Eagles just won a game they would have lost last year. Hard to get up for them all and while there is a lot to not like they got the win. It will hopefully motivate them for a big one next week.

Almost all of their wins looked like that last year

The defense only gave up 16 points to a team that's been playing well. They weren't the issue today.

Next week they need to respond. Today was absolutely a concern but we just have to believe today was a blip. To be fair to this team that has been the blip since the Browns game.

the defense may have been a blip but hurts missing open receivers is not

When you win 9 games in a row, you are going to have ugly wins in there.

After the beauties that were the LAR and BAL wins, we were due.

It's December Football and win streaks are hard to maintain.  Those Pesky Panthers came to play.  Bryce does have bright future if they let him grow.   Good game Panthers.   9 Straight Wins ties the most in Franchise History.  Saquon passes Shady's record.   We now have a big fat target on our backs.  Don't be shocked they came in here and played good.  The Panthers have been playing well for 5 straight games.

I thought Hurts was poor today - one his worst games of the year but we can argue about it all week because his box score QB rating looks really good at over 110 so there will be some who will hange onto that (even we had less than 100 net passing yards with 4 sacks and some real bonhead plays at the end of the game)

Right on cue

Another win for Hurts. Another 3 TD, 0 turnover game for Hurts.  Another 110+ QB Rating game for Hurts.

Can’t change Hurts, he is who he is. But Moore can run better plays. I’m tired of the route combinations this team uses. Yes, Hurts misses open guys but for the talent they have, there should be open WRs way more than there are. And this is with teams gearing up to stop the run to boot. If I see another 4 10 yard curls on 3rd down

A lot of what we see is Hurts making decisions before and after the snap, and not directly on Moore.

Psssh Hurts got owners 27 fantasy points today compared the Young’s 13…we all know Hurts was elite today and outplayed Young by a wide margin.  All you haters should be ashamed.

Barkley still on track for the record? He might be a little behind now

Yeah! Those dummies thought Legette would catch game-winning TDs. Fools.

There was still almost a min left at that point and we had all 3 of our timeouts, I think. Not a forgone conclusion that we still would've lost even if he came down with it for a TD there. Plenty of time to get in range and kick a FG for a chance to win it.

Slippery slope…not sure if i agree or disagree TBH.

It's a lot more objective that pass interference.

He looked Elite!

Well, the Eagles have a date with destiny.

They have a bad passing offense, the most dominant running game in the nfl, and a defense that might actually be elite.  The pass attack is asked to just keep it clean and ride the coat tails of Barkley.

Historically, such teams wash out early and badly in the playoffs.

We can talk about the long term implications of that (I’d argue they aren’t good)…But this is the horse we rode in on for 2024 and this team CAN beat anyone on the right day.  They also can lose to anyone if they are backed into a situation where their pass attack has to define the game.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

If we had a bad tackling game, instead of one of the worst tackling performances you'll see this decade, we win by 14+.

Our offense had 8 real drives. Technically it's 9, but that includes a one play kneel down.

& you can’t be too mad about DeJean struggling with Thielen. He’s still a rookie, bound to have a rough game especially against a skilled veteran like Thielen.

I think because we struggling so much to stop the run, we saw a bit more run blitz/1H safety which forced Coop to play a bit more man.

A few observations...

 - Hurts' decision making is really scary at times.  Too many to list here.  Still not confident we win a game in the 30s.

 - A lot of random went Carolina's way.  Our defense is designed to make the opponent move slowly down the field.  Carolina seemed to make every play they needed out of structure.

 - We are missing an edge rusher like we had with Reddick that can take over in the fourth quarter.

I’ll add another one, it might be time to panic about Jake Elliot.

0/5 on 50+ yard kicks on the year is nerve wracking if we get into a tight game situation in postseason. A missed FG will be brutal against a team like Detroit. I didn’t have an issue with Sirianni’s decision to punt late in the 4th to give Panthers a long field, but I think that’s also a reflection in lack of confidence in Jake currently. It used to be in the past you let Jake kick & make that, we’re up 9 points & not sweating the end of the game as badly.

Hurts is a one-read QB who takes a lot of dumb sacks and has an okay arm at best. And his rushing ability is wildly overrated. His 30~ yard go balls on the outside are money and that's how we dominated in 2022. Without that, his passing is ... rough.

Hurts has flaws, but he’s not a one read QB. If he were, Calcaterra would not have scored his touchdown today.  He obviously pivoted fromAJ‘s read to the middle of the field for that touchdown pass.

Yep. Elliott would have made the kick I’m sure.

Hurts gets a D+. Didn't turn the ball over, but took a real bad sack and was way too apprehensive overall

Agree there for sure…idk that the people in charge are capable of doing a rule implementation correctly.  The new KO rule is beyond dumb…nobody still understands the hip drop rule (which is why I’m fairly certain it hasn’t been called once this season).  Refs are calling games worse than the replacement ref year.

Today's game looked like the game I expected against the Steelers.

Well let’s hope that’s not the case because the Steelers really would smack us about if that’s the case!

Gotta love the double standard when it's the Eagles being talked about by the fans of other teams.  Lions barely squeak by a bad Bears team and they are the best in the NFL according to everyone, Eagles do the same against the Panthers and everyone already calling them 1 and done frauds

I guess the win today was a bit like that Oakland win in 2017? Ugly and tense but got the job done.

Their tackling was. Also the run defense was poor, and there were too many WRs wide open for big plays. They got extremely lucky that the game winning TD was dropped.

Hurts was extremely gun shy, but aside from that he had an ok game.

Exactly, plus as your win streak grows, it gets harder and harder to maintain it.  Even the Lions have pulled out several close games the last few weeks.  I will say that it seem we play tighter at home then on the road this season.  We have two playoff teams next and a Dallas team that hates us so it's not getting any easier from here.   The pressure is on.   But good start to December.   We are approaching over 2 1/2 Months since the Eagles have last lost a game.
