Would go along way in helping. Still wouldn’t completely take things back to normal status quo. I believe it would need to be higher to reach herd immunity or reach it at a faster pace. Would definitely help. Vaccines definitely have some dependency on health and age of individual

to me the issue is more of if that Gallup poll is accurate that 33 percent aren’t going to take it. So at most you could get is 67% of the population taking it and if everyone took the vaccine and it was 100 percent effective. Let’s say it’s only effective on 50 percent of those 67% then you are only getting 33.5%. Helpful but that would be a discouraging number imo. If it’s closer to 75% effectiveness on those 67% taking the vaccine it’s right at 50%. It’s why the 33% saying they won’t take it really hurts in getting to the point of herd immunity.

This is true, but if the economy opens up and you have people getting sick because they aren’t taking the vaccine, the liability is gone, and sadly that’s the only thing holding the Country back right now.

Their fielding is also gold glove caliber.

Don't put words in my mouth, I never said let's do the bare minimum.  I'm saying we need to look at big picture numbers, use common sense and not overreact.  Every single state is different.  Shoot, here in PA, every county is different.  From the top down there has been no coordination.  Everyone at every level of government could be doing a better job.  There is no blame all on one man or one party vs the other.

To me it seems like Covid is back page news anymore and it's just the life we live.  They shoved the "new normal" narrative down our throats and how we move forward in a "Covid world".  Well here we are.  We deal with it and live with mandates, restrictions, cancellations in place with no finish line in site.  That's my big question.  What is our goal? What is the end game?

Who put words in your mouth? I'm the one that said we should be doing the bare minimum, masks and distance.

Every state is different, sure. And we have been doing the state by state mandates and enforcement, every state and county at a different level. It's not working.

Small sample size but I have a good number of nursing friends who say they will quit their job if a vaccine is mandatory. Also seen a lot of people in general say they won't get it, mostly because of how fast tracked its being pushed out. Add in the anti-vaxers and yea, i'd be surprised if 50% get it.

Those are probably the first people they will want vaccinated. It’s honestly gonna depend on what vaccine wins out, and how similar it is to what we already have available.

Tbh have had friends in the medical field tell me the same thing. Obviously my mom isn’t getting it based off her history with vaccines but my dad (Doctor) has said he’d wait to see what happens with the first couple initial waves of people who do take it before making a decision. Anti vaxers are going to do what they do. I think there’s a large contingent of people who don’t want to take it just cause of how fast they came out with it and don’t trust it or know long term ramifications. I say this cause had clients/patients say this to me the fear of some people is those lawyer commercials about medication or medical procedures that wound up having long term side effects. They believe that is a Distinct reality of what could happen with it not having enough research. Sounds dumb in those terms but a lot of America thinks that way.

Random...

I’ve lived in Pittsburgh, no Baltimore. And I try to avoid wearing my Eagles or Phillies shirts in public because there’s always some rando who insists on making some dumb comment or trying to talk sports with me.

Ok MFer I’m just trying to order my burrito idc if you think we should have kept Foles

What ??  I wear Eagles gear everywhere.  Rolled through downtown Dallas for 4 days with nothing but Eagles gear.  You always represent.

Wore my Eagles mask to the Spokane County Court House yesterday, got a ton of Go Birds.

This is the only appropriate comment.

On gameday, yes. Just going to the grocery store it’s annoying because I just get stupid comments said to me or it’s people trying to talk football who have no idea. And you just have to respond with an awkward "yeah”

There was one time shortly after the 2017 draft some guy decided to rant about how much he hated the Barnett pick for 5 minutes straight in the meat section of the grocery store. It may have been @HazletonEagle

Were you wearing a Barnett jersey?

Just a hat. It was awkward. Said back "yea, I guess OJ Howard would be cool. Well, Go Birds." and left

You could have also said, "Gold Standard my a**! F' you Banner!"

What’s worse.  Sixers bench or Phillies bullpen?

phillies bullpen may not have a major league arm on the staff.

Huge steelers fan here but always wear my Eagles stuff when I go to the Steelers game,  99% of the time I get "Thanks for beating those **** patriots"

So you’re one of those d-bags who wears a jersey to a game where that team is not playing. Not shocked.

Yesterday there was 2 arms.  But they fell off.

Alvarez still has a 0.00 era this year in 3.1IP. I feel like the bullpen will eventually rub off on him.

I went to the cardinals/eagles game at Tempe stadium on Xmas eve where McMahon and mccown were at QB. Might have been more jerseys of fans from other teams than either eagles or cardinals. I was like why the f if you were a fan of any team other besides those two dumpster fires (that year) would you be here watching that garbage.

Except in Oakland when playing the Raiders.  But dont have to worry about that anymore.

Makes no sense 😄

You're a Steelers fan but wear Eagles stuff to your favorite teams home games?

Ok........
