Neither here nor there, but Deontay Burnett is somehow only 22 years old. I had forgotten he was the youngest player in the 2018 draft.

He might not have been physically prepared for the NFL.

Any Electrical Engineers in the blog? I'm more of a CS guy but my oldest son is a Junior in HS and has expressed interest in EE.

Right now he's doing all his schoolwork online due to COVID restrictions and he tells me every day that he's done in 2-3 hours. He's got all As in advanced math and science classes and a couple Bs. I'm worried this pandemic is stunting his education and we both agree that if there's an option then let's supplement.

My middle son has been taking Udemy programming courses and I have him enrolled in comptia A+ for now. I want to enroll my oldest into an online course or two in basics/fundamentals of EE and am hoping someone has good suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

My son is an aerospace engineer and his roommate and buddy from college is a nuclear engineer.  A close friend of mine has a daughter who is an EE and my wife works at a medium sized engineering firm.   The better positioned of the engineers took AP calculus AB as juniors and BC as seniors and AP physics as juniors and advanced physics as seniors.  My son, who reached six figures at three years out of college, took programming in high school and college.  The key is not just understanding the language but writing his own. My friend’s daughter can write her own ticket. Very skilled and a woman. My wife works with a lot of EEs doing construction.  Good college, self starters that are accurate in their work and know the help tools are great but reporting, documentation and billing are key.  There communication documentation and how it is worded and presented is extremely important to the business and the boss.  Management abi, ities, built from leading in clubs or organizations helps a lot.  My son got that in football in HS and in his frat at college. He was an officer in several engineering groups in college.  Hope that helps some.  Sounds like your kid has a good start.

Hell of a day in here, fellas.

85% of you guys can't even talk about football competently. No one gives a fat fuzzy F about your moronic opinions and conspiracies on epidemiology and politics. You didn't "crack the code". You didn't "see the truth".  You're an idiot who is drastically overestimating the importance of your stupid little opinions. Reading your asinine nonsense is making the rest of us dumber. Please stop it.

Edit: Flat Earth stuff is still cool. That stuff is hilarious.

This ended up being the best post, btw.

Seriously, we got 12 more freakin days till football.  We should make an attempt as a group to keep things cool.  @4for4EaglesNest has been right the whole time.  This is not the place.  And it's just not worth the keystrokes.

Hell, I even attempted to try CVON for the 1st time... and everything you guys warned me about is true.  F that place!  Cesspool.  Everything repeats, the same arguments go on and on, and everyone on either side is dug in like Alabama ticks.  Nobody convinces anybody else of anything.  Its not discussion, its just depressing.

There is no reason for any of that angst, that anger, here.  I have no intentions of going back there again, and def don't care to discuss or read that stuff here.  Not another word from me, I promise.

12 more days, baby.  We can do it.

btw, Wentz 3 tds 350 , we sack Haskins 9 times.

Thanks, all great info.

Right now he's in AP pre-calculus and physics. He's the incumbant captain of the JV wrestling team and also next to be the varsity wrestler in his weight class if/when the season starts for his junior year. He's also a cadet Lt Col in his AF JROTC class.

He wants to go AF academy but I've been trying to steer him towards U of Illinois, Purdue, or *dry heaves* Michigan.

I'm just looking for whatever online education he can get during the pandemic because his current regimen of schoolwork really isn't challenging him.

Interesting rankings.  The back end of the better half is a lot better than I was expecting from Graham/Barnett, but this is reassuring to see this perspective.  Of course, everyone has been bashing the lists from these guys recently, as most other ones have not been as favorable for the Eagles.

Young/Sweat lose points for being young and unproven, but #21 seems awfully low.

It looks round here — how do the flat earthers explain it:

image.thumb.jpeg.e09fbc4c4a1b14d679671bfdb29bb296.jpeg

The claim is that it’s due to a fish eye lense or barrel distortion which somehow has the capability of drastically distorting the edge of the earth Only, but not making anything else severely curved.

I maintain my position that flat earthers are the dumbest people on the globe.

Die hard is a doctor? Of what?  D7 and E45 actually are. He also thinks he is a better lawyer than NCIggles or Afan, who both actually are.  He is right that I tend to be verbose.  Probably because I come from the letter writing generation and not the Twitter generation.

