I would think if push came to shove (in a scenario where he clearly loses, the election is certified, and he actually refuses to leave) Caine and the other chiefs would ignore Hegseth and ultimately side with the Constitution to remove Trump from the White House, but the fact we're even talking about this as a plausible scenario is insane.

I don't know what to tell you to do if your kids are keeping something like this a secret. If they are going through something major and you have a healthy relationship with them, then you will know about it long before anybody in the school tells you.

Kids need safe, secure places to learn and grow. If the school is the only safe place they have to be themselves, that is a failure at home.

Kids, especially teens, can have very open caring and supportive relationships with their parents and still get self conscious about sharing certain things.

Every kid is different, and every relationship is different. It's far too simplistic to posit that a teen not feeling comfortable sharing certain things with their parents is some kind of failure in the home.

Could it be? Sure. There's also parent-child relationships that are very open and honest that run closer to friendships with the child rather than parenting of the child. Is that healthy? I don't think so. But YMMV.
