  • Some quick thoughts on "Liberation Day," also known as "Liquidation Day." Obviously, these tariffs are way beyond anything the market expected. I think very little of Trump and the administration

Apparently you have problems reading your own charts that you post, so here it is again, but with more data points, and with lines drawn showing where Trump was president. Because apparently you think Biden was president in 2020......

Who was president from Jan 2017 to December 2020? Trump or someone else? Did spending go up or down during this time period?

Who has been president since January 2025? Trump or someone else? Has spending gone up or down since this time?

Bump for @Mike31mt

And here's another fun one for you.

2013 Q1 - Spending was 3.758 Trillion. 2016 Q4 spending was 4.175 Trillion. That's an increase of 11% under Obama.

2017 Q1 - Spending was 4.192 Trillion. 2020 Q1 (BEFORE the pandemic hits) spending was 4.866 trillion. That's an increase of 16% under Trump, in an even shorter amount of time!

So in Trump's first term, spending increased at an even faster rate than it had under that big government liberal Obama's 2nd term.

That's reality. Those are the facts. Trump has 0 interest in reducing spending and reducing the deficit. He's a big reckless spending politician just like the rest of them.

bump for @Mike31mt

Trump destroying the US economy one tariff at a time.

BREAKING: Japan REJECTS U.S. Wheat — Signs Billion Dollar Deal With Canada Instead

BREAKING: Japan just rejected U.S. wheat and signed a billion-dollar deal with Canada instead — this isn’t just a trade shift, it’s a direct blow to American agriculture. In this video, we uncover how Japan’s pivot to Canadian wheat is sending shockwaves through U.S. farming communities. Thousands of American farmers are being left behind, while Canada quietly dominates one of the most critical global markets. Why is America losing its grip as the world’s agricultural powerhouse? And what does this mean for food security, rural jobs, and the future of the Midwest? Get the full breakdown of this growing crisis, and why farmers across the U.S. are saying: "We’ve been sold out.”

that's just stupid and false.

Oh thanks for bumping to show that Bidens spending had absolutely nothing to do with the pandemic.

Is that what you're so hot after?

Trumps spending is pretty much right along the trend line

Glad you finally admit that Trump continues to INCREASE spending as compared to your earlier claims.

I never said he's cut spending.

Do I agree with every single thing he's done? No

Is he orders of magnitude better than the Dems? Yes.

Do you agree with his attempt to restructure SNAP benefits?

Or should we only look at non-entitlement spending?

Me: Well actually it was Trump that initially doubled down on the spending in response to the pandemic. And then Biden continued on with that increased spending and added more. And now Trump is going to continue on with that spending. Hence why we are projected to run $2 trillion deficits for the foreseeable future.

You: No he's not. Youre skirting around the fact that Bidens spending was insane and unprecedented.

I just showed you the charts, Trump isn't continuing that.

Trump is very much so continuing that spending, as seen by the very charts you posted but apparently didn't understand.

"Is he orders of magnitude better than the Dems? Yes."

That's totally disingenuous, Trump is not "continuing on with that spending", it's right on the trend line of the pre-pandemic spending, nowhere near what Biden spent which was 100% discretionary and not related to the pandemic at all.

Now you answer my question, where do we cut spending? Should we look at entitlements like SNAP?

WTF are you talking about? Once again, here is the chart. This time I added the trend line of the pre-pandemic spending. The green line is the trend line of pre-pandemic spending. Our current spending is no where CLOSE to that line. So again I ask, WTF are you talking about? Our current spending is just picking up from 2024 Q4 and continuing on from there. Again, that's why we are projected to run 2$trillion deficits for annually for the next decade.

"Now you answer my question, where do we cut spending?"

I think I've answered this question numerous times. 1) get rid of social security, it is a ponzi scheme. 2) defense spending, which is bloated. 3) cut spending across the board in general. But if congress can't come to an agreement on where to cut, then take a % from every single department that balances the budget. We are going to run a $2 trillion deficit next year. We are waaaaay past the point of saying "what part of the budget needs to be cut". It ALL needs to be cut. And when we get to a balanced budget, then we can look at and go "ok maybe there's some areas where we need to increase spending and other areas we can trim to offset that". We aren't close to getting to that point yet.

Fed won't get key inflation data before next rate decision as BLS cancels October CPI release

Fed won't get key inflation data before next rate decisio...

The BLS said it was canceling the release of the October CPI, leaving the Fed without a key piece of inflation data before it next decides on interest rates.

Straight from the "Covid cases will go down if we stop testing for it!" playbook

🤣🤣

@Phillyterp85 just a little edit to your earlier post ...

But if congress can't come to an agreement on where to cut, then take a % of their salary away every month until they do.

Heck I'd say just take away their pay all together.
