He is on the roster.

And they went into 2020 with the plan that Dillard would be their LT. He’s out for the season, so things change.

And, no the people on these boards are only saying JP should be the LT because of Dillard’s injury. So I’d suggest you stop putting words in our mouths.

This is surprisingly the most coherent he’s ever been in here.

In other words, don’t waste your breath.

Catching up...  LOL  This place cracks me up.

@Mrkingofspades keeps quoting @TrotterIsGod..  @e-a-g-l-e-s eagles! asks him why he is doing it, Spades says, "Meh, might as well see if he has something interesting to say."

And then after what is SURELY an edit after thinking about it...  "He doesn’t though."

Watkins on IR to start the year?

Do you need to keep a 6th WR after him?

I know Caplan and Mosher liked what Burnett has done.  But he'd easily get to the practice squad, IMO.

Yeah, I think it's odd for him to come out and with that scathing of an article towards JP without any actual quotes from JP.

Don't look now but the Phillies actually look like they're turning things around...

49ers cut Erick Swoope, TE.  Eagles should sign him and then they would have Swoop, Swoope and Swoopes.

I’ll believe it when they actually go over .500 they were there a week and a half ago then proceeded to lose 5 straight.

If we didn't have to protect our franchise QB, I'd cut Peters out of principle. He signed on knewing he might have to play OT if Dillard got hurt.

Peters didn't give back his salary when he got hurt in 2012 and missed the entire season. He didn't give back his money when he tore his ACL in 2017, or when he took himself out of multiple games last year. So no, Jason, you don't get a pay bump.

Direct deposit that crap

Isaac Seumalo has great positional flexibility.  If the injury shuffle had left us turning to him as the LT and he pulled that, you all know what everyone would be saying about him.  Same thing for any other OL on the team.

Perhaps we are seeing why the market for JP was kind of flat. The Eagles have to turn the page on him and utilise other players for the future of the franchise.  Of course, Lane was drafted to be the LT of the future 😉.

I'm sure it sounds hypocritical, but that's the one team I don't make comparisons to.  Best QB ever, Best coach ever,  always 1 step ahead......6 SBs in the last 20 years.  The respect is there no matter what the locker room is like.  The Patriots are in a different stratosphere.

A great point I heard from some reporter recently when talking about Joe Judge, and I can't quote it exactly, but it was along the lines of "Every single head coach from the Bill Belichick tree that tries to coach like Bill Belichick......fails miserably."

Mike Florio has been saying similar things and mentioned that the BB coaching tree always say "we will be nothing like him" and end up being just like him.

And finally. I caught the Jerry Jones presser this week.  Man he needs to go the dentist and get his teeth cleaned. He's clearly a coffee sort of guy and even Austin Powers would be disgusted.

Great point.  Perhaps Peters should venmo Vaitai his salary for the seasons and games he missed.

The Eagles could have signed a RG with NFL starting experience (as an interior lineman).

Instead, they chose Peters because of his LT flexibility and leadership history with the team.  Now, they need to lean on precisely those two things...and he's squeezing them.

What would Bill Belicick do?  You already know the answer.

All you guys who are wringing your hands about what Peters might have said remember this is a business, you've said so yourselves.  In business you make the best deal for yourselves that you can.

Yup.  And he already did.  The ink isn't even dry on the contract.

Then I suppose if you ever get hurt on the job, you’d not deserve worker’s compensation.

If Peters wants to take advantage of the situation and hold the team hostage, I'd give him 2 options.  Either cut him now or offer him a highly incentivized contract that relinquishes his current guarantees and base salary.  If he plays 16 games at LT, then he makes excellent money and a huge raise.  Every false start, holding penalty, series he sits out, and game he misses can take him all the way down to the vet minimum.

If he wants real-time salary adjustments, then live by the sword and die by the sword.

And I suppose they should offer the same decrease in salary to any of them amongst the offensive line that commit a penalty.

I don't see anyone else asking for a raise just because they became more important after an injury.

In fact, I've never heard of this before.  Players holding out because they feel they outplayed a contract?  Sure.  Heard of that one.  Demanding a raise because the guy in front of you got hurt and you need to play a more important position...when you signed your contract 1 month ago???  That one is new.

He looked a trillion times better at RT his rookie year than Dillard did.
