Thats what i was wondering. I always see the qb or center pointing out the MLB but for the defense are they designating a strong or weak side or just calling it balanced?

The QB and/or the center calling the MLB is to count the defenders. It keys the OL blocks.

Sorry i wasnt clear.

Does the defense designate a strong or weak side when facing a balanced formation or just call it balanced or defer to it as the right side strong side in a balanced formation?

Did he not just say Kobe wasn’t a "hero” in Philly?   Like I said.  Yes.  So if that’s what "dillusional” means.  Then so be it.

But "DELUSIONAL”, would be saying Kobe was a Philly hero because Kelce wore his jersey at a practice.  Or Jordan is a bad human because of the false rumor about why his dad was killed.   And the many other theories you throw out.

We totally didn’t go to the moon. Complete hoax

As for the Jordan being a Dbag comment. He was not. I have met Jordan many times and he was always polite and respectful. People don't know how crazy the 90's were with Basketball players. You could not go anywhere without people consistently being up your butt wanting a autograph, or a picture etc. It was not easy just going out for a peaceful dinner. This was world wide as well with Basketball players. Jordan was the best player in the world and had it worse then any sports player in history. talking thousands just waiting to get a view of him and followed everywhere.

Lets also not forget we really did not have a big internet social world yet. No facebook, twitter etc. Mostly everything was word of mouth, or on the nightly news etc. Anyone could make up anything and they did without a way to get instant proof like today. He was truly hated by the Jazz fans. Was even mentioned in the ESPN show. Fact is he stopped him and some other teams single handedly from getting a Championship. Doesnt mean he was a Dbag.

False rumor is like saying very very.

The dude who was implicated in jordans dads death and is doing time doesnt think its a rumor. Predictably the story used to convict him was collaborated by the other dude who made a deal with law enforcement, nothing fishy about that. Looks fishy smells fishy its probably fishy. Also fishy that they werent able to further exam the body because it was creamated. Nothing fishy about that😒

Whats even more fishy is that you are so quick to discount justify or minimize any of jordans misdeeds...

I amended my previous response because it did not answer your question directly.  Defenses are built on gap coverage. If you're a DT and line up between the C and G, your gap is the A gap. A NT who lines up directly on the nose of the C is a two-gapper - both A gaps.(Quick aside - teams that run a 3-4, if they have a legit NT, he's worth his weight in gold because he frees up a defender since he covers two gaps.) A MLB usually has two-gap coverage, which is why the O identifies him and keys their blocking responsibilities accordingly. If the play is designed to run right against a traditional 4-3, the C and RG will double the LDT and one of them, usually the G, will then release to the MLB. That's assuming the MLB is lined up in the middle. If the MLB shades one side or the other the blocking responsibilities change. Hence the pointing out of the MLB.

I hope that makes some sense.

Yup i get gaps and gap responsibility. We ran a 52 in high school and had a nail or near call the MLB would give to the NT. NaiL told the NT to shade to the left as the MLB was blitzing the A gap on the right and neaR for opposite side.

So question is does the MLB shade to one side of the formation depending on where the strong side or weak side is and if its a balanced offensive formation im assuming their is no shade by the mlb or that the formation isnt given a strong or weak designation. I realize Sams and WiLs will often flip when the offense flips or motions as will the MLB as the offensive strong side and weak side change but in a balanced formation does the defense designate an offensive strong side or do they just see its balanced and drop the strong weak designation or designate the right side strong by default?

@Utebird - circling back... I’m totally using the "kicked out of the Mormon church because I was in jail” line to try and pick up chicks at the bar when things open back up....  Thanks for that!

It is just disrespectful and unseemly to implicate Michael Jordan's behavior in the death of his father.  There is simply no  evidence that is the case.   There were 2 defendants.  Neither were implicated they were both convicted and both sentenced to life in prison.  One of them, Demery confessed to being a participant in the robbery and testifed against Daniel Green.  Demery contended the plan had just been to rob Jordan but Green shot him.  To my knowledge, Green has never said anything other than he was innocent of the crime.  I'm not sure how he could contend he's both innocent and that he has knowledge of some larger conspiracy to kill Jordan's father.  That seems far fetched and fantastical. There's a bunch of evidence that he participated in the robbery.

Yes.  Mostly because the SLB would cover the TE and the WLB could have RB duties.  But the origin of the discussion was Mr Mormon was trying to say the reason why it’s called strong side is because that’s the same side as the QB’s throwing arm.   Yes, that very well may be most of the time.  But that’s not where the term came from.

I would wonder if the term strong side actually pre-dates the forward pass.  So what difference would the handedness of the quarterback make.

Never has time for anyone, gets pissed if anyone, ever, asks for an autograph.

When they started doing pre season games in other locations the Jazz played in Spokane.

At the airport as they were leaving, he had an area blocked off in the terminal so no one could get to him.

Meanwhile, Antoine Carr had everyone on the concourse around him, telling jokes, signing autographs, having a good old time with everyone there.

I'll just leave this here.

Super Bowl XV ReMatch.  Bet accordingly ( Just made you a lot of $$ if you a Smaht boy)

So are going to see Chase Young go after Dillard week one? Find out pretty quick if the kid's been doing his homework.

I remember being in Cleveland in ‘06 - was waiting outside of Hotel for girlfriend at the time  and didn’t realize it but the Minnesota Twins were in the same hotel.

While I’m waiting for my Human Rain Delay girlfriend,  there’s 5 little kids waiting outside too. Couldn’t have been 10 years old. I ask "what are you guys up to?”

" Waiting for some of the Twins to come out we’re trying to get some autographs "

Cool I thought, I used to try to get them as a kid too.

Within 15 seconds Justin Morneau the Twins Firstbaseman walks outside by himself, and as the kids politely ask/beg for his autograph he just blows by them by 50 feet. Waits for a valet to drive a car up for him takes the keys, hops in and drives away. Not a thank you to the guy or tip, no acknowledgement of the kids.

I’m not gonna pretend to know what it’s like for people to ask for my autograph. But I do remember thinking "what a F’ing Dbag”.

One of them claimed hes innocent. I posted an article about it a few pages back. Then again all inmates say their innocent.

Im not up to speed on all the details its been a while since ive delved into it. The article where one of them refutes the official story i believe is from 2019 because hes up for parole hearing.

There have been enough rumors and rumblings over the years to give it some credence.

I dont find it disrespectful at all. I find not wanting the truth or ignoring minimizing justifying or hiding it to be disrespectful. The whole investigation smells fishy but doesnt really matter truth always lies somewhere in the middle as with most things and one day the truth will come out.

RIP his dad.😞

For every story of stockton being stand offish with media and fans there are 100s of others of him showing up unannounced at a childrens hospital without any press or cameras and spending the day with sick kids or old ladies. Like i said its what one does when no one is watching that matters.

Some of them are d bags.  When the Seahawks held their training camp at Eastern Washington University, as an autograph collector I went out a couple different times.

Some guys are really cool about it, some guys are total d bags.  I didn't mind if they blew me off, but to not sign for a kid wearing your jersey is not cool.
