Don’t kid yourself though - having guys like AJ, Smitty and Goedert keeps defenses honest and helps open up the run game

Of course it helps…but the marginal benefit isn’t there.  If we are going to be a bad passing team either way, then we can’t make concessions losing a top DT or run blocking RG.  Pull the money out of the WR position.

Personnel priority this offseason:

1) EDGE

2) blue chip backup RB

3) rookie QB to develop

Need those 3 things along with keeping Baun, Becton and hopefully Williams.

SF with a nice TD drive. We do not want this. Nobody wants this. Nobody wants the Niners going on a bit of a run and making the playoffs.

If I’m Lurie I’d consider having a conversation with the league office regarding officiating. Between the missed face mask call, Carter getting held every other snap, and the imbalance of calls in the Baltimore game last week, something is terribly wrong with how their games are being called.

I think Hurts is overly scrutinized. He didn't play great, but he wasn't terrible either. He had an ok game, but was awful when it came to pulling the trigger in the pass game. That's not terrible, lol

Hurts could have played better. Some of his choices today were upsetting. It feels to me --- and I really hate this --- that we are trying to force feed touches to playmakers in situations where it is unnecessary just because their season stats are on the low side.

Hurts also made some plays today --- some that sustained drives where his earlier choice seemingly hurt us.

Statistically, that's not the game I want to see. We'd all love to see some beautiful 300 yard passing game, but today our opponent didn't want to see that and they made some good plays on defense that led to what we saw.

In the end, I'm once again happy for the win and will enjoy reading posts from the collective chicken-littles that reside here that still believe "last year"
has something to do with this year.

It is not out of the realm of possibility that McKee could be something.

This was a classic "Trap Game" sadly but I knew not to take the Panthers lightly.  They have been a new team since Bryce got a chance to come back and grow.

What constitutes terribe at the QB position for you?

Bad decision making? Poor vision? Poor pocket presence? Taking unnecessary sacks? Missing wide open receivers? Wildly inaccurate?

Because he was doing that all game.

What sack was unnecessary today? The slide sack was a designed run play for him or Barkley. He made plays in the red zone, and picked up big first downs with his legs and arm. But ok, focus on the few plays where he should've thrown it instead of all the plays he actually did make today 🤣

49ers are really injured & need a ton to go their way to make it in. I wouldn’t be too concerned

Any 300 yard game would be nice! In fact a 250 yard game or even a couple of 200 yard games would be nice. It just isn’t happening with Hurts at the moment. Even the nice deep balls have stopped.

I saw a team on 3rd and 1 not pile the entire offense within two yards of the ball, and convert the play for 8 yards, setting up a 1st and goal at the 4, instead of 1st and 10 at the 11.   Big difference.   Shame the Eagles can't learn something from that.

Meh, they're so beat up, they're going to be irrelevant anyway.

It’s just the QB.

Get rid of Hurts’ contract and everything else makes sense. You want 2 really good WRs paired with a smart, accurate QB who can throw a timing route and convert 3rd and 7 once per possession.

If you’re going to play possession football you need sure handed receivers who can actually help you to retain possession.

I know they are friends and all but I wonder deep down what AJ and DeVonta really think of Hurts as a passer.

So many times you've seen them look very disappointed after not getting the ball on time or where it should be.

But as long as Hurts doesn't turn it over we have a chance to win any game even if he only throws for 100 yards.

You would prefer the eagles shy away from the tush push and gamble more on third and short? What?

This team is what it is at this point. I don’t expect them to just flip the switch in the first quarter and get off to hot starts. And I think everyone can agree that Hurts is basically 2022 Brock Purdy with mobility. There’s enough of a sample this season to see the comparisons.

But on the positive side they have the best RB in the game, an elite offensive line, and the best defense they’ve had since the 2000s. This team can still go deep but the blueprint for their style has to be there. They have to survive the first quarter because if someone jumps on them fast, that puts the game in Hurts’s hands which isn’t good.

Frankly, I'm not sure he's even playing that well.   He sure didn't today.

They could still win that division…

Throw the ball away and take the ineligible downfield penalty for 5 yards. 1st and 15 is better than 2nd and 19.

Even if he is, I want multiple options. Hurts is fine as a bridge, but I want his contract off the books ASAP.

With the weapons they have on offense I’m not sure I’d call them irrelevant. Plus I hate them so just want to see them lose lose lose.

Quick update on the Division...

- We win any two games, we win the division.

- We only beat the Commanders, we win the division.

Heading towards a week 18 game we we are the #2 seed and the starters rest.

I think Williams is kept knowing they aren’t picking up Davis’ 5th year option.

It’s a win on to the Steelers.

Could be worse lol
