No way they couldn’t bench him.  I couldn’t believe what he did.  If his value wasn’t so incredibly low at the moment, I’d say he’d be trade bait before the deadline.  That was a real red flag about his mental makeup.

If I were playing football at a professional level and the "leader" of the team took himself out because he was tired, I would never want to play with him again.

I have given Hurts a lot of crap over the years, but that dude would never.

At least he could come back into the game.  I seem to remember in the World Cup both Henry and Zidane walking off the field and subbing out because they were tired; pretty sure they were defending champions at the time.

I'm pretty sure most of Covey's receptions were screens.  I'm a big fan of Covey because I respect that he no longer fears death.

But he's not a wide out who's going to win on the outside consistently.

Nope hes not an outside guy but neither has doctson shown he can be and Wilson while has the requisite size he hasnt shown he can create any separation.

Say what one will about watkins but at least defenses had to account for his deep speed, none of the eagles current WRs threaten a defense in that way or any way really☹️

We can't overlook the fact that Covey just isn't a good WR. Guys were mad at Greg Ward and his 9 YPC. Covey, albeit a small sample size, is less than 5 YPC.

Yeah id say 11 catches is a pretty small sample size.

Covey is what he is, a little shifty Returner who can give you some snaps out of the slot.

Thats it, nothing more

I guess the Ravens weren’t happy with Agholor at the #3. Makes no sense since they run more non-11 personnel than anyone

This is the dumbest pick I can remember.  It was consensus across the board that this guy literally sucked at passing, so the gamble was so extreme.  Even casual fans laughed at this pick when it was made.  Now I think back to Trey Lance and Mitch Trubiski, and the 49ers and Bears say, "Hold my beer."

Is that you? Probably taking one of your fiery poops after @Godfather is done with you

And if we had long term injuries to our starters everyone would bish about how we didn’t have any depth.

He’s more insurance than anything, and was never going to be anything more than the 5th option if everyone is healthy.

People are saying that now but not when the trade happened

Calling him insurance is better than saying Hurts doesn't look that far into progressions I guess

I think the Ravens need an impact player on that defense.  Not sure if the needle is moved very much with Johnson catching ballz <-----  🤣

Sirianni many times over the last 3 years has said our passing game is AJ-Devonta-Goedert

Dotson is just a more talented replacement for Paschal/Zaccheus

My problem with Dotson is if we're not going to pass him the ball then he needs to be a good blocker.  That's not happening

He’s a talented but undisciplined player. He free-lanced at MSU and got ish coaching at Washington. Give him a little time, coaching, and peer pressure. He’ll be fine when he gets comfortable with our patterns, timing, and spacing. He’s run some noticeably sloppy patterns that put him too close to other receivers. That can be rectified. Look how Calcaterra has improved. Same draft class.

Sigh. Hurts doesn’t look to him because he does not yet run disciplined routes. He’s a talent; give him time.

Disagree. Hurts has never been able to get many players involved outside of his #1 #2 and TE

You'd expect this rumor, but I'm skeptical.  Phils are already over the luxury tax, so a $40m AAV might end up costing the team $50mil to $60mil per season.  Only way that would work is if you could convince Soto to take less the first few years and then move on from some of your other higher priced guys and jack his salary way up?

I fully expect Soto to be liked to every team with deep pockets, but in the end he probably will be either a Met or a Yankee.

Bobby Bonilla type deal sits on the table as a possibility.

You discounted the win over Cincy by pointing to Higgins.  I was merely noting that you failed to balance your assessment by acknowledging our injuries.

No, I didn't discount anything.  I measured it.  They are a bad team, which is why they have only 3 wins... and those 3 came over worse teams: Browns, Giants and Panthers.   Nothing screams 'good team' about that franchise right now.   Incidentally, two of those teams are 2 of the teams that this team just beat as well.  The Eagles handled their business, but there's still a long way for them to go before they prove that they are actually legit contenders.

Soccer also has no timeouts, subs are permanent, only one break in play for halftime and their players run 7-8 miles per game.

Just a little bit different than football, or any American sport, really.

People were saying it then as well. That was always the big knock on the trade — that we gave up a 3rd for a guy who in all likelihood wouldn’t get many passes.

I doubt he’s available, but if he were, I’d take a flyer on him.

The kid was incredibly raw and needed a redshirt year. Instead they threw him in as a starter and he missed a year with an ACL.

He’s basically still a rookie. He needs at least a year of no pressure and coaching. But his athleticism is incredible.

What he is now is not what he will be.

No… He needs a lot more than that.  The QB that leads a franchise needs to have certain abilities that are not questioned. They need to have certain intangibles that are rather obvious, but inherently necessary. They need to be leaders. It’s not something that can be taught with just going to a better coach… Not usually anyway.

Let another team experiment with him…not the Eagles.

Well the Birds end October with a 3-0 Record.   On to November as Dougie P comes into town for the 2nd time since leaving.   It was a close game last time 29-20.  The Jags are a scrappy team so we can't take anything lightly.   With that said this winning streak has been great and I hope they keep it going.

So much for thinking he could contribute in some way.
