That's why I don't worry about the number of games. The league was once 12 games a season. Anyone who holds a record based on accumulation has done so in more games than someone who once held it in fewer games. They don't all have asterisks.

This game feels much different if lafleur kicks a field goal on 4th down and the packers don’t line up offside on the miss FG. Could be 17-13. Instead 20-10

They aren’t. If they have the same record as the commanders then commanders are the 6 seed and they are the 7th. Commanders can still miss the playoffs if falcons beat them tonight and Dallas wins next week along with Tampa winning in week 18. Don’t think it’s likely.

Not true. Week 18 if both win is a winner takes the division and 1 seed. Both would be 14-2 heading into that game
