Irregardless you going to say the delay game of calls are equal go back and count them they called immediately on Jalen and gave Bryce 2-4 seconds

I don't care.   The HC, in that situation, cannot allow it to get that close.   He's got to be ready at exactly 1 second on the play clock to call a timeout.   You cannot allow that call to be made, so you don't give the officials a chance.  In fact, I tell the sideline official to be listening closely because if it gets close, I am going to call a timeout.    The timeouts do the Eagles no good in their pocket, but the 5 yards can kill a drive, and that's exactly what happened.

Coaches can't control the officiating, so they have to control what they can.   And that includes not giving the officials the grey area to operate in.   Take it out of their hands.  Good coaches know this.   Bad coaches allow themselves to be preoccupied with something else in that moment.   He's not calling plays, so he needs to be controlling the game management.  He failed today.  And it nearly cost the team the game.   Blaming the refs is the loser mentality.  Control what you can control and don't let it come down to that.   Calcaterra was being tackled without the face mask anyway... and they were fortunate that the refs said he was tackled in bounds.  The seconds they left on the clock were so important.  Bad coaching today... and not just that moment.  Same in the situation 3rd and 4 where they threw the ball rather than run the ball twice to keep the drive going.

The team tried to mail in a win, and they did.

Hurts also had 3 tds

And less than 85 net passing yards....

How hilarious would it be if Giants win this game & lose out on 1st pick

We’ve been doing it for a while.

No, not really… He’s been a big part of the running game’s success, and the turnover differential.

This game, however, would’ve been completely on him if they had lost. He made some dumb critical mistakes on that final drive.

I had PTSD from last year… This was the first game during this win streak where I did not feel comfortable until the final whistle.

I’m willing to blame it on the trap game theory…it’s hard to keep winning streaks going at the end of the day. But next week better be much different.  This game should serve as a wake up call.

Besides Jalen, I felt the defense was really lacking. DeJean got humbled a bit.  Hopefully that helps him going forward.

That timeout decision is one of the most obvious a HC can make too. Other HCs do it every week!

This game reminded me a lot of last year. We won the game, but we were also very lucky in doing so. Carolina should have had the TD with the throw to Legette, so we dodged a bullet.

Yeah! Those dummies thought Legette would catch game-winning TDs. Fools.

It would have been excruciating watching the Eagles drive down for the game winning FG only for Jake to kick the ball into the nether realm

You deserve a marlin over your fireplace for that one.

It wasn't a bad game, but he definitely missed some open guys. He still had 2 passing TDs, some big runs, and a TP td. I think he played a little too cautious, but we won, so I'll take it.

Flush it.

Way too stressful and frustrating, but I’m not going to freak out. I’ve paid particular attention to CAR lately. There never should have been a 13 point spread going in to this game.

What were the positives? Saquon and I think that may be it. Even DeJean was pretty bad today.

I actually disagree.  What weren’t the positives?

OL did what they do.  Barkley was great.  Defense gave up 16 against an offense that has been playing well and that made every drive 4 downs.

Tackling fell off and Dejean definitely struggled with Thielen….but really nothing crazy bad on either front.

The team did their thing today.  It’s just that Hurts was awful.  Nothing more to it.

And I think we have to come to grips with a kicker problem as well.

Hurts missed receivers and cost us field position several times with idiotic behavior. Is the bar really that low that "no turnovers" is good enough?

Carolina also dodged a bullet with the miss on the blatant face mask. If we get that flag, the game is over

Here's the thing:

If this board weren't Eagles fans, the overwhelming majority, even the pro Hurts posters, would say that he sucks.

Take off the midnight green glasses

Why do you care what others think? It gets old real fast....

This board is running like molasses today

Delusional fans will look at the box score and think Hurts had a great game

He can cover but he's a liability if he has to make a tackle.

Made a big stop in the running game on the drive before that last one that lead to the first 4th down stop.   He picks his spots.

Said it earlier that they looked like there was no energy today.

I don’t know what that was all about but it was bad. Really really bad.

You can sort of say Carolina dodged a bullet too. Draft position wise.

He must have bet the ML.  Panthers covered, were 14 pt underdogs.

Think about it this way...

We're supposedly one of the best teams in the NFL and as a fanbase we're begging for the coaching staff to take ball out of the hands of one of the highest paid QB's in the league.

Yeah I don’t know how anybody feels good coming out of this game. The only thing I feel good about in this game is that Saquon Barkley is really good. Our pass offense has gotten worse each week (hurts gone 179 to 118 to 108). Aj brown goes missing far too often from the offense. He went nearly an entire 4 quarters of football from his last reception against ravens to his 1st reception in this game. Our defense was bailed out by Carolina not catching footballs on that last drive and seemingly was bad against the run and stopping their only receiving threat in thielen. Plus our late game play calling and decision making was awful.

we pulled it off, but I would argue that was excruciatingly painful like the end of last year when the defense consistently had issues getting off the field on 3rd and 4th down, and the offense was schizophrenic for most of the game.
