Anyone want to take a stab at what this means?

So, evaluating draft process doesn't matter?    My focus is on the ROI of that pick.  They are trying to maximize a guy that's disappointed compared to his physical traits.

And I would trade Milton Williams and Jordan Davis straight up for McNeill in a heart beat.   And I'll tell you this... I think that the Lions' GM would laugh hysterically at that offer and then hang up.

Let’s talk ROI.  McNeill next year is $97 million over four years with $28 million guaranteed.   But that kind of goes to my point that ROI is pretty worthless when talking draft capital really pretty much after the second year and arguably the day after the draft. It’s pretty much like buying a new car and driving it off the lot given the rookie pool.

I'll disagree.  The Lions got everything we wanted and more from a 3rd round pick.  The Eagles haven't gotten half of that from a guy they drafted in the middle of round 1.

And now there is talk of whether or not to even exercise the 5th year option on Davis.  Meanwhile, McNeill balled out so much that he earned a massive second contract, which you are now mentioning, which proves how great a pick that was.  There is also talk here about whether or not this team should seek to retain Williams, which again shows what value or lack there of he's provided.  For the Lions, there was no hesitation and they locked up a stud.  That's a massive ROI for the 3rd round pick investment.  Eagles burned a first and multiple mid picks for subpar production and minimal snaps.

The trickle down effect of the trade down in Round 3, missing out on McNeill for peanuts is significant.  For minor draft pick compensation, they get Williams instead of McNeill, and then over correct the following year and over draft Davis.  No minor change.  And in 2 years, maybe less, the Eagles will have neither Williams nor Davis.

I was glad to see that this year with both Mitchell and Arnold on the board, they didn't get cute and just drafted their preference.  Who knows what this front could look like with McNeill next to Carter rather than Davis.

This is how the Eagles Offense should be. Ravens have similar talent but way better coaching.

That makes no sense

They also have a way better QB

I got crapped on so much two years ago when I said Lamar was better than Jalen.

Just letting you all know

And not crapped on willingly like what @hputenis and @Godfather do to each other

The strange thing is that McNeill and Williams have really similar stats despite McNeill playing way more snaps. I get that raw numbers don't tell the whole story, but I hardly think Williams has been the disappointment you are making him out to be.

He's doing it to stay humble and feel that he's still connected to the "every man".

Lamar still hasn't been to a SB and has consistently choked in the postseason. Not saying he's not a "great" QB, but him having a great regular season is nothing new.  I mean the guy does have 2 MVPs

LOL. Getting the tickets via an auction thing, so they are 100 level apparently. The real surprise for dad is we are having lunch with Howie on Friday. Me, dad, my brother and my buddy from LA and his kid.

Tell Howie he needs to let the Blog script the first fifteen.  Can’t do worse than Sirianni/Moore/Patullo.  We reserve the right to consult with Stout and the players.

Anyone can cherry pick one draft pick with the advantage of 20/20 hindsight.

So how do you value landing one of the best safeties in the NHL as a UDFA?

Yeah, Jackson is playing at a completely different stratosphere than Hurts right now, even as a passer.  He’s capable of throwing with zip that Hurts cannot, and he’s completed passes to 7 different targets tonight — would be 8 if Ricard didn’t drop a perfect throw.

I’ll just skip over the obvious NHL joke.

Because if you are suggesting Blankenship is "one of the best safeties in the NFL” that is far more laughable.

At least you found one qb on Monday night playing better than Hurts.

This guy could be pretty good if he could ever get out of his own way

Oh boy the Ravens are going to downright embarrass us. We better be emotionally prepared for it.
