Agree. Lions will massacre the R Words and then it’ll be the Eagles toughest road game of the season. (They could still win though)

I can see Washington pulling off a huge upset in Detroit. If the Lions come out flat on offense, I think the Commanders will blow them out.  With that said, I expect Lions to win, but I won't be surprised if they lose.

He's not even being paid as a top 5 QB anymore, he's sitting at # 9 right now.  Both Love and Herbert are above him in terms of highest paid, and they both had career worsts this past weekend

Mahomes is constantly gushed over for being the best QB right now, and the Chiefs beat us in the SB with him managing the game.  Lastly, no QB really carries a team (well, maybe Josh does). We can argue that the QB is the most important player, but even Mahomes doesn't "carry" the Chiefs.

OK, so Love and Herbert are his comps. Is that supposed to make me feel better? Is that good value?

Mahomes threw for 5,200 yards and 41 Fing TDs on his way to beating us in the Super Bowl. So, yes, he most certainly carried the chiefs.

Let’s stop ever comparing Hurts to Mahomes. One is a game manager, the other is going to have a legitimate chance to challenge Brady for GOAT status.

Jalen Hurts is not the issue here. He gets to throw alot less with Saquan and it's pretty much stifling his rhythm as a passer. He's executing mostly on what is asked of him. He has stopped playing hero ball and making unnecessary turnovers. That is the key right now.

I do agree that they need to change the play calling to play more to his strengths. He was off a few weeks and was rusty as well. I believe he will step up as a passer if and when the time comes during these games. But right now this is clearly the MVP'S team, Saquon Barkley. Riding him till the wheels fall off. I want more balance here, but I'm not pointing things at Hurts. He gets a B right now with me for what is asked of him. We will not lose because of him.

Most of this is just not true... revisionist history.

Patrick Mahomes: 15-2 SB

Josh Allen: 14-3 SB

Joe Burrow: 13-4 SB loss

Lamar Jackson: 14-3  NFCCG loss

Russell Wilson: 10-7 wildcard loss

Sam Darnold: 6-11

Baker Mayfield:8-9

Justin Herbert:  12-5 wildcard loss

Jordan Love: 10-7 wildcard loss

Matt Stafford: 13-4 NFCCCG loss

Tanner McKee: 17-0 SB Champion

Prime Mcnabb: 14-3 SB loss

Here's a question to rile everyone up.  No rationalization, no debate.  Just answer the following...if the Eagles had X at QB, what is their 2024 record and what would be the end of the line for them in the playoffs?  For instance, for 2023 Hurts, the answer just "11-6, wild card loss."  No commentary.  List:

Patrick Mahomes:

Josh Allen:

Joe Burrow:

Lamar Jackson:

Russell Wilson:

Sam Darnold:

Baker Mayfield:

Justin Herbert:

Jordan Love:

Matt Stafford:

Tanner McKee:

Prime Mcnabb:

It's interesting to see the results so far. There are some QBs that throughout the season fans have said they'd rather have, yet their expectation is either worse results than Hurts or losing the 1st or 2nd playoff game. Only the few expected best QBs in the league were listed to go to the SB.

It 100% makes him a game manager but that’s not the worst thing in the world. He’s riding an elite offensive line, running back, and defense to wins. It’s the equivalent of someone in a group project putting in minimal effort to get a good grade. The fact that the best thing we can say about Hurts right now is that he isn’t turning the ball over is literally the definition of a game manager. The bar has been lowered that much that some consider it a good game if he has zero turnovers.

But the way this roster has been constructed allows for that to be passable. They’ll need more from him against the Rams, but not that much more if the defense continues to hold their ground. If they don’t, it’s curtains.

It's what every QB in the NFL is with the possible exceptions of Mahomes, Allen, and Lamar.  It's literally in the job description of the QB to manage the game.  QBs that go well above and beyond that are few and far between.  It's kind of why I laugh and just pass over most of the Hurts criticism.  It's not exactly easy to go get one of those super special guys.

And Washington could also pull off an upset in a close game as well.  So all in all the Commanders will win the game, unless they lose, in which case the Lions will be the better team.

The read option is dead.  Teams are consistently scraping their LB.  Also, the read option isn't really a North/South play.

They have a really nice North/South version where they run counter with a pulling OL leading Hurts through the B gap.

They often go to tempo once they pass their own 40.  Brady talked about that during the Steelers game.

