They have done one thing since the 90s. Wow. They are probably bandwagon fans at that.

I have a lot of friends who grew up as die hard Commanders fans who checked out because of Dan Snyder and I get that. (Honestly, how I'm starting to feel about the Sixers). And then there's another bunch who are jumping on the bandwagon. Either way, if the Eagles don't win, I'm going to hear a lot of trash talk.

Cam questionable. Everyone else good. Other than Young, but who cares. Covey out and not coming off IR.

Ugh.  So who other than DeJean can return punts?    Have they ever tried Sidney Brown back there?

The Juergens injury situation is coming at a bad time. Idk, even if he goes, how effective will he be? This might be a real problem on Sunday.

Honestly.... from a cap perspective why not keep him one more year and let him go out in green?

Help me with the option bonuses @vikas83 @LeanMeanGM.  I'm a bit underwater work wise and cant put more effort into th

Actually if you give him a post June 1st designation you save almost 4.5mm in cap next year.

Going up against Jonathan Allen will also be a handful

Exactly. That’s why it is an issue with his injury. How will he hold up strength-wise with a bad back?! Might actually have to switch in game if Juegens can’t hold his own.

Not sure why Slay would think this is his last game here. He's signed through next year. Had a great year...

Incorrect.  My entire argument is context. Hurts defenders have no choice but to ignore it.

Incorrect.  Your entire argument is an absolute.  You brook no dissent.

He already dropped his playing weight

He knows he's not going to get $18M to play here next year and his agent probably already had preliminary talks with Howie.

How is Covey still hurt??? Not that he adds much value to the Team, but c'mon man, you can't play again?

The issue is paying him $16mm for 2025 -- there's no way he gets that on the open mkt. His contract is screwy with the restructuring, but if you keep him for 2025 and let him play it out, the dead cap hit in 2026 will be ~25mm, up from 22.75mm if we cut him this offseason. The trick is we can post June 1 him this offseason and break up that 22.75mm between 2025 (9.5) and 2026 (13.3). If he plays it out, you add ~2.2mm in dead money (16mm cash - 13.8mm cap), but it all hits in 2026 unless you rework again to cut him after June 1, 2026.

The bigger issue is paying him $16mm at his age -- he's never getting that. Cutting it to 9-10mm could work for both sides. Instead of adding ~3mm for the option bonus, you add 1.5mm so his 2025 cap number drops to ~12.2mm. But his dead money is way less because you reduce it by ~3mm (paid 9mm, charged 12.2mm), and then you can post June 1 him in 2026 by adding a BS year.

If they can make it work, it would be  great to keep him and have him retire an Eagle.

Not to mention the fact that it gives the team an additional year to see what they have in Rodgers,  Ringo, and Ricks.  .  If one of the younger guys steps up during Slay's "passing of the torch season" it could end up saving us a high draft pick trying to find his replacement.  Could end up paying dividends.

I don't think a neck injury is something you really want to mess with

This shouldn't be hard.

If Hurts can move, start him.
If he can't run, start McKee.

The best you get is a hobbled Hurts and if he gets too banged up, Kenny Two Gloves!

My bigger concern about Cam's injury involves the moving of Dickerson to center. That effects two positions which I have heard over and over agin that Stoutland tries to avoid.

Daniels almost lost to Tampa on the road two weeks ago if not for a lucky ass bounce off the post. He is not Mahomes and that isn't Andy calling in the plays on offense with Spags on defense. How many damn times this year were we told ohhhhhh the Eagles can't go into Baltimore and beat the #1 offense and RB in the league or ohhh they can't beat GB or the hot Rams. If nothing else they are playing in freaking Philadelphia with the number one defense in the league coming at him. It's BS.

They almost lost to Atlanta too.

But it was still impressive going into Detroit and handling them.  I know the Lions had a ton of defensive injuries but still.

That win could either propel them and boost their confidence more and they're playing their best football right now or maybe Detroit was somewhat overrated and they're feeling themselves.

I don't think a blowout is happening so the Eagles better be prepared.

I'm hoping it's a run heavy game with Barkley and Gainwell.  Sprinkle in some Hurts runs and throws and I like their chances.

This is a game for lots of outside zone. Run away from Allen. They play small EDGEs.

There probably won’t be that many punts on Sunday. The Commanders are going to go all out and might go for multiple 4th downs. Quinn has been very aggressive and will most likely be even more so in this game. Our D is gonna need there absolut A game.

If they do punt, don’t take risks. If need be, just fair catch it.

Certainly hope the defense does a better job this time around than they did in the last game against them, sure Pickett was playing but they still let the Commanders score 36 in that one.
