So this soft, cupcake like training camp produced two significant defense injures to starters/top reserves that will cause the players to miss the opener, if not longer.  Just great.

If Q starts and/or gets a lot of snaps it will be a nice change for a rookie defensive player. They often limit rookie snaps even for 1st rounders. Excited to see a 1st round corner start as a rookie.

Green Bay I think is switching from a 4-3 to 3-4 after a bad defense last season,so they have similar issues.

Probably a sloppy first half followed by a nail biter second half.

Correct… They also have a new defensive coordinator that is coming from the college game. We are not the only team that’s undergoing changes. It’s a guessing game on their part too.

To be honest, there is a part of me that thinks we could just completely blow the doors off of the Packers.  I think the Jordan Love hype train could derail them a bit.  Part of it is recently bias. He is not a QB that has completely arrived.  I keep hearing people talk about his great second half of the year… And he did play a heck of a lot better the second half of the season compared to his first half.  But he still ended the season by losing and throwing two interceptions.  He ended his season with a passer rating of 72.  He did not become immortal over the 7-8 months off-season.  LaFleur comes from the McVay tree I believe… I’m pretty sure I read he’s on record of saying the hardest defense that style offense faces is a Fangio defense.

Week 1 is always fun but very stressful… Sometimes I think it’s fun because it’s so stressful.  And in a couple of weeks we’ll find out we didn’t know what we thought we knew.. and learn new things.

This is a little silly. He has a bad game against the NFC champs that lost in OT...and they still had a tight game.

I do think that he definitely needs to prove himself still, but he has shown a lot so far.

Our defense was trash the second half of last season and GB has a ton of solid targets to spread the ball to.

Eagles- 27

Packers- 31

- If Jalyx Hunt dresses, he gets 2 sacks.

- DeVonta and AJ both get 100 yards.

- Hurts throws 2 INTs but 300+ yards

- Ringo, pick 6

This is the craziest parlay of predictions I’ve seen in 30 years

Before this season kicks off tonight I just wanted to say to all the folks here at TATE:

I hope you all have an awesome season as a fan of your hated Eagles. I have picked the Eagles to go 13-4 and lose in the NFCCG, I think there is a decent chance you guys make the SB...that said...

I hope two of the Eagles' four losses come at the hands of the even more hated Cowboys, whom I think will finish the year at 10-7, 11-6 at best, and possibly missing the playoffs altogether this year. As long as six of the wins they do get are in division I'm good 😆.

Enjoy the season, may it be as injury free as possible. Drink beer, cuss at the TV, question everything in the event of a dreaded loss...most of all just have fun with it. Ya'll are a great group of fanatics.

LaFleur is a Shanahan guy. He spent one year under McVay as the OC. But he was brought into the NFL as an Offensive Assistant when Shanahan was OC. Then followed him to Washington and then Atlanta as QB coach while Shanahan was OC for 6 years.

Rodgers injury aside the defense is concerning to me again. The only player I really have confidence in is Carter. The biggest question mark that not a lot of people seem to bring up is Huff. He needs to have a really big year and is being paid to be the team’s premiere edge rusher. We all know Sweat probably can’t elevate to that role. It does have potential though, there’s just a lot of guys that they need to have to hit the ground running between Huff, Mitchell, CJGJ, and Dean. I have a bad feeling we’re going to be in linebacker purgatory again this year where guys are shuffling in and out. But if they can just be average throughout the first few weeks before they gel, the offense should be able to pick them up.

But they’re really going to need one of these guys between Nakobe, Nolan Smith, Jalyx Hunt, DeJean, and Quinyon to break through. Milton Williams is my pick for that role.

It’s not silly… That was his passer rating.  My point wasn’t to say that he sucks, or even sucked that game… I think Love is going to be an outstanding QB long term.  My only point was all you hear about now is how his stock is going way up, and Hurts is going down.  It’s recently bias.  That’s my point.  There will be a lot of ‘wind-socking’ in the media in the coming weeks.  Love is capable of having a bad game just like anybody else.

And there’s no need to tell me about our defense last year… It’s just another reason why I think all the shade being thrown at Hurts, and the offense in general, is overblown. The biggest problem on the team last year was definitely on the defensive side. There were certainly issues on the offensive side, but they weren’t nearly as bad as the other side.

I think you guys end up grabbing a good veteran LB before the deadline this year, a can't miss kind of LB, not like what happened last year.

How many edibles did you consume to have this take?

He is both a Shanahan and McVay guy…but yeah, most recently McVay.  As any HC has done, I’m sure he has learned from those before him.  I expect he’s learned from both of them.

And they both have said Fangio is the D they most fear.  I’m sure they are not shaking in their boots, but when asked the question, that’s how they answered.

I wish I had a few now that you mention it...here is how I come up with this take...

LB is the biggest position of need for the Eagles. They have a talent rich roster. If the season is going as well as it should (W/L wise) and there isn't growth/development at the LB position I think they do whatever it takes to get back to the SB...there are pieces that could be moved.

Put 100 on the Chiefs at - 3, let's start off strong.

Your logic isn’t flawed it’s just we’ve seen this same song and dance for like 30 years. We’ll re-sign Darius Leonard and call it a day, if we’re lucky.

I had to take my helmet off to come up with that logic.

Think one of the Monday morning talking head stories will be the use of guardian caps. Gonna look weird for sure.

Have a weird feeling at some point in the year Oren burks is going to be this year’s Zach Cunningham.

I usually build a cheap $5 team on DraftKings each weekend.

However, tonight I did place a few prop bets.  I bet Mahomes for 300+ passing yds, under for Henry rushing yds (74.5), and over for our favorite ex-Eagle Agholor on receiving yds (16).  No major money bets on these…just for fun.

I did this $5 parlay. I think it’s pretty solid

I've seen DBs play with a big cast wrapped around their broken hand so this has to be something that can't be easily immobilized and still played with. Though that always made me wonder how ishy that backup DB must be that the guy with one functional hand is still a better DB than his backup that has two.

Do you want to rely on a 170 lb one handed corner to tackle?  Defend the run?

Especially when he didn't outplay his backup in the preseason.

lol… you are asking the wrong guy.  My bets were individual wagers, not a parlay.  I’m really not much of a gambler.

This is big news.
