Theres a forum for talking about other sports why not use that??? Especially during camp.

Camp exposure is limited and for those of us that dont live in philly the information we get can be limited so we rely on the knowledge of the board for that info. If i wanted info on brett brown id go to a different forum or a different board.

I realize the blig gets off topic from time to time which is fine and usually when it gets off topic its a topic that a vast amount of people can relate too. For instance politics or food or cars. Everyone has an opinion about trump even if they dont know jack about politics, everyone eats food, most people drive cars, not everybody cares about the 76ers.😒

Why dont you go cry about your sucky sixers in the designated forum.

The board realized the majority of eagles fans are probably from philly are probably 76er fans they also realized plenty of eagles fans arent from philly and dont follow philly sports other than the eagles, as such they provided a forum where posters could talk about other philly team sports.

That forum is not this forum. If i wanted to whine about politics id go to CVON if i wanted to whine about the eagles id go to RnR if i wanted to whine about you id go to the mods i guess or i could just handle it here and say dude whats with all the 76er talk at which point the blog would explain to me that its really not a forum for eagles fans but a place for fans from philly to engage in a big philly circle jerk, at which point someone would post a shirtless selfie Shocker would say foshizzle someone would call someone a snowflake id call the blog redundant and youd whine about my whining and around and around we go.

Wouldnt it just be easier if posters talked about other philly sports in the designated forum?

Ill tell you why cuz nobody visits that forum. If people really want to talk about the 76ers they go to a 76er discussion board not an eagles board.

I understand how the blog functions and it can be exhausting joining a board to find solidarity in a common passion for the eagles only to feel like an outsider in that designated community for eagles fans when the discussion is about things like the 76ers or phillies or flyers. It feels exclusionary. Ive been a member of this board since its inception back in 1999 or what ever year it was. A lot of posters have come and gone but one thing i could always count on was the familiarity of eagles based discussion.

I get for a lot of Taters that are from philly talking about the 76ers and eagles is the same thing for them.

I grew up in utah we had one sports team the Jazz so it wasnt blurred.

Having said that i hear you. I miss talking about the eagles. I get covid has messed everything up and people are frustrated and prone to talk about other non eagle related things its annoying when they do it in the middle of camp updates and annoying when they act like being an eagle fan and 76er fan is the same thing

Okay, I get that you weren't happy with the trade for Genard Avery. Fine, that's your'e right. But I don't quite think it's fair to say he "hadn't done squat in the league either." He had five sacks as a rookie, which is actually quite remarkable for a guy chosen in the fifth round. That's a heckuva rookie year. Things didn't quite go as well for him his second season, of course, but that doesn't make him a career non-achiever. I believe there is talent there. Whether it materializes is another matter.

The O-line is one of those areas where they are aging fast without proven young talent waiting in the wings.  That's why I would rather have Pryor at RG.  Let him get experience, go through his lumps during the season but there's no way to know if he's ready if he's just waiting behind a 38 year old LT.  

I don't have a good feeling about Dillard at all.  Not a good start for year 2 at 25 years old.

One of the first football games i saw a guy caught a td and after did a back flip i dint know much about football but thought that was pretty cool. The player was Gizmo Williams😄 about a year or 2 later tecmo super bowl came out right after sports illustrated named randall the ultimate weapon so when ever the my friends would play tecmo super bowl id be the eagles because of randall. Thats how i basically learned about the eagles roster was from tecmo bowl 😄 after that i would follow them through the box score in the paper every monday. The first actual game i saw the eagles play not just highlights from espn was a monday night football game in 1992 where they stomped the cowboys. That year was also the first eagles playoff game i saw as they came back to beat the Saints. After that i was hooked and tried to watch as many eagles games as utah tv would allow got the nfl ticket the year it came out this board was an excellent resource and been here and an eagles fan ever since.

Mostly broncos and niners. Niners because of steve young as he is a mormon and byu guy. Brincos cuz of vicinity. Cowboys because lots of fair weather fans in utah. Im not sure about the raiders now???

I live in kansas now, right in chiefs country.

Sometimes i think it would have been really cool growing up in a football town like philly and being born into an eagles family. My dad hates football and sports so i was on my own. I kind of lucked into the eagles. 

Im always confused when people from born and raised in philly are fans ofcother football teams im like what happened???

I dont want to imply that non born eagles fans are better or worse fans than those who werent born in philly i take it personally when posters imply im not as much a fan because i wasnt born or raised or lived in philly.

I remember when the boards first started it seemed to be a frequent  argument which was replaced by superiority of fandom according to post count😒

I appreciate the eagles community that adopted a clueless kid from utah even if some of those did so reluctantly 😉

Yes Sir! Born and raised though im not always the best example of one. you would be correct being Mormon in Utah is easy. My parents were mormon, their parents and their parents. My great Great Great Grandma was Joseph Smiths personal physician. She dug a bullet out of john taylor when he was shot protecting joseph smith from an angry mob that murdered him.

Having said that there came a time in my life when i had to make a choice for myself and i did, later in life i was actually excommunicated from my church. After i got out of jail i could have left the mormon church behind but i knew it was true so i worked really hard and made as many amends as i could and was rebaptized when i was living in San francisco, interestingly enough the eagles have been with me through most my journey through life. Sports is weird, for some eagles football is a religion which is fine ive been able to separate the two, barely😉

Having said that i get where your comment is coming from, and i hope you get where my comment came from in response to 4for4 suggesting i became an eagles fan by throwing a dart at a board.
