Maybe. I’m not convinced the Bears could run a play to get into FG range, get set up and make a kick in 30 seconds the way that team plays.

Maybe. Most teams should know the situation after calling the timeout. At most you have 12-15 seconds run off the clock. I’d be less surprised that they wouldn’t realize it’s fourth down and spike it in that situation. Then again a good coach would say during the timeout whatever happens on this play special teams be ready to run out immediate and get set to kick the field goal

Looky Looky balls actually on hooky

QB was just as dumb

In a sane world, the HC is watching the clock and calling TO inside 10 seconds so the QB can concentrate on making sure everyone is lined up correctly and set before the snap.

I would've called a timeout immediately too. Odds are you aren't picking up a 3rd and 14. So you call a timeout, plan for a quick play that gets you a little closer and run the FG team out there. Or try for a play to the sidelines and just attempt the long kick.

I think the Eagles matchup well with the Lions. Better than some other teams.

Was 3rd and 26 at that point. But yeah that’s what I’d have done.

I wouldn't judge a bears fan if they change teams

William deserves blame as well. 1. not immediately calling the timeout to preserve as much time. 2.  taking some bad sacks in that game their offensive line isn’t very good but he had protection at times and just needs to realize to throw the Fing ball away.

that said this is about the fourth time the Bears have blown a game in a late situation because they are the Bears. At some point in time your coach needs to be better in late game situations. I would also add when you go look at the Bears the last 6 weeks their games where they just look dumbfounded to start the game. And then the second half they look much better. Particularly the last three weeks. But this is really been a six week issue. Were they just come out and look completely lost for a half. And sometimes it’s for the full game like in New England

Shaq Barrett is done for the year. Not coming back to anyone now.

Did he get hurt?

Miami trying to stick it to Fangio. He was set to sign with the Eagles.

Any player on the retired/reserve list has to be back on an active roster by the time their team plays a Week 13 game. Miami declined to bring him back or cut him. They had until 4PM today because they play their Week 13 game tonight. So he’s forced to stay retired.

Similarly, for anyone that wanted Cox back he would have to apply for reinstatement and be brought back by Saturday at 4PM.

The coach. It’s not close.

You don’t defer to your 20 year old rookie QB on what to do. You’re the boss. You’re the adult in the room.

Detroit is a damn good team.  But they aren't unbeatable like some of you think.

Yeah, hard to blame them, but bad business as was said.

The best part is that tree is in our foyer, right behind my wife’s office. That sack is in clear view during Teams calls.

What’s crazy is he allegedly said he would play for the Dolphins but they just said no. It’s not like they have good pass rushers either and are fighting for a playoff spot.

No.

You absolutely do not call timeout. You need the TO to get the FG team on the field in case you get tackled in bounds.

Calling TO there is another disastrously stupid idea in the making.

What you do is try to get lined up and run a play with 10+ seconds on the clock. Once it hits 9 you call time out.

You can't do the shove with Drew Lock and this sorry arse O-line, sorry (not sorry) Giants

Giants just tried a tush push and couldn't move an inch

They had 32 seconds if they called the timeout. How long do you think a play is going to take? On average 6-8 seconds per the play. So run your FG unit on at 24-22 seconds. If it’s a max 15 second then you have 17 seconds to get your kicker and unit on the field. If you have your crap together during the timeout, you have it known to your special team to run onto the field as soon as you’re tackled in bounds

go show me where a play has lasted 20+ seconds or longer so you don’t have enough time to run your kicker on there. Even if the play took 20 seconds, that gives you 12 seconds to run your unit out there get set to kick a field goal. It really only takes about 8-9 seconds to get that all set up to do and kick the field goal. We’ve seen teams do it with less than 32 second and no timeouts. when the average nfl play takes 5-8 seconds is plenty of time to not need a timeout after a completion in bounds with 32 seconds when the play doesn’t start til it snapped. If you get sacked you are likely out of FG range for your kicker and needing a Hail Mary anyway so likely screwed anyway

running a play with 10 seconds can be just as reckless even with a timeout. If you’re gonna tell me 32 seconds with one play getting stopped in middle isn’t enough time to run your unit out there, have you seen Williams in this game hold onto the ball because 10 seconds might not be enough if being stopped in the middle of the field with a clock stopped at 32 til the snap is made

Giants game is gonna be a tricky one
