I don’t even know.  My folks live off the income from the house they rent out.  As you probably know they have to make withdrawals from their retirement accounts.  If I’m not mistaken that money gets put back into the stock market.

And now one of the poorest trumpbots who spoke only in unfunny memes until a week ago is trying to give retirement planning advice while pretending nobody should be concerned with a 20% drop in their 401k balances.

after 73 there is a mandatory withdrawal from a 401k, but can that can be deposited into any investment they chose, even a simple savings checking account. My parents are at that age too.

20% drop in a 401k would be 100% invested in the highest t level of risk (small cap ETF), which would be an investor just starting out who has minimal funds to invest, but maximum time for future returns.

Small caps are down 25%, S&P is down 19%. I have about 10% of my portfolio in bonds/utilities/mbs (which are also down), so in total I'm down just over 18% from less than 2 months ago. Yes, someone closer to retirement would have a less aggressive mix, but trying to down play their concerns even if their losses are "only"  14% or 15% is still hilarious knowing you'd be pinching your weiner if this kind of free fall were happening under a Harris administration.

People didn't have to worry about how close they were to retirement when Biden was president.  Just sayin.
