If we were just doing TEs from the last 30 years, I’d probably go this way

1. Tony gonzalez

2. Gates

3. Kelce

4. Gronk (if he stayed healthier I’d have him higher. he had 92 tds in 143 games is ridiculous to me. He has more tds than Kelce, Witten and sharpe in significantly less games. He has only 621 receptions but 9200+ yards everyone else has over 815 receptions to get to 10k)

5. Shannon sharpe

6. Witten

Shannon Sharpe just because he was a three time SB champion and was such an integral go to part of the offense, yeh , I can get behind that. I wish he didn't do TV though. Loved him as a player, hate him in the studio. His brother was always my favorite player of the two, he just seemed more humble and down to earth.

Breakfast tacos/burritos hands down here in Texas...there are some good bakeries, but for breakfast it's got to be filling. Donuts and sweet baked goods are really dessert to me.

A fresh flour tortilla, fresh scrambled eggs, chorizo (mexican sausage), cheese, homemade red and green sauce, you can get them with potato as well.

Meh, East Texas where every town has a Dollar General or Family Dollar, a doughnut shop and a gas station with Hunt Brothers pizza. (I live in the land of fastnachts now and even those German based pastries aren’t as bad as an East Texas doughnut.)   Now get a little south of you where there are kolaches if you want baked goods, that’s the way to go but I agree, savory then you are talking breakfast burritos.

I love the kolaches from the Czech Stop...I will stop there to get jalepeno cheese bread and beer bread as well any time we are down towards Waco/Austin which is usually two to three times a year. I haven't tried Slovacek's yet, it's on the other side of I-35 and just opened a few years ago, Czech Stop has been around as long as I can remember.

Yeh, I'm not sold that Wit is a top 5 all time, but I need a better argument than longevity. The best ability is availability so longevity can't be held against you imo, and if you are going to use that as a ding on him you also need to use it as a ding on Gonzalez...they both had 17 year careers...their careers are very similar. Gonzalez apparently from the stats had more big play/scoring talent.

The way I see Witten is a complete, but unspectacular TE. No weaknesses. But if we are going top 5, there are 5 guys who, in their prime, I’d take over him without hesitation.

I’ll put the argument like this: you could happily build an entire team’s passing attack around Gonzalez, Gates, Gronk, Kelce, etc. and compete for a Super Bowl.

I don’t think I’d do that with Witten, despite him being a high volume receiver.

At this point I'm almost more bummed than anything that this is the last game until preseason in August.

I'm beyond confident that I believe the Eagles win by 8+ barring some late garbage time points.  It just is now hitting though that it sucks that this is coming to an end one way or the other.  The greatest team in Eagles history will play their final game in in 43 hours.

Gronk is the best TE I’ve ever seen, and by a significant margin. He was an absolute freak. Elite blocking, down field receiving, red zone monster, run after catch…

I don’t care about longevity or injuries, I’ve seen enough. He was the best to ever do it.

It was Nate Davis, Aaron Schatz and Dan Pompei.  I don't think any of them are connected to the Giants.  All of them are, however, haters.  It was interesting to me that Barkley got mostly 3rd place votes and only one 2nd place one.

Check out Reuben Frank’s vote and John mcMullen’s vote.

At the beginning of the season I felt they should have played better. Now I feel like this may be not only the best Eagle team ever but one of the best NFL teams ever.

Not sure as a transplant in the mid state that I could know what the proper bread is for a true cheesesteak.  Interesting about the steaming of the bread.  Not sure I have had that done properly.

But I can relate to the bread issue. We lived in NOLA for my early years and my folks were introduced to po’ boys. (I am sure @vikas83 is munching down a Po’ Boy at Mother’s as I type this.)  The NOLA style French bread must be fresh that day, no preservatives.  Crunchy on the outside and somewhat airy on the inside.  We move to Houston and get a Po’ boy.  My mom shakes her head and says that is not a po’ boy (folks from that area understand my capitalization differences).  Thereafter, whenever I went to NOLA or Mandeville to see my cousins, I would return the Houston whether flying or driving with a few loaves of fresh French bread.  Mom would have po boys for us that evening.

Me, if it’s good, it’s good.  If you are ever in Galveston, Shrimp n Stuff for their fried shrimp Po-boy. (The hyphen makes me chuckle.). Mom never liked their bread but damn, I love their shrimp.

