If you continue playing him today he only needs about 1 quarter next week. I think you play him now and get him more rest later. It means you can get the rest of the starters out of the game earlier next week as well.

Why I'm shocked he didn't stay in to get a few more. I'm glad he's out...but if they were going for it 30-40 more this week would make it a lot easier

Hes closet than that. Its closer to just 100 yards on the dot.

Id play all starters 1 more drive this week. Because she sooner he hits the record next week, the sooner you get ALL the starters out of that game. 

Smith dropping that same pass last week likely cost Barkley the rushing record. No reason to play him with the 2 seed locked up.
