Howie wanted to look like a genius taking him in round 2...after the team success in 2022 with him running and throwing jump balls to our two stud WRS.... he was the feel good story. It is what it is... he us the guy for the next 3 seasons... the same rinse repeat... as long as he doesn't make dumb mistakes and the talent around him stays healthy we have a shot. But he isn't elite. And the " intangibles " stuff that was 2021-22... that honeymoon is over. People expect a QB now. He can’t go further than the coaching and scheme allow. He can run and make spectacular plays outside of the routine design. Who’s elite? And what’s your definition? I say he is…and can be. Let’s stop handcuffing him with our CEO of crowd activities that can’t teach, adapt or accell in football knowledge. Get Siri out of the way and at least let Moore go for it here. Then next season bring in the real top O mind. Stop hiding behind the GM control limiting our HC options. Hurts …our O…our team…the fans…demand this!

Best third WR and TE we’ve been fielding have been blocking specialists. Rosie forced and hired Siri. First however many games of Siri’s HC job here…terrible. Hurts overcame that by winning most every game after Siri stepped back…made the playoffs. That was what? Reagor, Quez, Hightower and rookie Smitty. You know the dream WR room of all time. Then after 2022 Steichen departs. O carried Tim’s of momentum…and especially the key knack of knowing how to pull out the win each week. But then …like most seasons for every coach…you need to self scout and adjust to how the best DCs all figure out how to limit you. You know…pretty routine NFL coaching work. Siri had no answers to fairly simple issues. Heck even without the X and O answers coaches are getting paid for as their actual job….he at least could expand the playbook. The more things spiraled collapsing…the more Siri took over fearing for his job, once again the more Siri..the worse the O. Then Siri’s so very clearly facing getting fired again against the Browns. You think Siri said you go for it Kellen? Or did Siri force himself on the situation very heavily? Pretty consistent results. Obvious to any non agenda pushers.
October 20, 20242 yr 28 minutes ago, joemas6 said: So Howie is the one who can't read a defense and likes the same college plays? In college Hurts had outstanding coaching. But he’s only been in the same O once. When he was MVP runner up. Hmmmm…could this actually be a factor? When each year you are dealing with learning a new O…how much does that cut into learning to read very sophisticated best in the history of the sport NFL Ds? Add in you gotta put the two together to actually work. You know…learn how to succeed in each O against every situation. Then we get to whose job has it been to teach Hurts reading of D? Was it the guy that decided focus more learning these other important pieces to being a very young NFL QB…let the All Time C Kelce do what he’s been doing? Right, this has been leaked out clear choice and decision by our CEO of Giant fan gas station countering technician. Then there is just the fact of the DCs and D players get paid too, The best in the business are trained to confuse, disguise, predict the best play for what they expect the O play they’ll face. How could it be known so clearly as a mandatory job requirement to be in the NFL if it’s only Hurts that they are successful at times? Then let’s talk about Motion. By a massive distance from the rest of the league we were least in using motion. Even barely fans know that QBs use motion to help read the D. How is it fair to give every other QB this tool to assist them…but Hurts should just not have any use or need for it? Then let’s talk playclock. We’ve had very long periods of the playcall coming in very late. Just nobody that can say a QB is benefiting reading a D when he comes to the line late on the playclock.
October 20, 20242 yr 43 minutes ago, joemas6 said: So Howie is the one who can't read a defense and likes the same college plays? But yes…even though Rosie grills coaches after wins. Believes he’s the main reason for everything football related with the Eagles. You know he got all that knowledge from all his extensive playing and coaching football days on the calculator. Rosie inserts himself as the guy running the show for the coaches to answer to…backed up with his arsenal of calculator analytics squadron. No way I can see Rosie not telling coaches what should have been the plays and decisions in hindsight instead of what the football guys chose in the heat of battle. But yes…don’t think Rosie can read a D very well or teach and execute a pro playbook. He can’t find that third WR that is even mediocre either. It without question should be the easiest task for any GM to complete as far as starting O players to identify. All the TC players, FAs, draft, trades….really don’t know how many WR failures that’s been? Can we agree on 40 failures to even be a competent WR against the worst DB with space created by stud playmakers? Vermeil could have had a tryout of guys off the street and done better. Some guy living in Antarctica that could perform this task better.
