Yesterday at 11:54 AM1 day EVs produce far less pollution as long as they're driven more than 20k or so miles in their lifetime.Batteries are highly recyclable. It's a silly argument to try and make against EVs.

Yesterday at 12:26 PM1 day 16 minutes ago, DrPhilly said:Yes as long as they actually get recycled. There is a strong financial incentive to recycle them nearly 100% of the time. They're very valuable.Even 10 year old batteries from an EV have strong charge retention. And a lot of value in rare earth material.

Yesterday at 12:31 PM1 day Author 10 minutes ago, paco said:Yeah. Why would they want to lower material cost?Right but today it isn't always cheaper for a variety of reasons including the lack of infrastructure and the costs of meeting govt regulations. Overall the rates for all lithium battery recycling are quite low but the car batteries haven't really reached EOL yet for the most part and the regulations are stricter for those which add cost but also increase the requirements to recycle. Hopefully, all that will sort itself out.

Yesterday at 01:33 PM1 day Welp the cheapest gas stations near me finally increased. One went +15c and the other +30c

Yesterday at 02:08 PM1 day Jet fuel's huge price surge points to coming pain from Iran war | Reuters https://share.google/aOkKQuWusSu9gNdLBLAUNCESTON, Australia, March 5 (Reuters) - The explosion in jet fuel prices in Asia is an early indicator that the economic pain of the war in the Middle East is about to become reality for energy consumers.Jet fuel prices in Asia's trading hub Singapore rocketed 72% to $225.44 a barrel on Wednesday, a record high, on worries about future supplies given the disruption of about 20 million barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil and refined product shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.
Yesterday at 02:13 PM1 day A buddy of mine s a green energy energy writer for a major outlet so he test drives a ton of EVs. He got a souped up McLaren Artura last year which was apparently an absolute beast. Thing was worth about $300k. Of course the last time he gave me a ride he just happened to have a Fing Subaru 👎.
Yesterday at 02:17 PM1 day Damn, didn't think we'd start an argument over electric cars. Can we do solar panels next?
