They did try it and it failed woth him earlier this season during a blowout.   Plus I'm sure the rib injury plays into it which further makes it irritating they didn't just go with McKee.

The difference he makes in the run game is that defenses have to at least respect the pass.  They aren't with Pickett.  The boxes are more stacked, not because Hurts' running ability is missing.  It's because they don't respect Pickett to make them pay for overcommitting to stopping Barkley.

They should be looking at what the defense is doing.  

For the run game, you gonna have to put a FB back there. Pickett gonna have to run a couple times too.

I would have been fine with it, it was at the 46. The punt was only a net of 34 anyway so it wasn’t even great flipping the field.

If Hurts was playing Nick would go for it every time.
