Question.  Should Tanner be active this week even though he is the third QB?  Hurts may be hurt or limited in some way during the game.  Just curious what people think.

yes but doubt it..he should be QB2 though

Since it's just a walkthrough I doubt it's much concern. It's just Goedert seems to constantly have some type of injury

And water is still wet.

Whatever is nagging them, they finished the game with it, so hopefully it's nothing too alarming.

I don't understand the jets and constantly hiring defensive minds when their offense has been dreadful for like 20 years and they keep drafting 1st round QBs.

If they can bring in a solid OC and QB coach at least that's a step in the right direction.  They need to figure out why their defense took such a huge step backward.

What they really need is to hit on a QB draft pick outside the first round.  There's nothing in the QB free agent market (never is); they also have a dismal record drafting QB at the top of the draft.  Their scouting department needs to identify some QB talent further down the board.

Job #1 is to send Aaron Rodgers packing.

Some bad pass protection, some questionable play calls and Jalen taking sacks instead of checkdowns.

Each team has played 19 games already. Of course they're banged up.

Different players decline in different ways.

Goedert is still really good when on the field.  His decline is in his body’s ability to keep up with this grind without breaking down.  Not sure what they are going to get out of him next year at this rate.

If not then just pump them full of painkillers for 2 more games

Was waiting to hear his thoughts on some of these plays, thanks.

Nolan Smith was a guy I liked a lot on draft night... his quiet 2023 made me hesitant, and made me question him during the bye week this year... but the second half of his 2024 has made him, IMO, into a guy who will likely be a Pro Bowler in a year if he maintains what he's done over the last 10 weeks through the full season next year.   He has erased any doubt that anyone can offer.

Gotta admit i was really down on him earlier this year. He's definitely turned it around and made me a believer. He also seems like a really great guy with a tenacious work ethic and positive attitude. Definitely the kind of person you want on your team.

Seriously… the dude is an absolute gamer when he plays..and I love the player.  However, it does seem like he’s hurt 1/3 of the games every year.  I don’t see how that actually improves as he gets older.

TE1 prospect is a priority in the draft imo.

Didn’t even notice that one at first … Hopefully that’s really back/rest, and not just ‘back’

Thankfully it’s a pretty decent TE class. We should be able to get a solid prospect in the 3rd-5th. Also, Calcaterra’s emergence as a solid receiving option takes some of the pressure off.

I never worried about Nolan because he has special athleticism and great character.

This is the key to drafting in my opinion. There are 3 basic categories of attributes: physical talent, football skills, and miscellaneous, which I would say includes things like work ethic, character, and injury considerations.

If they have physical talent and good miscellaneous attributes, you can teach the "skills” aspect to most prospects. It might take a year or two, but generally speaking a big, strong, athletic kid who works his arse off isn’t going to end up being a bust.

However, someone with bad physical talent is generally going to be overwhelmed by superior athletes, and someone with no work ethic, or criminal entanglements, or serious injuries has a higher likelihood of not making it no matter how skilled and talented they are.

Adam Gase freaked them out way too much to ever try that again

Does the day end in Y?

Just heard something on NBC Sports Philadelphia (Mission 59) that I hadn't thought about before, but Sundays NFCCG will be the first time in NFL History that a team has hosted three playoff games in the same season.

Wildcard, Divisional and now NFCCG.

Nothing, but not sure what purpose it would serve.

Confusion?  Force Washington to prep for everyone?

Look, I never said there was a purpose, ok?
