We're talking about businesses unaffected by the tariffs, phillytwerp. Now I have five libtards reeing over one of my hottest takes ever, apparently. Who are we missing? Where's that barho ***got? lol

At what point do the smelling salts kick in and you realize that this is the nitty picky silver lining BS hill you've been dying on for the better part of a year now? You have spent zero percent of the year owning the Libs with news of Trump's gangbusters economy, just defending tooth and nail an undeniably lukewarm economy with most indicators pointing downwards.

  • Some quick thoughts on "Liberation Day," also known as "Liquidation Day." Obviously, these tariffs are way beyond anything the market expected. I think very little of Trump and the administration

I have no fewer than 5 libs arguing with me over the point that it's conceivable a company unaffected by tariffs won't raise prices. I'd say I'm doing pretty good against the libs. lol

But WHO CARES?? Tariffs have undeniably raised most prices on goods both foreign and US made. period end stop. Why you flashing your pocket knife around defending such a small and insignificant point?

Did you legitimately conceive of a scenario in which the cost of inputs are significantly increased and yet prices remain the same?

You have it wrong. Input prices going up makes things cheaper.

Everyone on Fox has been saying that illegals are causing the affordability crisis, and they lower the input cost.

I was summoned into this thread by a libtard who decided to randomly lie about previous conversations, then wee man quoted a 9-month old post as some sort of retarded gotcha that relied on performative illiteracy to restart the debate. It is kind of a dumb argument, but it has been entertaining.

You might as well have been talking about the conversion rate of Schrute Bucks to Stanley Nickels. Your economic prowess would be just as useful in that regard.

If you dont eat fruit, fish or drink coffee...

The Types of Imported Foods

The U.S. imported around $148 billion worth of agricultural products in 2020, and according to the USDA, this has since risen to $194 billion in 2022.

Around 50% of all U.S. agricultural imports are horticultural products like fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, and more. Other large import categories include sugar and tropical products, meat, grains, and oilseeds.

  • Fruits & Nuts: Nearly 60% of fruits and nuts consumed in the U.S. are imported.

  • Fresh Vegetables: Imports supply about 32% of fresh vegetables.

  • Seafood: The U.S. relies heavily on imports for seafood, with 70-85% coming from abroad.

I still vividly remember back in January how @Kz! and @lynched1 swore up and down that tariffs were not only not inflationary, they would drive prices down because American manufacturers would WILLINGLY lower prices because they are American loving patriots and employment would explode. The confidence in which they spoke on the topic was unbelievable. If you hadn't read any of their other posts you would have thought they were Harvard educated economists roll

Settle down Krugman Jr.

You're less than year in against Bidens laughable attempt at running an economy for four years.

The original argument was as I recall it, your idiotic claim that Trump's tariffs would have no effect on grocery prices because "the tariffs are only on imports". Grocery prices are up...because of Trump's dopey tariffs. So I am right, you are wrong...again.
