To follow up my dream scenario...Here's another doozy.

The Jets have pick 7. They are eating a TON of money to cut Rodgers. They might be interested in an extremely cost friendly QB for a few years.

32, 64, their conditional 3rd back from the Reddick trade and Pickett for pick 7 and 76.

IF the Eagles lose Sweat, Becton and Williams they are looking at potentially having 4 3rd round picks in 2026 and 2 4ths. I'm looking at those 2026 3rd round picks as bait this year.

I can't wait for football season to start.  Only a couple hundred days more.

IMG_5198.thumb.jpeg.f00cf8a2de433b7c2156979c6b44216f.jpegJust got back from the parade....was at Broad and Pine.  Left my house in Central Jersey 9:00 am, got to parking lot on 17th and Pine at 10:30.  Walked down and got a spot right in front.  crowd grew, but people were really friendly.....I don't drink so didn't bring anything but my daughter was like, wish I had something.  No problem people next to us gave her.  Guys on the other side smoking really fantastic pot.  They gave NYE a couple of hits, was awesome uppy weed, not sleep time.  Was definitely cold, nice in sun but windy.  Don't know how some of the crazy f's stayed out there for 10 hours plus.  Was a pain in the you know what getting out of the city but all in all, an absolutely fantastic time.

Eagles are gonna repeat next year. They're focused and still hungry.

Let me dream here. I posted about it in the old blog but going to do it again. This is all based off of historical trades and projections but...

-AJ Feely was traded for pick 35. Pick 35 in the 2025 draft has a value of 550. So let's assume a backup QB with starting potential has a value of 550-600.

-Cleveland, NYG and the Titans have picks 33-35. All of them could use a bridge starter. Kenny Pickett or Tanner McKee COULD be an option. I can imagine the Browns want a cheap option at QB while they are stuck with Watson on IR again. Kenny Pickett could make a world of sense for them.

-Eagles trade Kenny Pickett to the Browns for the 1st pick in the 2nd round which has a value of 580.

-With 32, 33 and 64 to work with, the Eagles have a draft value of 1440. Pick 7 is worth 1500, pick 8 is 1400.

-I want Mason Graham. He's looking like a borderline top 5 pick. He's worth that, but I'd imagine that QBs start to skyrocket after the combine and teams will be moving up to get their QB.

-If Mason Graham falls to pick 7, I'm trading some combination of 32, 33, 64 and a player to move up for Graham.

This will never happen, but it's fun to think about different scenarios. I do think there's a 100% chance that one of Pickett or McKee is moved. I also think the Browns are an ideal trade partner for one of them. Both are under control and extremely cheap for 2 more years (assuming they'd pick up Pickett's 5th year option). That's exactly the kind of situation the Browns need to be in while they have Watson's contract.

We aren’t getting a second rounder for freaking Picket. Stop it.

5th, maybe a 4th if we’re lucky.

Getting way ahead of ourselves there.

I just watched the NFL "Mic’d Up YouTube video.  I think it’s been posted here a few times… If you have not watched it, I highly recommend it. I had to laugh when I saw this part of it (after another Mahomes/Travis misconnect):

Kelce - "I got you 1-5”

Mahomes- "yeah, we’re good”

A. It's Howie, I'll never doubt his ability to fleece a team.

B. Teams like the Browns and Jets are up against it with their current QB cap situations.

C. Pickett has starting experience and is under control for 2 years.

D. My claim to fame besides being the EMB boob of the year was predicting the Bradford to the Vikings for a 1st when we still had the old boards. Don't doubt my crazy talk🤣

E. It's the offseason, we're going to have a lot of fun discussions about scenarios we think could happen.

My off-season plan (hope Howie's is better).

1. Hire Josh McCown as OC. We've seen the internal "continuity guy" before (Groh, Johnson), so I hope that's a lesson learned. McCown has played on like 1/3 of the teams in the NFL, has a lot of outside perspective that Patullo just doesn't have. McCown is as high upside as it gets at this point of the off-season. In a hypothetical world where Patullo was somehow a good OC, he gets scooped up as a HC the same as anyone else. I'm not letting continuity factor in at all.

2. Re-sign Baun. Whatever he wants will be good value relative to his value on D and ILBs being lower paid vs other positions. People are balking at the idea of paying Baun Bryce freaking Huff money are out of their minds.

3. Let Slay and Sweat walk. What to do with Slay is the hardest decision, IMO. But I would embrace uber-talented young CBs on rookie contracts (and Rodgers competing with Ringo if Rodgers doesn't require too much $) and not risk 35 YO Slay's play falling off a cliff. We saw the best version of Sweat in the SB and that's the version I'd prefer to remember him by; he's a frustrating player a lot of the time and has snap count limitations.

4. Make fair but less than open market level offers to Milton and Becton. Think Becton will accept and Williams walks. But who knows.

5. Extend Jurgens. Extend Blankenship if the money's right.

6. Trade Pickett and Huff. Eagles will probably dart throw a QB late in the draft and try to stagger their backup QB timelines; Pickett and McKee being a year off is weird (especially considering McKee is better anyway). Huff has more value to another team than the Eagles. Think he would trade at a discount but still return something useful.

7. Sign Khalil Mack. These kinda signings have a low hit rate, but this feels way more like Suh/Joseph than Robert Quinn. Gonna have an extremely young edge group with Sweat likely leaving, Graham probably retiring, and Huff being completely incompatible with Fangio.

8. BPA in the draft, lean DT => Edge => OL.

Would trade him for a ham sandwich

Wearing no Eagles gear.  Looking completely miserable.

Couldn’t find the same green laser, but I cleaned it up. 😂

We're just fans, we can get as far ahead as we like. Nothing wrong with some confidence. The team is focused, and have a one game at a time mentality.

I have tinnitus from my days in the Army. Some days it's not bad, some days it gives me migraines. It's not migraine level, but it's getting close.

Would not want to be on cleanup duty after the parade

Jurgens and Blankenship should get done quickly. Baun and Becton will be back. Keeping Williams will be tough. Hopefully Howie can get it done

No chance they keep Williams. I also don’t think he’ll be worth the price tag once he’s not paired up with Jalen Carter.

Can sign Darnold without losing an asset. Or rogers. Or cousins. All off whom are better.

just do him a solid and release him

The whole point of what I'm suggesting it is because the Jets are staring at $49 million in dead cap from cutting Rodgers. Deshaun Watson's cap hit for 2025 is $72 million. Neither the Jets or the Browns are in a position to sign any of the players mentioned. Kenny Pickett or Tanner McKee offer them EXTREMELY cheap options at QB. Neither team is going for a SB, but I'd imagine they want to be competitive. Having a cheap veteran QB goes a long way.

Surgery updates should be coming in the next couple days.

Kelce was wearing an Eagles sweater under his winter coat. You can see some of it here.
