Wonder if you could just make him an edge rusher and simplify his tasks. Be a parsons and just go get the qb

My understanding is he isn’t really a good pass rusher, but he’s just good on well-timed blitzes where he comes untouched.

If White was that bad, then not jumping on this deal was a mistake. All the Titans sent was a 2026 5th round pick and they got Jones and a 6th in return.

Pretty sure Ernest is equally as bad in coverage, no?

I admit that thought crossed my mind too.  Early in camp he was talking about getting a wake up call and being humble in his situation.  But losing the starting job may have been a deal breaker for that

It is possible. If his ankle was "ok", Dean isn't playing a 100% of the snaps. White would still be getting in plenty of work. I won't be surprised if the next thing we hear is he's traded.

I think we'll have some gelling issues in the early season, but should be humming later season. I'm thinking we'll get 1 fluky loss, but this year we beat the Cowboys twice. 14-3

Week 1 - Team tries to make up for the end of last season, beating GB 31-24.

Good to have you back.

Still think we need to offer up something for Muma.  Can only pound that table so hard

Why shouldn't he?   Doesn't the First Amendment of the US Constitution guarantee him that right?  You don't have to listen.  That is your right also.

I'm saying her can endorse whoever he wants to it's in very bad taste to use the Eagles organization to force his political beliefs on the fans and other people in that organization.  No other professional sports team does that and that's the way it should be.

As much as the White signing sucks and I'm pissed at Howie for not doing more, Dean winning the job was always the ideal scenario. Now we'll see if that means he won because the competition sucked or he won because he's actually good now.

Yep. There were so many decent LBs to sign and we picked the worst on-field fit possible.

It was such a ridiculous fit that I assumed Fangio had to have signed off on it and had a specific vision for his fit. Now I assume it was just Howie chasing a theoretical buy-low LB with pedigree.

Absolutely pathetic, no way around it. Over 50 mil under the cap, which is the most in our history by the way, a huge weak ass position almost every year, and this was the solution? This is on Howie, but his pro talent evaluators and lieutenants failed too. They have to find better fits/players to push.

Fair enough.  Perhaps you should have started with that kind of nuanced opinion rather than your customary approach.

Interesting choice of QBs to have as the faces here. James Harris, Doug Williams, Warren Moon, Donovan McNabb and Mike Vick all 100% belong. But missing in that timeline is Randall Cunningham. Randall changed the face of the game. Randall brought in new fans and created fans for life. He's the reason I and many others are Eagles fans to this day. Not having Randall but having Dak, Russ, Cam and even Jalen is a head scratcher. Shoot, I'd say Daunte Culpepper should be included before those 4 guys. Anyway, I'm sure this will be interesting and it's important to a lot of people. I can honestly tell you I never looked at a QB's skin color. I always liked excitement and big plays. Randall and John Elway were the two QBs I loved as a kid. The ability to scramble and make plays just captured me. Not only that, Randall was the epitome of cool in the 90s. He was a symbol.

Steve "Air" McNair should definitely be included here as well, along with Randall as you have stated...Maybe include Rodney Peete, simply because he married a stunner...

Maybe Devin doesn't play much in week 1 and they use the injury excuse.

Called this one.

I felt, and still feel, that we have 4 backup LBs on our roster. That's better than last year, but still not good. So losing White for Trotter, Dean, Baun, etc. won't make much difference.

They may have reached out to him and he may have declined or chose to participate in a limited manner.

The demographic they are aiming for probably doesn't even know who Randall is

That would be even more true for Doug Wiliams or whoever that rams QB is.

38 minutes ago, mattwill said:

Do you have a score prediction to go with that assessment?

I'll say:

Eagles - 34

Packers - 27

Most stadiums are publicly funded. The decision to do that therefore becomes a political decision. You can't live in a vacuum

You're obviously not a proponent of black hole cosmology, which is the theory that our observable universe is, in fact, inside a black hole -- and there is a larger universe outside which we cannot observe.  Those folks would tell you that you can't not live in a vacuum.

True but he was the first black QB to win a Super Bowl so I get why he's there.

I'm just not surprised at all they have tons of currently popular QB's on there and not dudes from the 80's-90's

Not to look ahead but who are some LBs who could be available at the trade deadline? Remember, it's a week(or is it two weeks) later this year.

That account seems very legit. Lots of good old fashioned journalism went into all those tweets.

I would have a really hard time believing Kyle Shanahan wouldn’t get another head coaching job. I don’t see him going back to being a OC when he’s had the type of success he’s had. I think there would be teams that would hire him if they let go of their coaches at the end of this year. Frankly if Buffalo or bengals disappoint, i could see them moving on and him being a serious contender if the niners fire him. Kind of think both NY teams would be in on him if they moved on from their coaches

I agree with you on the Trey Lance ordeal. I also think they handled the Jimmy G thing poorly as well. By the end of that, it was known that there was massive issues going on between Jimmy G, Kyle Shanahan, and the 49ers. I don’t think they handle that well either.

Very likely.   The only question I have about him is how he turtles up in big spots.   But, he'd likely do that as an OC just like he did in Atlanta.

Wasn’t meant to be taken seriously. Also kelce PR team responded to the Reddit leak of the papers saying it was false
