Calais Campbell up there too. A few of us wanted the Eagles to bring him in. I think he would have been a huge help on this DL. Shoot, I'd rather 38 year old Campbell over Davis.

I'm 100% not bias, but Ojomo is going to be good. If you go back to his college tape, he destroyed the Alabama OL and ate double teams like nothing.

This is an odd graph and I don't like it.

One axis (x axis) shows 'difficulty of assignment', but it's flipped in terms how you'd expect this to be.  Harder assignments are on the LEFT, not the right.  BUT, the success of the defender actually affects the score of 'how hard the assignment is'.  So, these two things are not independent at all and it's weird to measure them against each other.  (Chris Jones makes it look like he has an easier assignment, because he does well).

This is also are measuring guys that have played 3 games (Javon Hargrave) against guys that have played 5 games (Jalen Carter).

I can't help but think this was cherry picking some statistics to make Chris Jones look like a stud.

IMO that's a coaching discussion.

They know what Hurts is good/bad at.  They know what the defense is doing.  Put him into a position of success.  If it's a matter of him making improper presnap calls, then either get the call in early and help him with that or take the ability away.

Attacking man coverage vertically is a-okay, I don’t think Hurts was particularly accurate out of the gate and was throwing 50/50 balls otherwise - hence the early inconsistency. CLE was blitzing to hurry up the throws, and to get Jalen on the move (so not completely unforced errors obviously). Later on the mesh crosser was a good go-to/easy read/easy throw if the protection holds.

It would be nice to stack some high percentage throws together to get Jalen in some sort of rhythm. Although it seems like a good pass play on 1st down, turns into a script for the shove.

Because there were glaring issues with the team that made it pretty obvious they would implode.

Then they did

I agree. He said (as several people have) that if Barkley just made 1 play or if this play went another way and they were 4-1 or 5-0 we wouldn't be having these discussions. I'm saying we would just like last year due to the way they are playing, the "ugly wins" continuing.

Is there any part of you that truly believes the FO will allow Nick or any coach to bench Hurts with that contract? No chance in Hell. Only way he gets benched over the next year and a half is by injury.

I think if he were having an awful stretch and had a particularly bad game he could get benched. McNabb got benched and it lit a fire under him, and they went on to get to the NFCCG that year.

It's also not a quick decision. Nick and Howie talk regularly and should be discussing the issues with the team. They fired both coordinators last year and brought in 2 new ones. If Nick is being held accountable and having to share what he thinks is working and isn't...and he's on the hot seat...he would be telling his bosses what they are trying to do to accommodate Hurts.

I don't buy that the front office is afraid to hold the QB accountable. This is a front office that has had no problem replacing QBs. Howie gave Wentz a huge contract then immediately drafted Hurts. Then traded Wentz. If Nick is explaining to Howie and Lurie that they are trying everything they can do work the offense around Hurts strengths but Hurts just isn't the guy, they could potentially see it as another Wentz situation and start to plan to move on. I don't buy that Howie and Lurie feel they have no power or control because they gave Hurts the contract. They have proven to move on from QBs. They fired Doug after he won their first SB. They're not afraid to hold people accountable.

We've seen that Nick wears his emotions on his sleeve, speaks unprofessionally in the media, has outbursts on the sidelines and trash talks fans after games. So what is he like in private? What truths does he share with other coaches and Howie? If Nick has this great offense that he designed in Indy, but for 3 years he hasn't been able to run it because of the QB, and the media and public are calling for him to be fired, and they've replaced his coordinators...it doesn't add up. He would be making the strong case to the front office that Hurts is the problem.

The metric is grade over expectation given the assignment. I am not sure what the expectation is or the basis of the grading.  So this is chart is about as a clear as a stat, wrapped inside of an analytic trapped inside of a football nerd.

Ojomo has been better than Milton Williams this year.

Sometimes a mediocre QB will make the SB, and even win it.

Hurts has been in this league now 5 seasons. Lets be honest, 2022 has been the outlier that people want to keep going back to. It's been downhill since then so chances he gets back to that level are extremely rare. Maybe your willing to wait it out to find out, most including the NFL owners are not that patient. Sadly with that contract we are forced to wait a little longer. Unless by some miracle he has an injury or he does something stupid to land him in jail. One could only hope.

I waited it out with Wentz and didn't want to admit that he was done. Going to wait it out until the out for his contract. If he hasn't seriously come close to 2022 then I'll be back on the "Hurts isn't it" train

He was great week #1 and then quite good against the Saints.  He has been mediocre in the other games.  Overall, he gets a solid to good grade from me and is a big upgrade from last year.  Let's see if he degrades as the year goes on or if he can turn it the other way and get better.

Baun is a competent NFL LB.  That doesn't equate to 'HR' on my grading scale.  BUT, we've become so accustomed to LBs that score an "F", that when we land one that scores a C+/B- it seems to be much higher than it really is when measuring him against the rest of the NFL, and more specifically, against the actual elite LBs.  To get a "HR" status for a FA move IMO, he must be an All-Pro candidate.  I don't think Baun approaches that.  He approaches a guy that isn't a massive liability out there.

He's definitely a big upgrade from last year, but that's more of an indictment of last year's LB room than it is an accolade for Baun.

I’m in a standard scoring league. Got offered Josh Jacobs, DK, Tee Higgins, and Laporta for Gibbs, Kupp, and Kmet. Should I pull the trigger?

Yeah I’d do that. Kupp never stays healthy. Usually good when he is but it’s risk. Rather have Laporta over kmet.  Higgins, DK, Jacobs is good value for kupp and gibbs

Yeah, well I never suggested it was a "HR".  A good solid upgrade over last year is how I see it.

There was nothing to suggest that they would implode/quit the way they did when they were 10-1. Overrated? Yes. Not but 1-6 getting blownout bad.

Whether it was a normal collapse, or a full on implosion, the end result was the same, and it was very clear to see it was coming.

Agreed.  But, the post you quoted, quoted a post that declared it was a "HR".

It would be more in line to compare him to Rex Grossman, Jake Delhomme and David Woodley.
