  • Some quick thoughts on "Liberation Day," also known as "Liquidation Day." Obviously, these tariffs are way beyond anything the market expected. I think very little of Trump and the administration

meh, all those deals are coming now...

uhhh... Diehard told me so

Moody’s cited ‘growth in government debt,’ according to CNBC.

That's what I'm talking about. They need deeper cuts.

Honestly, guys, I have to admit that Trump was right about something.

I am, in fact, getting tired of the "winning".

It's early yet.

Plenty of time to get into shape.

And higher taxes?

They let that tax cut expire it's what we're getting. I'd like to see them come up with some more cuts.

Did the US apply for a motorcycle loan?

'cause sometimes you have to wait for like a year before that rolls off your report

Well, we basically applied for a recession by electing a republican president. Since we have co-signers in the house and senate, we’ll probably get it.

Last three recessions:

February 2020

December 2007

March 2001

I don't know man, there does seem to be a trend (although March 2001 is a bit unfair).

Oh no. What happened now??

It was a bad auction on 20 year bonds. Rates went higher, stocks plunged.

Yeah, that's what I meant to say.

Another day of market drop due to Trump tariff mania upcoming

Donald Trump is quite literally one of the dumbest MFers to ever exist.

Singling out one company and penalizing them for making a product overseas is so beyond the pale it's stunning, even for the Orange Imbecile. The EU tariff stuff is bad, but putting a "tariff" specifically on iPhones is bananas and clearly illegal and unconstitutional. If he goes through with this, it will cause financial markets to spasm. For the good of the country, I hope Apple takes the government to court (they will win), but I fear Tim Cook will make a pilgrimage to the Oval and make "concessions" (maybe buy a bunch of the meme coin) to avoid a fight.

Would you call it extortion?

@Arthur Jackson Is that too angsty?