October 20, 20242 yr For a guy that doesn’t feel like he’s had the perspective of being an athlete or coach…..Rosie’s done pretty darn well for himself. But he obviously struggles with the actual football related details. He can work a trade. But he doesn’t have the perspective and knowledge with the game of football. I mean it’s understandable from a guy whose athletic prowess has revolved around a Pickle Ball court at the exclusive country club. When he picks players to draft…or sign? Usually when he makes his most mistakes. Seems like he is best when heavily relying and listening to the actual football guys. You know…he looks good when paired with an excellent college and pro scouting team…key being he listens to. Now if you agree on this point…then you also could understand how his ego and power control domination completely limits our HC situation. You have the pocket protector calculator geek…dominating the football expert situation. Our GM has many strong suits. Main one being masterful at even when he completely disgustingly epically fails? He does it so completely…that he can’t be fired. Nobody wants to deal with that mess as a quality hire…and he knows best how to undo his own clusterF. He drafts and signs well listening to quality scouts and coaches…football guys. Seems obvious that he needs to do the same with the HC. He’d be a better more successful GM if he had a better football guy running the team. The better the HC hire…the more power and control that guy will demand to hire.
October 20, 20242 yr 2 hours ago, joemas6 said: To clarify what Joe said...not only is it the same offense as last year.... but also the year before that. Just that nobody was complaining while we played the brutal opponents and were winning big. But it was the safe stuff Game one looked much more Moore influenced. Which seemed to be dialed back each week. The Tampa game with all the injuries and our HC didn’t remotely have our players believing they could compete. So with all the injuries, heat…just not much relating to any kind of successful Eagles football…believe to judge fairly…gotta pretty much throw out the backup heavy O on the field that day. All those guys missing? We have to completely throw out any O plan that’s been formulated for this team. But I agree quite a bit on the Browns game. We always seem to view everything Eagles related so differently…so consistently. I saw Siri fearing his head getting chopped with a loss to the pathetic much lesser Browns team…especially considering his last several games complete terrible decisions and job performance. You can’t lose the whole 10-1 coming off a near SB parade team…some how manage to stay on as the CEO decision making guru that has terrible gameplans each game failing to accomplish anything in the first quarter….then very directly make a game altering decision at the end that cost us the Falcons game…followed by fielding a team that didn’t show up in Tampa remotely ready to compete accepting defeat without fight….then lose to the Browns…and keep the job. Trust me…this was actually my very short version of the trail left behind of terrible decisions and coaching performance by our CEO of top decision maker. The guy that played everybody the last game of last season in a game that wasn’t really important…but worse yet…he didn’t have his team ready to play and win….with actually playing everybody. Oh yeah…on the worst injury causing field in all of football. Haven’t even gotten Sidney back yet. But im not thinking he would have sat out anyway. Can’t remember all the smaller injuries…but lost AJ and Hurts got damaged on his throwing hand. Brilliant decision …that any coach would get a raise for..NOT! Siri made the CEO of Head Rock Paper Scissors smack talking he was going to make real sure the priority was on him not getting fired…you know except the part where he fired back at the more knowledgable football Eagles fan confronting him in the stands. It was going to be no turnovers…nothing cute…get the win over a man really bad overmatched team by taking the lowest risk possible. The team needs are like I stated previously: learn and thrive in Moore’s new O scheme. That took a back seat to the guy in charge of making the best football decision for our team…to selfishly keep his job a little longer. He wasn’t looking to put up 40 and let things fly.
