  • Some quick thoughts on "Liberation Day," also known as "Liquidation Day." Obviously, these tariffs are way beyond anything the market expected. I think very little of Trump and the administration

I recently rolled over a small profit sharing a prior company gave me years ago into my current employer's 401k plan.  I have an email where I could log in BUT I just can't do it!!!!!!

Young son paper statement shows -4.54% for 1st qtr before most of this madness started.

Edited to say I did check in on my funds (what little I have) 1st qtr -6.53%

The S&P500 was up 3.8% by 10am.  And the Donald started talking and now it's up 0.07% and will likely finish the day with another loss.  Congratulations...

Companies already halting building facilities and hiring people.

No no, let him celebrate a bit longer.

i'm not talking about anyone on here.

a lot of those who lost are retirees, but hey, we should tell them to stop being poosies, right?

If I follow my plan, I'll start getting hit practically in two years time when I want to be able to start to pull some from my 401k (not a 401k but Swedish equivalent).  I can extend it a year perhaps without changing much but otherwise I'd need to go back to working full time instead of my current semi-retirement, golfing, and traveling setup which I just started.  Either that or I'll have to make some significant lifestyle adjustments.

Bad timing for me but it is what it is.

Going red on your relief rally day is quite the accomplishment.

Quite a drop from his celebration dance and we have 2 hours to go. Not even counting the fact that the tariffs go into effect tomorrow. If all stands pat we will plummet. It was a really strange time for him to declare victory but we know he's just parroting his Twitter feed.

This is what I was talking about about @Diehardfan.  The idea that these tariffs will increase investment in American factories/manufacturing/tech/infrastructure etc during his term seems incredibly naive.

Signs that Trump might be caving...

And this is the thing isn't it.

Sure, the markets will recover but for people like you (and me as I'm discovering 😩), well that's just too bad.

And all because of decisions made we have no control over 🤷‍♂️

He knows he is an angry midget. He can say Velcro all he wants, but after he hits sends he is still a tiny guy in a weak and pathetic body. Probably why he is so angry.

"Could be"? It would be immediate, painful and devastating.

Diehard would still need a year to say it's a bad thing though
