Heading into our 2nd NFCCG in 3 years, thought I'd compare this team to that one from 2 years ago...

QB: I don't think anyone would disagree that 2022 Hurts was far better than 2024 Hurts. Blame injuries, or the OC, his mental regression, or the lunar phase but this one is clear and not debatable

  • Verdict: 2022 Team

RB: Bruh

  • Verdict: 2024 Team

WR: This one is interesting because we have AJ that's 2 years older with the wear and tear that brings, but also Smitth who should be a bit more savvy and developed as a route runner. Outside of them, I actually liked the blocking ability someone like Zach Pascal brought to our ground game then, even though Quez was a walking brain fart.

  • Verdict: Push

TE: Goedert is still Goedert and we don't use the others enough to draw meaningful differences, so I'll call it another push but I wouldn't argue if you gave the nod to 2022 for contributions in the ground game

  • Verdict: Push

OL: This basically boils down to whether Jurgens and Becton are better than Kelce and Seumalo were, and the answer to that is clearly no.

  • Verdict: 2022 Team

Interior DL: This one is probably the most interesting, Hargrave and an agining Cox vs Carter and Milton Williams rounding into form. Yea gotta give this to the young bucks, Jalen really is that good

  • Verdict: 2024 Team

Edge/OLB: Sweat is two years older, that quick first step might be a tad slower, but with Nolan finally showing some flashes of 1st rd potential, it's tricky to call. Reddick just had too much production which makes it tough to ignore so I think I gotta give the slight edge to him

  • Verdict: 2022 Team

LB: White and Edwards were a solid and perhaps underrated duo, but even with Dean going down, I still gotta give the nod here to Burks and Zach MF"ing Bizzaun because of how doiminant he's been this year. No brainer.

  • Verdict: 2024 Team

CB/NCB: Bradberry and Slay were real good that year, again perhaps underrated, but even with Slay being 2 years older, he's still playing at a high level, and the contributions of Q and DeJawn easily put them over the edge.

  • Verdict: 2024 Team

S: I really liked CJGJ and Epps, but Reed has been great and CJGJ has returned to form.

  • Verdict: 2024 Team

ST: Elliot has regressed in a big way it seems, but Mann is better than Siposs, our coverage seems a bit better, and returners aren't as much of a downgrade from Covey outside of the occasional double catch on punts.

  • Verdict: Push

Totals: 3 for 2022 and 5 for 2024

This team is better and can win it all but we just have to play smart.  Fangio for sure passes the test.  Let’s see if Moore does a little better this weekend.  The pieces are there.  Credit to Howie.

I think my biggest argument would be CB/NCB. Bradberry was an all pro that year. Slay was a pro-bowler with 3 picks. NCB Maddox was still good but injured a lot so that would go to 2024. Gut reaction would be push. I don’t think 2024 is necessarily easily better.

Yeah I probably should've compared the staff, but not sure if it would be anything other than a push, though you could argue the upgrade in Fangio over Gannon is bigger than the downgrade from Steichen to Moore.

People were pretty high on Trey Sermon and Davis-Price at the time. They both just didn’t make the easiest RB team roster for now obvious reasons.

Yeah that's probably fair, as I said I think the 2022 secondary was underrated so I can't argue too much. But I do think Q and Coop really are that good, and that Slay really hasn't regressed as much as a lot of people expected him to. I'd be okay with calling that a push.

Jurgens > Kelce.  Jurgens has been great.  Kelce stacked the late career all-pros but the guy was constantly getting penalties.  Jurgens has the same athleticism but is much stronger.

How would you parse depth, OC and DC?

Nvm I see you've mostly answered

Two things that I'd consider fatal flaws for Redskins this week that should give Eagles a comfortable victory this weekend.

1) Redskins ranked #30 vs the run. Some say, they think Redskins may stack the box. Then expect the Eagles to be ready to counter that, as they did early on in 1st Q of Rams game. They will have to pick their poison and eventually die at the hands of Saquon.

2) Redskins losing their best offensive lineman at Right Guard will hurt. They have a journeyman filling in. Carter & Williams are slobbering as we speak.

If Eagles keep the turnovers down to 1 or 0 it's game over for them. This game should play right into the Eagles hands. Offense should feast this week, even with a compromised Hurts.

I have both the CBs and Safeties as 2022.  Close calls both.

Dream scenario for me would be obviously a win, hopefully a comfortable one .

Secondly I'd love for any of the O-lineman or even Goedert to absolutely de-cleat Luvu and send him to another dimension.

after fees the cheapest ticket is actually well over $700. Which is right on par with what I paid for the eagles/9ers championship game. Doesnt seem to have changed much.

Ill tell you what I found impressive though. The jump in prices from last week. I looked today to see how much my exact seats from Sunday will cost.  I paid $364 after fees, and the ticket today was $2200. Upper levels, you could have had them last week for 215. Maybe like 260 after fees. Today, again, they are over 700, and many of them are being sold for well over $1,000.

He just needs attention.  Nothing to see.

Jurgens is not better than 2022 Kelce, but not a big drop off.

And I think Becton is better than Seumolo.

So, I would probably go Push on OL.

We just need to play our game. Run the ball down their throats, control the clock, play stout defense. Kenny Pickett led this team to 26 points against the commies in Washington. Saquon ran for 150. Big plays were the problem, too many 30+ yards plays including 3 of their TDs. Ideally having CJGJ back will help there.

I happened to hear ESP make that exact point on the radio just this afternoon.  Moron said that in 2022 he wasn't making checks at the line, so all the checks he's made this year, wouldn't have happened in 2022.   It seems ESP doesn't know the difference between an audible of a play and setting a protection, amongst other things.

Mailata is also much better than he was in 2022, as is Dickerson. Lane is an alien and looks as if he can play until he’s 40.  I’d almost go 2024 OL.
