Then we can even add in not hard for you to shade LB to the outside in coverages when it’s a pass… they can start in the middle a zone out….

if your a DC literally zero reason to focus any of the coverage in the middle of the field with our current O since we aren’t attacking the middle

If you want to put stress on a defense guess what use the entire field To attack them not a really hard concept to understand….

It’s a F tone easier to defend against the pass when you know 90% of the time that ball is going to be thrown outside the hashes…. Not to mention there is only so many routes you can run outside as well the route tree is way more open on the inside way more space to utilize

Here is Kyler Murray another short QB they are finding ways for him to attack the middle of the field…. So why can’t our O find ways to do it????

IMG_3930.jpeg

Am I asking for to much wanting to have an O that can attack you anywhere on the field on the regular not just that 1 or 2 plays here and there.

What's pathetic is your constant covering up Hurts flaws and discounting them and making excuses

BTW the HC is not the head of training people. That's we we have an entire staff of positional coaches,so start there

Tony is a paying fan. I understand Tony was probably being a d0uche bag, but part of the coach's requirements is to have some class.

BTW I loved your short story. Made me laugh lol

When Tony sees the last name Siriani come in,he will piss on his cheese steak before sending it out

So the middle of the field should be wide open to attack is what you’re saying and yet we still don’t ulitize it.

If double AJ double Smith and LB to focused in the middle Stop the run…. That leaves lot of open space over the middle to attack should be Massive holes to attack over the middle we don’t use…

Literally the worst take I’ve ever heard on why we don’t utilize a major part of the field

Excuses for Hurts as usual

Slot crossing patterns are killer. JJ made a living at it. May possibly be worthwhile to locate another outside WR and stick Smitty in the slot. Then again he would be in the middle of the field and his numbers would tank

Well like I said…you gotta respect our rushing attack. So you can’t leave the middle undermanned. So if you’re doubling AJ(wise move but still not shutting him down) then that pulls two defenders all the way out. You going to keep a S high over Smitty too? That’s four defenders committing to the sidelines….gotta have two LB against the run. But you need to blitz Hurts. I’ve most of my life seen lesser Os to try and defend.

Hurts can't even manage to hit our RB's coming out of the backfield in the middle of the field. He will hit them after they clear the hashs. As 93 said totally ignoring a major part of the field. The middle is a superb place to hit TE's also(not happening)

My complaint isn’t even on Hurts if he is having issues seeing over OL why are we not doing things to aid him???

Bring up Brees things they did with him rollouts, bootlegs,PA, just moving the pocket to help open up the throwing lanes…

why are we not doing these things???

I clearly don’t think this is on Moore we have seen him in two other spots and what his O generally look like and it’s nothing like ours right now.
As Joe has said our O is the same as last year and we are even cutting out the motion from things I’ve seen think we are like 29th in the league in motion.

I don’t want to hear the complaints that our O is bland, boring, predictable if the wheels fall off again this season when nobody is questioning our O right now when we are running the same crap

So who is taking advantage of the very open room our elite playmakers make against our opponents worst cover guy? Reagor? Quez? OZ? Five years retired ability Julio? Whole list of guys brought in that can’t even thrive in that ultimate ideal situation. The height of our QB balanced by the massive mountain Oline, coaching inabilities both developing and playcalling, Rosie for sucking at so many player selections….and I’m going to make sure out of my own mouth Hurts weakness is a factor. Perfect situation for a mediocre guy to have monster 100 yard games….countered by a tsunami of flaws failing to just fit that final championship roster piece in place. Drafting Smitty and trading for AJ are supposed to be the hard parts. Crappy coaching and total amd complete failure by Rosie to finish the easiest part of the puzzle. I mean really…what starting position on O could be easier to fill than third WR taking advantage of the stud top two WR and RB/QB rushing attack?

Cool, maybe he can return most of his salary back to 100k,because I'm not seeing a 53 million dollar QB right now

When did you see a $53 million QB.. go watch 19:58 of his best plays in 2022 ...show me anything different than you see now?

All those WRs you mentioned...plus Doug, Steichen,  Johnson and Moore ...all have one thing in common... the QB.

To clarify what Joe said...not only is it the same offense as last year.... but also the year before that. Just that nobody was complaining while we played the brutal opponents and were winning big.

