I was worried he would be out longer. Sad that four weeks is a win.

I really hope this BS with Pryor and Mailata at LT is all about getting them reps as backups and Peters will be there soon enough.

So do i. Even with peters there still cause for concern backup wise as he misses time. I’m for bringing in cordy Glenn. isnt great but at least he’s a competent backup if something happens.

In terms of team priority, I can't get away from Lane moving to LT. It's not an easy job by any means, but if one of Driscoll, Mailata or Pryor  are more comfortable on the right, it has to be up for consideration.  Having JP mentor a new RT makes a lot of sense and minimises his limitations.  Next year can dealt with when we get there

I think people are discounting how big of a loss brooks is going to be and how bad LT could be with pryor playing LT. Just cause vaitai was able to do it in 2017 doesn’t make it the norm. Who would’ve thought that vaitai might have been the eagles biggest loss this offseason.

Peters will be the LT.

You guys were talking about smokescreens earlier.  I'm sure that is part of this and I'm willing to bet the decision has already been made.  Peters doesn't need to practice at LT before week 1.

edit:  IN FRONT OF MEDIA.  He doesn't need to practice there in front of reporters, and....  Washington Football Team.

Idk you are now having 3 positions of change from what you ideally want. Lane has to learn the left side and basically hasn’t done that all offseason it’s not impossible but i don’t think it’s nearly as easy as people make it sound after years of practicing on the right side. Add on so you have changed 3 starters spots instead of two.

If Peters refuses to play LT he should be cut. Hell, just cut him now.

But I understand your position on Lane. It’s just tough because he’s top 2 or 3 RTs in the league.

Yup. That’s my expectation.

I hope so. Even so you still have concern as he misses snaps or even games. Imo you need to have a better backup then mailata or pryor. I don’t think either are competent enough if peters comes out or gets hurt.

Lurie is a great owner.

Most defensive ends line up over the RT these days or over the weakest Tackle. How many times in the last few years has Lane shut down the best defensive end so the opposing team put the best rush end on Peter's side? This isn't the old days where team just bang their heads against the wall and keep putting their best rusher against the left Tackle.

Meanwhile blitzer and harris....

The coaches may not want to move JP to LT at all.  I am not underselling the hard work it will take, but where do you want your best OT playing?  The OL is already moving around, so thinking outside of the box, what is better for Week 10 rather than just Week 1? Hard to know.

That’s not my concern. My concern is you have to do everything opposite of what you did on the right side on the left side. That’s not easy. that Is muscle memory of doing it consistently practice in and practice out. It’s not I’m just gonna go from right side to left side and that doesn’t have any influence on what I have to do with my hands and my feet and everything like that. You saw last year with dillard struggled with that As he only exclusively played LT and they asked him to do RT with a week of prep. It’s not easy. Granted Lane is a better player and been in the league longer but that doesn’t mean it’s just an easy transition.

Add on what you said i wouldn’t do it.

Reagor has a small labrum tear.

I still think you’re changing three positions instead of changing to. Plus it’s going to take Lane time to get that down. Add on it’s not as if lane hasn’t gone up again some of the best defense of ends in the game at right tackle. Furthermore we don’t even know if pryor or mailata can play right tackle either. So you’re making Lane go over to the other side and it’s gonna take him time and we still don’t have a definitive answer if pryor or mailata can even play right tackle at a high enough level. If I were a defensive coordinator and I saw pryor or mailata out there at right tackle or left tackle I would line up my best pass rusher against them every single time regardless of where lane is

Well I'm mostly saying moving lane helps nothing. Teams will just attack the right side then. This notion that you just need a good LT is prehistoric teams line up their  best defensive lineman over the weakest link now.

Why do i get the feeling he’s going to come back and re-aggravate the injury cause they should’ve just had the surgery to repair it. It’s a 8-12 week recovery from surgery. Meaning if he has it now he comes back week 6-7. There’s a chance he doesn’t play until week 3 anyway and high chance of re-injuring it

Because that's what we have experienced the last 4 years.

Well crap. My Reagor bet with @4for4EaglesNest is looking worse and worse.

Might need surgery after the season I guess. Definitely keeping Hightower and Watkins.

Totally.  I'm thinking longer term than week 1 and if the deficiencies of other players can be hidden better elsewhere.  At this point you are moving 2 players anyway so my thought is what is better for week 10, week 11, etc?  Esp with a QB that fumbles the ball a lot.