October 20, 20242 yr So you see it as we revert because of Hurts limitations of not being a worthy starting QB. I see it as a power struggle. We need to implement Moore’s O. Totally different scheme comes with obvious learning bumps in the road. So do you just go for it risking early season losses so you can get to where we need by the end of the season? I absolutely believe it’s the best and really only way we should be going about things this season. But CEO of Chiefs fans middle finger management doesn’t agree so much with this plan. He believes in his ways Moore(you see what I did there). Siri personally is focused on winning week one and going from there. He’s fine with sticking with his own O pretend scheme instead of risking all the missteps surely associated with everybody getting on the same page with the Kellen Moore also known as the guy that would have made a better HC if Siri didn’t have the stronger coordinators he was bringing with him to prop him up. Fangio controls the D. Even see Rosie had to step back from overpowering the not taking any crap lifer football expert. The O wasn’t as cut and dry. Many thought Siri was stripped of power and control of the O. It was going to be Moore’s O. Siri however always called it a collaboration effort on O. Plan was keep the good and add Moore’s extra. So seemed like Rosie stripped Siri of all the power on both sides of the ball to just utilize his absolute genius decision making qualities…and to compete in any non football related activities with the players. You know still have Siri speak at banquets for the team and such. But they did keep Siri on as HC. Siri’s going to clearly favor less risk while learning a real scheme to his own O especially to not suffer the losses that likely occur while early on guys being far from seasoned mechanics in everything it takes to run Moore’s O, Everybody but a few here I think realize that Siri was brought back as a temporary stopgap so they don’t hire a forced new HC from weak potential candidates. So Siri understands that his career much more is looking at winning early at the cost of the greater future of this team. You,No Mas, approve and applauded Siri with the main support being his W/L record.
October 20, 20242 yr So we are in a pickle with this ridiculous situation on O coaching. Everything depends on how well this team gets at the new O for this year’s squad to have a legit shot to get anywhere postseason…if not to win the division. But you got the Head Freakin Coach that’s on a totally different agenda. He focused on no desire to risk the early expected bumps switching to Moore’s O that could actually cost us the game against the Browns. Win early season game trumping any bigger season goals. Stunt the learning curve….just to make sure week 5 is a W. Siri is invested like you, No Mas, champion his W/L record as fantastic for a first time HC, That’s very highly important for Siri in the rest of his career…not here. But you also have the factor of the Moore Kellen’s O works and succeeds…it makes Siri’s performance look worse.
October 20, 20242 yr So that’s my very different perspective and observations of what I’ve been witnessing occurring.
October 20, 20242 yr On 10/18/2024 at 6:35 PM, cunninghamtheman said: You bring back the coach that lost the team and are expecting different results. Pretty much how insanity is defined. There MUST be more to the story than any of us know. I’m not a Siri fan. I think he’s an immature coach. But it doesn’t matter what I think. It only matters what the locker room and owner think. You say he lost the team last year. I don’t think so or he would have been let go. As fans, we can’t pretend to KNOW what happens day to day in that locker room. And just because someone in the media says something, it doesn’t make it true. CBS, NBC, ABC…bunch of liars. Just saying. No different for NFL media. They all have egos and want attention. Speaking of attention, ESPN PULLED a stupid one…ESPN fired several long term, awesome commentators…Susy Kolber, Steve Young, Trent Dilfer, even Sam Ponder. But thats a whole different issue. Cunningham, Hurts is a concern if his game truly is as limited as we have seen this season. It simply is not good. Doesn’t mean i dont like him. But his game is severely limited. That sucks. Team will be average unless he finds a way to improve. It is what it is. I’m more worried that Hurts’ ego is too big to learn. Only the team knows the answer to that.
October 20, 20242 yr Yeah not seeing the ego issue with Gurts concerning learning. He clearly understands how detrimental him playing at the top level of football under Siri is for him. Team was lost…Siri had no answers. I extensively have highlighted how every time Siri is in the most contr we have been the worst. 2021 Siri comes in and is terrible playcalling. Siri left our very unexceptional my talented team in a while so near inescapable. Yet Siri steps back from playcalling and Hurts leads us on a tear to make the playoffs in spite of Siri’s complete inept ability. Shall I continue with every example of Siri takes over more control and the results are terrible?
October 20, 20242 yr But look…Hurts plays his role in things…some players get coaching that helps and teaches them. Hurts overcomes ours. Now how exceptional mastered were you expecting Hurts to be in this completely different O scheme to start the season? Nothing like Bamas O. Not the spread. Not ARs O Pedey brought. Nothing like Siri’s written in crayon eco friendly five page playbook.
