See my above post.  I called the Sam Bradford trade when Teddy tore his ACL and people thought I was crazy.  I don't doubt for one second Howie is looking at teams who are losing players.  Shoot with Chung out, trade Rodney to NE.  Let's see what the young safeties have.

Disappointing for the team, but support any player who wants to opt-out.

I'm curious if there's a trade clause in the NFLPA agreement about trades. It makes a lot of srnse to take advantage of those new needs, but waiting until after the opt out deadline to trade a guy seems like kind of a D move.

They won’t cause the the money it eats at their cap space in 2020 that rolls over. Although does clear 13 mil in cap in 2021 by trading him now.

Makes it simpler to keep Watkins and Hightower now. I would not be surprised if the eagles look to deal or pick up another veteran wr

From Mosh Pits to just a buncha old guys grumbling about pains in the back. Shite brother. My knees are shot. Still want to have fun.

Ah F that's really disappointing. Can't blame the guy though.

What is the cap implication of a player opting out ??

He'll go down as a legend in Philly lore along with Frank Gore and LeCharles Bentley

Goodwin has a 1-year deal right?  This actually could benefit the Eagles.  Say one of Hightower, Watkins, JJAW don't work out.  They know Goodwin (not a sure thing but a fast as heck vet) is locked in for 2021.  RIght?

Someone tell Carson and the rest of the team to take the year off

Is he the first Eagles? It's understandable. I don't know the impact to cap. Hopefully teams don't get screwed over by players opting out

Control tolls, so basically it's on pause. His 2020 cap numbers become 2021, his 2021 cap numbers become 2022, etc.

Goodwin opting out does technically create cap room for 2020, but it's not a big move.

Probably looked at the numbers and realized he wasn’t making the team. Did he sign his renegotiated contract?

Gotta wonder about Carson. He showed up which is good, but I wouldn't be surprised if he opts out if this first round of testing goes poorly, new kid and all. Same with Foles whose wife had that miscarriage last year but just recently gave birth.

Eh my opinion on Goodwin is he’s had like 1 good season and rest of the time he’s hurt or not been very productive

I thought Goodwin was our most likely opt out based on his wife’s health.

Not like it matters or is material but kinda sucks that trade was pointless now. oh well.

Do players that opt out still count against the cap?

We can't plan our lives based upon a vaccine if you ask me.  We will be stuck in this crappy 2020 world forever if that's the case.  I'm not a doctor but a quick search shows that the flu vaccine is 40-60% effective in reducing the risk of getting the flu. So let's play the average and say 50% of the time it works.  On top of that only about 50% of the population gets the flu shot.  With those percentages, the flu vaccine works on only 25% of Americans.

Are you willing to keep life on hold for a vaccine that A. hasn't been developed yet, and B. might only work for 25% of the country?

In my opinion it's ridiculous to say we need to hold out for a vaccine.  If and when they develop a vaccine and people decide to get it, great.  However, we can't live life dependent on a vaccine.

This is why I don't understand all of the hate towards Hydroxychloroquine.  From reports I've read, it isn't a cure but it does help in certain cases.  If it can help even a small amount that's a good thing in my opinion.  I've never in my life seen people so against a potential aid in fighting a disease all because one man said it's good.

@HazletonEagle   am I way off track in this thinking?

There are currently scientists believing that a herd immunity of 20% may be the magic number to stomp this out.

IF they are correct,  then even with a limited population getting the vaccine, and it working for only half,  that may be enough.  Add on top of that those with natural immunity from having the illness... I think even an early,  not necessarily extremely effective vaccine can make a world of difference.  Literally.

No one knows... but there's a good chance.