But it was the safe stuff

I meant...same stuff

BG there is a real quality article about the middle of the field passing…or lack of. Browns game we played ultra conservative approach from our brilliant CEO coach so he could make sure to avoid the guillotine. But also Schwartz played a ton of single high S. Obviously it’s just not where you are going with the ball when facing that D. Clearly attack outside the hashes to negate that S.
Then add in the pathetic 120 degree sauna meltdown in TB. I’m not going to sugar coat and act like Bowles isn’t a problem for Hurts and Siri. Bowles is light years beyond our CEO of stadium fan education. Main thing was the short handed squad that went there. I suggested just resting guys for a two week get right. Our team didn’t even show up thinking they could be competitive. So in this very small sample size you have the first week of the season….pretty much a grab bag of random who knows league wide every year, Bowles against our completely non competitive lineup that day in blistering heat and Schwartz playing a high dose of Single high S. So let’s give Moore and Coach Doug a chance to build this new O here…if Siri gets out of the way enough.
Think there are so many reasons to believe this year’s team can improve big time going forward on working the middle of the field. Moore’s O utilizes it much more than the CEOs grab bag scheme of pull a play out of the hat….which most things in the hat are Hurts buys time to make the big plays downfield. Looks like to me Moore understands what’s needed to adjust this O. Big plays are great…Hurts lead the league making them happen. But DCs aren’t going to give us that….proven effective to halt us last season. All TC we’ve seen Moore motion and add tons of short and especially intermediate passing options. So you want to keep Hurts from chucking the deep ball to our awesome playmakers? Underneath should be there. Pretty much exactly if you watched Mahomes last season and in the SB. Mahomes struggled to adapt and adjust…heck they almost didn’t make the playoffs because he struggled so hard to adjust to taking the easy cheap matriculate passing game down the field. Mahomes has AR and a strong staff even, New O….with twice…heck three times the WR options to work with, use motion to move the D…or use motion for the receiver to get that quick starting angle. Now that Siri survived the early ax(not early enough)…hopefully he can open things up a bit and let Moore run his O. Being conservative playing so close to the vest so our CEO of bad clown stadium sideshow can’t be the season long way to go about things. This O needs to learn and develop this new O by the end of the season. Winning games without going through the learning curve to maximize this O isn’t doing us any good. Can’t get anywhere enough as a threat when things matter at the end …without completely committing to learning growing and maximizing this new system. In my mind we either are goIng to get good at Moore’s O or bust. And most of you will hate what will come with that process: turnovers. Make some mistakes..break some eggs…don’t be so afraid you stunt this process of working this new O scheme. Just go for it! All in on commiting to Moore’s O. Lose some ships along the way to winning the war.

Most of his career. That’s the going rate for starting QB. I’ll defend our team and leader until the end. Usually that’s stuff that occurs on league wide message boards…or heck the cowboys board trashing our QB. What is it you are saying he should be paid? Pay it or franchise tag him..which I know you love how teams do that. Or let our mature dedicated hard working leader …walk. I’m sure plenty of teams would jump on signing him, He’d have been paid much more as a FA. That’s pure fact that can’t even be argued. Besides…it was a team friendly deal all the way in my view. You love gobbling up Rosie Magic Contract breakdowns. Is he counting 53 against the cap this year? Next year? I’m sure you’d rather have Mahomes. But we’d kick butt with Hurts and AR.

The One thing in common you blew the answer to…like usual. It’s Rosie. You just mentioned how several coaches couldn’t develop any of all these WRs brought in. Talking how many in TC the whole time Siri has been here? A staggering miss rate on the easiest position to fill on the O. You endlessly point out AJ and Smitty…all these weapons. WR room is incomplete. Just need any competent WR to take advantage of what those guys create for him. Draft, FAs….find one guy that’s bigger than Covey that can play WR. Anybody. Julio only ran one route…everybody knew this…Hurts still threw a couple TDs to the retirement home former great.

I'm ok with the pay... as it is going to be about 15th- 20th in the league soon enough.   Howie wanted to look like a genius taking him in round 2...after the team success in 2022 with him running and throwing jump balls to our two stud WRS.... he was the feel good story.

It is what it is... he us the guy for the next 3 seasons... the same rinse repeat... as long as he doesn't make dumb mistakes and the talent around him stays healthy we have a shot.

But he isn't elite.  And the " intangibles " stuff that was 2021-22... that honeymoon is over.  People expect a QB now.

So Howie is the one who can't read a defense and likes the same college plays?

We put Stoll and blocking WRs on the field constantly. You blaming the QB for not throwing to two massive snap players on the field constantly…that don’t catch balls. Heck a second TE and the blocking WR on the field at the same time even. How are you expecting tons of catching production from guys known not be primary receiving targets? That’s the definition of just Hating on our team leader to fit your agenda. Yes Hurts is still working on this part of his game. But this blind throwing g stays out without any context is beneath this board. We all know we’ve been primarily fielding blocking players inside with Siri. Let’s see if you can answer this lob question: what is a blocking TE/WR going to be most productive doing? I can give you multiple choice answers if you still aren’t getting it.