The deep shots and ball distribution is really more up to Hurts than the play caller.  Hurts trusts certain guys and is turnover hesitant.

Someone ought to tell the top 2 rushing teams in the league.

I remember that 89 game pretty well. Greg Bell ran all over us it was super depressing.

December 31, 1989, I'm 99.9% positive I was home on leave from Fort Hood. So I'm pretty positive I watched it, but I likely turned it off and went to sulk in a dark room (ala Tom Coughlin after DeSean's Miracle at the new Meadowlands) when it became obvious what the outcome was going to be and over the years I've just let it fade from my mind completely.

Hurts is going to have to use his legs to maximum effect.   Moore needs to scheme up some plays to get him going that way and I believe that gets him into the game and helps his passing.

it better not be anything towards the sidelines, he gets nothing on those runs, he needs the giant hole int he middle to get actual yardage.

Was that the Colosseum?   Well, never mind then.

Yup. I was at the game with my brother. I just remember leaving and all the Rams fans were taunting us saying the season was over with Nick Foles. Little did they know…

This is one of those games where an obvious game plan is staring the coaches in the face and the only question is whether they use it.

Based on last game you have to get Barkley some early touches, right??

I don't care if they load the box, see if you can spring one early.

I don't like Shawn Smith being the head official

I don't like story line of playing Los Angeles when the city is burning down and the residents need something to root for -  Hollywood movie in the making

I don't like storyline of Stafford going against the Rams if both teams were to advance.

Those are some of the Scripts in play this upcoming weekend.

If he gets the nod and makes a big play that stadium is going to go insane

I’m less concerned with a mental aspect of knowing the defense with him. We are week 20. So he’s been here through mini camps, training camp and 20 weeks of the regular season. He knows this defense. If he is going to fail, it’s because he doesn’t have the experience and he’s probably physically not ready to be in the role that he is asked.

I forgot we were with out DeVonta the 1st meeting vs the Rams.  Pretty sure they were without one or two starters on their OL also

Lamar, Dak, Burrow, Lawrence, Tua, and Goff are above him as well.   You aren't high on Lamar for whatever reason, but he's got 2 MVPs and just won a playoff game by managing it. Dak puts up good stats in the regular season but chokes in the playoffs. Trevor sucks.  Burrow is great, but has been injured a bit.  Burrow also couldn't carry his team to the playoffs because the Bengals defense was bad.  I mean, he was in the same position Hurts was in last year with a horrid def, but at least Hurts made the playoffs. Tua can't win in the cold. Goff is solid.

Yeah, Mahomes did that in the regular season, but he was 21/27 for 182 YDs and 3 TDs in the SB.  he got outplayed by Hurts yet won as a game manager.  No one's comparing Hurts/Mahomes lol.  Lastly, Mahomes has had 2 "down" seasons in a row now, but I'd suspect Chief fans won't care about the lack of amazing stats if he wins another SB.

You're on ignore apparently .......

When seeing it in real-time, I had thought it was Blankenship that was covering deep on Q's pick at the end of the game. But just now got a chance to watch it again, and Blankenship was actually way out of position and slow to flip back over to cover the post.

It was Baun. He dropped and literally ran with the slot WR step for step the whole way. Unreal.

Tbh with how the officiating has been this year I 100% expected them to throw a flag and it would negate Mitchell‘s interception.

Fangio doesn't bs around, so I think there is a pretty good chance Trotter Jr. plays a good bit. Fangio must like what he sees in practice, otherwise he wouldn't have said that.

I don't think this offense looks the same with any of those QBs except maybe Allen.  Jackson comes next closest but he is like the anti-Hurts in terms of throws over the middle of the field.  Mahomes is going to be stellar in any offense, I think, but Kellen Moore and Sirianni are not Andy Reid.  Allen and Lamar have the running ability.  Allen does have the penchant for making some boneheaded decisions. I do think Allen and Mahomes would be a clear upgrade. I think Jackson is a likely upgrade but he's had some bad playoff games.  He lost a home divisional game against the Chiefs last season.  I don't think he has had the talent that Hurts has had but he's a question for me.

Burrow would be more efficient in the passing game but Barkley isn't going to have as easy a time running the ball.  I don't know if our HC/OC could adjust their offense.  Herbert is kind of a wild card.  I think he would maybe need a better TE/slot WR to succeed.