I thought you were taking a shot at D7 I must of missed a post somewhere that it was about diehard. I'm sorry

"If you don't like it you can leave". If people want to talk about politics and COVID conspiracies I have zero issue calling idiots out. Not all opinions deserve respect.

Everyone thinks their opinion matters, just like you here. And while you think others opinions makes them idiots, I'm sure some think yours do too. I can honestly say the last 10 or so years if you have an opinion on something even if it's wrong you can find "facts" somewhere that back it up. The truth used to be the truth and now its "subjective". All that said I don't believe any politician from either side anymore. I believe covid is definitely real, but I also believe that it has been mishandled and blown out of proportion by both sides of our government.

I freaking hate the way things are going in this country right now. Both repubs and dems are the cause of it and they should be ashamed of themselves. If this country crashed and burned I doubt many in government would care.

Sorry for the rant as H.E. said about you I needed to vent.

Agreed, my doctor didn't know why a grocery store would be busy during a pandemic 🤯

AFA is definitely a good school a good school with the added benefit that it's paid for.

From your post it looks like you did a pretty good job.

Eagles clearly not top 10, but also in the mid around 15 works for me. We also have better depth than most teams at EDGE. If we included all DEs, I'd probably put the Saints #1.

Also, there's a lot of teams that want to compete that could use Clowney.

If there is going to be a season I just wish it would start already. I need something to take my mind off of the constant onslaught of covid/riot nonsense. (I said riot not protest)

fact- Hospitals struggled financially though the height of the pandemic.

Like many other businesses hospital employees were not safe from furlough or layoff.

Many in my hospital have dealt with that. Those of us who had work are also not getting a raise this year. We also have a hiring freeze so will be short staffed for quite a while. And are already working extended hours to try to catch up on patient load since there is such a huge backlog of patients who we werent able to see for months.

The system lost a TON of money. Hospitals throughout the country did.

COVID has not been a moneymaker for hospitals. The exact opposite is true.

I mean outpatient and elective surgery is the biggest money make in orthopedic practices and hospitals. I bet the numbers for surgeries in April and May were less than half of what was for a normal month.

Hate to inform you guys, level's so low think I'll go back to the MTV shtick but your eval of line play is atrocious.

With the addition of Hargrave, no doubt the Eagles have a low end top 10 Front. Wouldn't throw them up there as the best.  Eagles D Line is good, just needs to stay healthy.

And the O Line may be the best they've had in years, if all you experts in the Media can get the "___" out of the way.

First, we went to the "SoundByte" , then it was the "Vine", then the "TikTok".

Now if some agent hasn't Disney marketed you out the wazoo b4 the start of every season, you can't "play".

I agree on the d-line.  I think Jackson, Hargrave and Cox are the best depth the team has had at DT since Mike Pitts, Mike Golic and Jerome Brown.  I don't think anyone is going to confuse Barnett/Graham with Reggie White/Clyde.

I think the o-line has a lot of uncertainty at the LT or RG position. If Peters moves to LT, then there's less uncertainty there but Pryor is a downgrade at the position.  Right now without Peters at LT I have no idea who the starter will be.

Barnett's coming along and you have to understand if you're in that age group, you're uh "tainted".

The League hasn't seen anything like that line in decades. Only thing that was comparable was mid 80's Bears.

Heck they changed all the rules . That style doesn't even play anymore. It's a different game.

My daughter works for a doctor (she's a nurse) the hospital laid off like 200 employees during the pandemic (she wasn't one of them) I just found it odd that we were worried about overwhelming hospitals and then what we actually did was almost kill them.

It’s time for me to pay up and eat crow.  I was wrong.  It looks like we’ll have a season and I don’t believe the season will be cancelled partially the way through. We’ve seen the baseball model and I have to imagine the NFL will have more controls in place and keep a better eye on their players.  Sometimes it’s best not to be first.  I am rarely wrong.  But when I do, I admit it.  (In here at least)

Small blip for me. We all have opinions, these are "unprecedented times" 😆. How the hell are we supposed to form good opinions about what the future holds?