October 20, 20242 yr Just now, cunninghamtheman said: But look…Hurts plays his role in things…some players get coaching that helps and teaches them. Ball security on fumbles other than the stupid Cam snap? That I don’t excuse from Hurts. He has to do better.
October 20, 20242 yr How long should be a reasonable time to learn a completely different scheme take at the highest level to master and make your own? 3 years…or one joint practice? 3-4 to 4-3 D it was widely accepted it really took 3 years…but could be acceptable with stud coaching in 2.
October 20, 20242 yr Remember Hurts isn’t even just learning a whole completely foreign scheme…he also added Kelce’s duties to his role.
October 20, 20242 yr I see things as you gotta just go with it and deal with the learning corner mistakes to accomplish the bigger goal ahead. I always prioritized getting a team at its highest at the end of the season. You can’t afford to lose every game early. But gotta speed things up as fast as possible. Isn’t a five year plan here. One year…one shot deal of how good can we be to be competitive in the potentially season defining late season games. Everything on the line a wild card spot or hopefully a chance to win the division based on how far along we develop both sides of the ball under new coaching(my thoughts are based on Siri getting the F out the way so Moore can implement a real scheme).
October 20, 20242 yr Siri’s been screwing up all along I’ve clearly outlined with very obvious results terrible the more he’s been involved and the same team clearly thriving under others. But let’s skip past terrible playcalling and poor actual X and o knowledge. Skip past losing a one loss team to where they can’t even look competitive in the playoffs. Let’s just look after he was gifted a return as HC to the obvious disapproval of Hurts. Look how many are pointing fingers at Hurts under bad HC that’s obviously more a detriment than aid. Hurts obviously totally disagreed with any decision to even have considered hampering him/the whole team by still keeping this CEO of Titanic Iceberg scouting. They went against Hurts wishes and I believe most of the whole team. Kelce and Cox stood by Siri as they weren’t going to have their absolutely phenomenal careers affected by the HC. Why would either guy retire and risk his legacy on telling everybody "hey you gotta fire that bum”? So Siri, Hurts, Smitty several other players began their NFL careers with a low talent team that was capped out by all the terrible GM decisions to get 4 wins…oh I better not forget the tie in that…its important when balancing judging the next seasons cap paying for that crucial tie to get us over the hump in 2020. First time HC. He doesn’t have twenty years of this is how he runs his whole schedule to begin minicamps and TC and so on. Basically a young HC got energy…but running around like chicken with his head cut off…well let’s be honest …the headless chicken would have run it instead of pass to Barkley. So our touted guru of exceptional decision making ….decides I got a million things I don’t know how to get accomplished …very young QB…just let Kelce do all he did…cuts teaching the QB those skills as a focus as his first year starting. Kelce should have run those things but you still need to do your job with the very young first time starting second round pick coming from a spread O under exceptional innovative top college coaching, At Bama they changed OCs and then he thrived in one season in the spread. By thrived I mean dominated…just happened to be a year Burrow threw to Jefferson and Chase smashing every college record. In short…obviously a Heisman worthy season in his first season of that O in 80 percent of college football history. So new coaches every year of college. Does anybody believe a QB adapting and learning with a new coach each season is conducive to the most advanced development year after year of reading Ds? Pretty much like the least ideal scenario. So he comes in as a second round pick on a team that has just paid their franchise QB/bum depending on your Hurts level Hating agenda. I totally give Wentz that phenomenal hot streak in our SBbseason for quite an exceptional second season. I’ll strongly note the coaching situation: Pedey, Reich, Defillpo, Stout and Staley. The best Oline coach and three specifically QB gurus with a no BS taking RB coach. Yes coaching does matter. That team doesn’t sniff bringing home a parade with out the exceptional coaching job those guys pulled off. I mean world crushing Wentz lead most of the season would have been MVP if he could have ever survived NFL football without him needing to risk his hinting and fishing priorities(besides the mirror that agree with how unstoppably greatest all time player he was).Had a strong showing in 2019 to finish the season making the playoffs with a very fortunate season of having a winning record was enough to get