Can thank the idiot in az named Gannon who probably coveted him

So, he gets us a 3rd round pick flip due to being incompetent at his job while breaking the rules... now he gets us a 4th round comp pick.   And all it cost us was a Super Bowl loss.  Could be worse, I guess.  I still think he needs to be gutted.

The issue with Milton Williams, and the reason to let someone else overpay him, is that it seems highly possible/likely that his success is due to playing next to Jalen Carter. And the best evidence o

As a receiver yes as s blocker he needs work ..

For sure but the positive thing about a player like that is its easier to teach them to block and improve there than it is with the catches he makes... I'm not saying that will happen though

Since they drafted Sweat they drafted Nolan Smith & Jalyx Hunt

Since they drafted Williams they drafted Davis, Ojomo & Carter

Since they signed Rodgers they drafted Mitchell & DeJean

The replacements have already been drafted.  Of course you want to keep that pipeline going

Yep. This.

Kellen moore must have learned from Howie to not doing anything 😂😂

The mantra around here since the Superbowl was Baun is the #1 priority, Sweat and Williams will cost too much, and Slay was a fun ride but time to move on. Soooo why is everyone upset right now?  Y'all are really that upset about missing out on Isaiah Rodgers?

I know the 4th comp pick for Sweat, what’s the other 4th comp pick for?

Doubt it's 2 fourths.sweat is a 4th and the other contracts don't add up to a 4th, more like a 6th

They better resign Rick Lovato or I'm going to flip the f out.

They would be spending money if they had it... They're over the cap I believe... Moore should have passed on that dumpster fire... He probably would have had his pick of available hc jobs next year... I feel like he only took it because next year isn't guaranteed either...

I actually love the first day/week of free agency when other teams make desperate overpayments and then Howie waits for smart deals.

A big piece here is the major improvement in drafting especially on defense that allows you to not only have young starters in place, but young depth ready to step up. You don't want to be desperate in free agency and need "a splash." Over the years Howie has made certain splashes when he felt it was worth it. We know he's not afraid to be bold and aggressive. They also have made bold moves and have star players under contract so this is the "boring" year to be patient.

Exactly! Howie is doing exactly what he should be right now... I would rather have Smith and Carter signed in the future than Williams and Sweat right now

I hope so, and it’s certainly possible. But our schedule is going to be very tough & think we might see some regression from our pass rush this year. Also, while I like Patullo as OC he is still a ?

The tough schedule is going to keep everyone on their toes and battle hardened.

I wouldn’t say I’m upset but I did think Rodgers was worth keeping around.

I like that idea. It's a little incentive to resign your own FAs without asking for hometown discount.

That's my thinking. A hometown discount is a punishment to both player and team, currently. And one team players build stories and narrative and connections between players and cities.

Everyone isn't. Many fans understand this. There are some fans who either haven't paid attention or just want some dopamine rush of news on day 1 of free agency, they want some kind of excitement.

Howie fed that need over the last few years. Trading for AJ Brown, trading up for Carter, signing Barkley, extensions to our core players, bringing back CJGJ, drafting Q and DeJean, finding gems in Baun and Becton.

They could win the next 4 Super Bowls in a row and some fans will still never be happy.

The D is young in the right places and the O is paid in the right places.. I'd love some deals to be made for sure, but those prices out there for mid players.

Also last year they wanted to trade Rodgers because there was so much talent at corner, now it's a big deal that he's gone.

I mean Tony pollard netted Dallas a 6th isn’t gainwell better then him?

Is he though?

Sounds like the Slay to Pitt isn't a done deal. Maybe we have another situation with him like last time.

Not sure why, but I am feeling a deal for Micah Parsons. Not sure it fits Howie's MO... but I smell it in the air.

The Rodgers signing, which happened a few hours ago, is not reflected in the NFL.com signing tracker, while the Sweat signing, which happened maybe half an hour ago tops, is.  https://www.nfl.com/news/2025-nfl-free-agency-tracker-latest-signings-trades-contract-info-for-all-32-teams

Is there something about the Rodgers signing which is not final?

Nothing is final till Weds.

Oh, so NOW Slay makes his Twitter private.