Sidenote if any of you fellow heathens make it to Mother’s, note on the menu you can get fixins (damn spellcheck doesn’t recognize fixins) for red beans - ham hunks and ham bone, both necessary for NOLA red beans and rice, IMHO.

Been to Nola a few times. Mother's is so good. Best jambalaya too.

I haven't lived in Philly area for 20 years. Amorosa used to be the best. But I've seen people discuss another bakery that is the new go to best.

We love the deep fried okra at the Czech Stop.  We were raised on Kennett Square deep fried breaded mushrooms and knew nothing in Texas was going to fill that void, but the okra at the Czech Stop was a damn close second.

Have you searched for better places in the area? There are lots of places around the country where someone from Philly opens a place that's closer to the real thing.

I haven't specifically searched, but in my most frequently travelled areas, there's not a lot of choices. But that's ok, I don't often get subs anyway.

On the topic of food since we did this last week, I actually had a conversation with my dad today about breakfast pastries/baked goods. I said if you’re gonna get a breakfast baked food/pastry what are you going for as your go to option. options were a doughnut, croissant, Danish, scone or a muffin. He prefers a scone. I was like every time I want like a breakfast pastry I’m always craving a really good muffin. I feel like muffin is probably the route I’d go. IMO nothing like a really good blueberry muffin with a crumble top

Go to Trader Joe’s and get an O&H Bakery danish kringle.  Almond and raspberry are the two best ones, but the pecan ones they have now are really good as well.

There is a website called gold belly that works with regional restaurants and delivers  specialty food overnight. I ordered 4 authentic Philly steaks from Jims ( I know...maybe not the best but the choice of  Philly cheesesteak shops are limited) The steaks were prepared and in my hands via packaging with dry ice all within 15 hours to California.

I actually think I found that site sometime last year when I was looking for someone to deliver some Schlotzsky's to me. We used to have several of those places here, but the owner (of them all), decided that it would be a good idea not to pay their taxes, so the IRS (or it may have been the state level) went in and confiscated all of their equipment, tables, everything and shut them down... and I was sad! I absolutely love their Turkey Original! I've even gone so far as to make my own bread in their style and get all the ingredients and make my own. Good, but not quite the same.

Anyone else uncomfortably calm about this game?

I kinda feel what you're saying. I just have this weird sense that we're going to win...and somewhat comfortably. One of those second half pull-aways like we had against the Bengals and Rams.

Goldbelly is great!  Expensive but the high quality matches the high price.  We just got torrone from Isgro’s from them as a house present from East Coast friends who arrive for a visit Wednesday.

Caroline's Cakes has an incredible caramel 10 layer cake that is absolutely decadent.  So rich it is too rich.  Fabulous

I went to Subway tonight for a quick and easy dinner. Not the best, not the worst. It is what it is... a quick and easy dinner.

I order a 'Steak and Cheese' with extra cheese.

The girl behind the counter says 'Do you want the Philly Cheesesteak'? I said 'Yes, but you can't give me one'. She said 'Yes, it's on the menu...', I said 'Just because you call it a Philly Cheesesteak doesn't make it a Philly Cheesesteak...'

She didn't understanid, so I said "I just want the Steak and Cheese, I'll wait until I go to Philadelphia to get a real Philly Cheesesteak."

The people in line behind me were originally from Philly and laughed and wholeheartedly agreed and appreciated me differentiating between their steak and cheese and a Philly Cheesesteak.

For the record, I've never had a real Cheesesteak as I've never actually been to Philly. So I have to make due with what I can actually get.

I was living in San Francisco back in the late 90's/early 2000's.  Was driving through the city and saw a shop and it said Philly Cheesesteaks and banged a hard U-turn.  Went in and ordered.....something was served to me on f'ing Sour Dough Bread with Carmalized Onions and I guess beef/steak and I was like....."you should be ashamed of yourself" and "take any mention of Philly Cheesesteak down off your f'ing windows!!".  It's amazing that anywhere, any place can put "Philly Cheesesteak" and thing it's actually a Philly Cheesesteak.  And yes, always been partial to Jim's on South Street....grew up knowing the owner and his sons.
