hey guys and gals , just got home and the only way this belt to ass beating could have been better is if the team was wearing kelly green.

My view on this is I think Mahomes has been slightly overrated, especially the last 3 years, with a Championship defense and Spags. And Hurts has been vastly underrated. And now the gap is virtually gone after besting him majorly in 2 out of 2 Superbowl appearances. I'm leaning Hurts at this moment based on actual performances in big games. And head to head.

As we know, Mahomes stats yesterday are empty stats and mostly done in garbage time and when game was over.

Don't be silly. I've defended Hurts from the get-go, think he's been highly underrated, but if KC wanted to swap QBs, I'd drive Jalen to the airport in a heartbeat.

The OPI on Brown, followed by the PF hit to the head on Goedert were the only two calls that you can argue.    Maybe... MAYBE, the late hit on Barkley, but frankly, that was a cheap shot taken against our best player.   And in a blowout type game, player safety matters.  I'm glad the Chiefs didn't take any more liberties after that.

I'd be pretty pissed if Hurts got a hand to his face and it didn't get called like what happened to Mahomes. But other than that and the two you mentioned, everything was fine.

And F it, Mahomes got enough weak flags I don't feel bad it wasn't called.

I am not sure whether Huff just got outplayed or did something to end up in Fangio's doghouse.  I don't think they will move on from him but he's going to have to compete.  The reality is that Hunt played because he performed and so did Smith and Sweat.  Huff did not produce on the field.  He could not get a pressure. He would get washed out on run plays.  He played his way out of opportunities.  He was playing close to 50% of the snaps at the beginning of the year.  His snap count went down because of he was not good.

I am not sure if Fangio thinks the problem was a lack of focus/effort and poor habits vs. just being beat out by other players.

He was coming on a little and then the injury and I think other guys just outplayed him and made strides. Willing to give him a clean slate next training camp and let him take that pass rushing specialist spot he did so well in New York.

It's not a silly conversation if you trust your eyes the last 2 times they met in a BIG GAME. Hurts shows up for BIG GAMES. We must all just come to grips with that. You don't trade anyone like that. And he's 3 years younger and can catch up with Superbowls. I watch Mahomes every game. He's a little overrated at this point.  Sorry. And been a huge beneficiary of 50/50 calls in key games and a Championship defense for 3 years now. People gotta stop getting caught up with stats with this guy. He's perfect for this team. Rather have Hurts at this exact moment and trajectory.

I have tried to preach confidence for weeks and months. There are too many Eagles fans with PTSD from decades of losing, previous let downs with teams that should have won and didn't.

  • We had those 80s high hopes in the 1980 SB, having finally beat the Cowboys and seeing that famous Montgomery TD run against the Cowboys. Only to lose the SB.
  • We had the 90s amazing defense and the exciting Randall, but that team never won even a playoff game. Let down, and we had to watch the Cowboys go and win 3 Super Bowls.
  • Reid brought winning but couldn't get over the hump. Heart breaking NFCCG losses, high expectations and a SB loss by only 3 points, with Spygate and the Pats getting in trouble for cheating. We also saw the Giants win 2 SBs during that time with goofy Eli and being a wild card team. Why can't we get over the hump? We deserve it.
  • 2017 team, we had a let down with Wentz getting hurt and wondering if we could go far. Even in the win, we were all holding our breath on the last hail mary play. I was thinking, you never know with Brady. The clock hit 0 and I paused, said to my friend is it really over? I wanted to be sure there wasn't some fluke flag called or something.
  • 2022 we were let down by that crappy field, Gannon's defense twice let Chiefs WRs wide open for easy TDs, and the refs bailed them out.
  • 2023 they had an epic collapse and it left a bad taste in our mouths continuing into this season.

So I get it. We're used to let downs. We're used to being anxious. We call it "passion" when guys are saying the game is over/season over when it's the 1st quarter of a regular season game and it's only 7-0. It's anxiety and over the top negativity.

It needs to end. This year, there was still some leftover feeling from last year's collapse. I blamed Siri mainly for that collapse, and seeing his immature antics and bad game management early, I thought he learned nothing. I called for them to fire him. He got national attention for yelling at his own fans and being immature. We worried they hadn't learned from last year. They started 2-2 and we worried going into the bye. They turned it around. Siri got more focused and balanced. Fangio's defense took off. The offense found its identity. DeJean inserted as a starter. Baun and Becton reclaimed their career here. The team began to not just scrape by with "ugly wins" and leave us thinking they're going to collapse again. No, they dominated teams. People worried about the Rams, Bengals, Ravens, Steelers, even the Commanders.