you in. So…college was weakest opportunity for a player to learn all the needed skills of reading a D and the adjustments he’d need to perform. I acknowledge I believe and see that this very young NFL second round pick wasn’t polished at all in reading NFL level Ds. Much less understanding what is to be done to strike the weakness of every D with a new NFL O. Plus he’s the backup. Reich and Defillpo left. Young WR coach becomes first time OC. So how optimal is a first time very young mind you WR coach for any pro to learn a totally extremely complicated sophisticated pro O with the very strong QB coach having left also? Should we just go ahead and make sure to note this footage time young upjumped OC was fired only ever holding that high of title that one Hurts rookie season? Can you name a worse OC situation to develop learning such a different much more sophisticated pro scheme to learn and master the skill of reading the best most complicated masters of disguising NFL Ds? Then in comes Siri. Well we already know this first time young HC just went ahead and skipped a huge chunk he could get by with Kelce handling the job. CEO of the Titanic submarine explorer pretty much says can’t squeeze in teaching this young first season starting QB with everything he has to accomplish his first season trying to be a HC. So audibles is pretty much like a break in obvious disaster scenarios two plays…hand off or run. Because what’s it take for a QB to earn the responsibility and trust to audible? That’s right teaching how to read a D. Kelce just handled line calls…so skip Hurts having to call his own blocking each play. Once again what’s involved with calling the blocking? You got it…teaching reading a D. So directly have the crappy coach Hurts has been saddled with not capable of spending enough time to teach enough on reading a D to Hurts. Mind you….first he’d need to consult a pro football coach to educate himself before he’d be capable of explaining it to anyone else. There was Steichen and his family friend as O coaches that actually were capable and worked on this skill I believe. Boom MVP runner up season his first year being in the same O. So then those guys get promoted. So back to what failed with Siri dominating with his O scheme perfected by years of knocking over dominos. Lost his QB coach to the title of Head of sinking bad HC bailer. Trust me that’s a full time job and then some. You can’t try and make Siri’s O work and accomplish any other tasks. So here we are. Clearly proven at this point not fit to be HC that was never strong in the X and O department as he was at inspirational speech’s. Clearly our very knowledgable fan base was the biggest asset for Siri, They routinely taught him his job, whether it was the whole stadium chanting obvious way to succeed…or each individual educated Siri how to coach one piece at a time from the bartenders to the delivery drivers. So as a pro….who expressly made the decision from the start that we’d be better off not teaching our new starting QB reading a D? Can our HC even qualify to teach anybody much of X and O top level skills? So who’s most at fault or the reason our hardest working very coachable franchise leader isn’t the most advanced teasing NFL Ds? A skill he was admittedly with the reasoning I stated behind in that area coming out of college. Is it all on Hurts? He doesn’t spend enough time with his job? He doesn’t show up for practices on time? He sleeps during film study? Or does this mostly all track back to what now all should understand to be not a quality enough HC? If a player is so clearly living and breathing football it’s hard for me to not point mostly at the coaching deficiencies and decisions directly stunting our best franchise QB ever from the get go? How much further along would our leader be under AR, McVay, Shannahan…those are the easy best coaches…..clearly be so much better for our franchise QB. But let’s not jump all the way to Hurts learning from a top O coach on reading a D…how about just a decent competent pro level HC…that isn’t swamped with it being a first time HC gig.
October 20, 20242 yr Does anybody have any belief that Siri was an ideal coach for Hurts to develop as a pro his whole career so far? Hurts Haters we all should just agree that we all demand better than Siri. Is it really unreasonable to even imagine an elite O mind that’s more mature than the average junior high dropout? Why is this thought so unfathomable…frankly why isn’t it our demand? Are we better off with Rosie so dominating control in a sport he never was an insider lifer expert first hand knowledgable about this game? Or would we be better off with the best HC in charge of the football areas?
October 20, 20242 yr All right…those are my thoughts going on. Nothing earth shattering…not like I discovered how to time travel, Just very obvious basic ….very different take on everything with this team.
