore wants to use more under center v Siri/Hurts being more opposed to it.

Seen the run with Barkley then us trying the PA screen off a similar look later in the game.

always been a stable of the Moore O in his previous stops under center running from it then using PA and bootlegs etc.

Curious to know 2 things. What was SOOOOO important for Devin White that he could not play vs the Bucs. His "personal matter" should be secondary. Did he stub his toe? Out when we needed him to play. That signing was a total whiff. Next up, last night when the Bills knew the game was lost, they played their BU's. Why doesn't Siri ever do this(aka garbage time).Of course we had our BU WR's in already, but why not put the QB in they are used to practicing with(I assume that is Kenny). Like that combo would be any worse? Gives them game time experience vs the better guys in the NFL so they understand what work lies ahead to improve. Nope, just sit them so they are unprepared when needed. I just don't understand the refusal when you know the game is already out of reach. IDK that Pickett(no fan) or McKee would have been any worse. Down all those players you give it your best shot, but really when you KNOW the game is lost why keep the 1's at risk? I wasn't for a forfeit like Ham. You give it your best shot first BUT when all is lost it's pointless to keep playing your 1's. Rant over

So this is where I agree and disagree with you.

When I asked what you see different in this offense compared to what I call the regular Hurts offense.... besides some motion.   You mentioned QB under center.... to me 2 snaps under center isn't different.

I absolutely believe as long as we have Hurts..the offense stays the same.   RPO... short passing , slants,  screens, crossing patterns ..one read then run , with QB panicking.

Ultimately the ball is snapped and the QB goes to his instincts.

Was a top O in the league before this week in several areas

Yea like being the only team to not score in the 1st qtr, one of if not the top team in turnovers…. Weren’t even top 10 in scoring we were 12th and that was only because of the GB game in Brazil….

We have been more in line with the 16 points we scored against TB scoring around 17ppg in the other 3 games not counting GB…

So yea I stand by the comment we have been very lack luster O to start the year

Seem couple different looks from Moore throughout the year the under center, couple different looks with the split backs sets etc.

Really why I said then and even now I’ve liked some of what I’ve seen from Moore along with the motion…. Now I’m curious as to why we don’t seem to use these sets more often is it the HC wanting it? Or the QB?

I’m sure Moore is trying to cater the O to things Hurts is comfortable with and likes but at the same time would like to see us go to the different looks more often

Since we clearly have some of those plays in our playbook if Moore calling them even twice a game lol…. The handful of times I have seen us go under center this year hasn’t gone well lol

You know something I thought Hurts did well his first couple of years was have a sense in the pocket knowing when to take off and run or just get rid of the ball…. Where has that gone?

Are we trying to keep Hurts in the pocket more? Is that  coaching thing? The two fumbles he had v the Bucs could have and honestly should have been avoided

Not a special player ... we are back to asking the question... was 2022 just too easy with the schedule...is Hurts good enough to be a good QB in this league?

I think he should do ok with the full supporting cast... just needs to stay away from mistakes at bad times.

Just needs the top paid G in the league to block his man. That would solve three turnovers this season alone. Not too mention the other nonturnover failed plays.

Goes back to all those blowout games in 2022. Still weren’t getting some of the younger players any reps and experience. NaKobe still never saw the field when it was a rarity that whole season for the game to be on the line at the end.

The most different O Hurts has run in his college or Pro career…big adjustment here.

My thing... I don't consider one or two... " a couple"  as you state it... anything different.  We run 60 plays... 2 of them under center isn't a different offense to me.  That's just me... I'm not debating anything, just offering my opinion, I'm not doing backflips because I see 2 snaps under center or a play with 2 RBs?   The offense to me will remain the same with Hurts under center.

The success will be determined on how healthy the star players ... Barkley, AJ, Smith, Lane,Dickerson, Mailata, Goedert ... how healthy they remain and if Hurts can just manage it.

I also agree that I thought the one thing Hurts gave early in his career (with less to work with) was that he didn't try to do too much and was very good, not just ok... but very good at avoiding the mistakes or big negative plays.   He threw plenty of balls away etc.

Big adjustment?   To what?

How was it not ready to play?  How could Dean have been ready to tackle... and Goedert ready to catch the ball... what is the method Sirianni could have used to get those specific things ready?

Were they ready against the Saints?   Or did they just play better and have a better matchup?

Like to me... they aren't ready means they are being completely out schemed and surprised by what was going on.  I didn't see it... I saw Tampa players beating out players... I didn't see, well this is just an unprepared team... I saw a team that was beat by the man across from them.

There have absolutely been games where I've seen teams not prepared... the pickle juice game when we beat Dallas,,, they weren't prepared for stuff.  The first game Chip coached vs Washington... they weren't prepared for us.    This past game... 20 missed tackles, penalties,,,stupid ones at the wrong time... that's the players.

And again they were things I seen early on that would assume would continue to grow as the season went along but it hasn’t that my point….

Clearly that hasn’t been the case which again brings up my question of why I’m assuming it something Moore would like to use more often since he has done it everywhere else he has been.

The offense wasn’t ready against the Saints. That game was won by the defense. This team starts slow every single week (zero points in the first quarter) and that’s on the coaches. And yes last week against the Saints it was a favourable match up for our defense. I said it then and I’ll keep saying it. This defense is not good and it is below average in the league.

Right...he needs everything to go perfectly....  where as a top QB can work around things.  I agree.

Didn't the offense basically move the ball all game?   How many yards?

Idk what you see when you watch ...but sure doesn't seem like the actual game?

And up until that point didn't the Saints score on every possession....and just put up another decent amount yesterday?