This team had swagger, confidence, played aggressive, bullied other teams into submission, all they talked about was team and winning. Every time there was some drama talked about (Barkley not getting records, Hurts/Brown about the passing game, Brown reading a book), the team stuck together and had each other's backs.

They were the best team in the NFL, and dominated in the playoffs. They dominated and embarrassed the Chiefs, who were already thinking 3peat and expected to win easily. They had no answer. Mahomes was rattled. Reid looked lost and shocked.

And we can put down the hurt and disappointments from the past. This team did not disappoint. They are set up well to repeat.

They are the best team in the NFL and Super Bowl Champions.

I never worried this season. You could tell the first four games that it was a "shakeout" cruise. New coordinators on both sides of the ball, but Mitchell was instant success, Baun took a few games, but they lost Dean, Huff never showed up, and no one noticed.

Figured once DeJean got healthy he'd replace Maddox, didn't expect him to be this good, but figured it was still a big upgrade.

Not saying I thought they'd go 12-1 down the stretch, more 10-3, but thought going into the playoffs they could beat anyone if they played their game.

I haven't rewatched anything, but in real-time it felt like Mahomes played the worst game of his career last night. By far. He was skittish, not able to decipher coverages, missed open receivers, took bad sacks, etc. Of course our defense forced a lot of those mistakes, but some were self-inflicted as well for a player of his caliber. Not sure if he had been dealing with something this year or not, but he was kinda bad all season long (relative to his usual self.)

I agree well deserved.  I personally would have given it to the D-Line as a group, but I doubt that complies with the NFL rules for MVP voting.

Hurts’ was definitely an MVP performance

That QB ranking list that @TEW and I discussed recently needs some serious revising.  Hurts clearly moved up into the top 5 and arguably has to be discussed in the same breath as Mahomes.

I disagree.

1 game does not change my evaluation of a player’s overall ability. Jalen was up and down on the season. He was inconsistent. I’m not going to put a player who is inconsistent into the top tier based on his peak level of play.

If Jalen can play like he has the last two games over an entire season, then absolutely he’d be in my top tier.

Hurts got hot when it counted, and ultimately that’s all that matters. But he needs to show this is his new baseline before he can be considered top 5 in my opinion. He certainly has the physical tools and accuracy to do it. Hopefully he has turned the corner with his decision making and indecisiveness, because when he has those two things locked up he’s a great player.

I still feel like last night was some type of acid induced fever dream. I cannot believe the dismantling that took place. It wasn't even just an ass whooping, every. single. Eagle. showed up. Dotson, Maddox, Elliott, Hunt, Sweat, Davis. EVERYONE played phenomenal.

I think there is a legitimate argument that the least effective player on the field was Rick Lovato.

You say potato.

I say Lovato.

Travis comes across as a major dbag.

My neighbor across the street, who is a Chief's fan, flew his Chief's flag all day yesterday. This morning, it's gone. But two houses up the street from him, there's a Kelly Green  Eagles flag flying on their flag pole under the American Flag.

"Party Up” has been the TD song for years. Someone in that organization is a big DMX fan.

I never was under the impression that Johnson was taking PED's the way Bonds was to clearly cheat the system. I could be wrong but it seemed more like he just was being careless and getting caught for some supplement that was on the banned list.

I thought early on Lane might of got caught trying to add good weight - he was like only bit above 300lbs when drafted.

So you want Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen who put up great stats but fail in playoffs and big moments pretty constantly? Bad take bro! You are blinded by hate or something. Regular season stats are immaterial. Winning always precedes that. Easily in top 5 now. He's a leader and makes big plays in big games is my evaluation right now.  Also has all the intangibles you want at QB.

I actually had to stop somewhere in the late 3rd quarter after the Devonta TD and make sure I wasn't dreaming. I have incredibly vivid dreams that feel so real and I've had so many dreams in my life of Philly teams winning titles in dramatic fashion and I'm sure it's real and it's happening. And I've even had dreams where in the dream I'm like "This can't be real, can it" and I'm like no it's real. And then eventually I wake up and I'm like damn.

So I was like I have to make sure this isn't a dream and started slapping myself just to make sure.

I like Hurts. He’s a good player and may be the perfect QB for this team.

But the Eagles were winning that game with Pickett or McKee at QB. Hell, they may have won that game with Ian Book.

Also loving Foles getting feisty, roasting Brady and having fun with it. He and Brady are friendly, made that commercial too.

You know Brady was more than likely loving the ass whooping KC and Mahomes took. It makes him and the Patriots look better.
