Howie must he eyeing a pretty large move here and needs every penny. I wouldn't mind Hendrickson for the right deal. Team is pretty young on the defense right now, which is great. But need another good vet on the line. Patience it is.

That one stings. We need depth there, and heck, we may need a starter there at least for the beginning of the year because you cant rely on Dean. That was extremely cheap. 

But Howie told us to be patient, so I will. 

Defense being wiped out.  Hope the young guys can step up.

First world problems when the number 1 defense still has all of it’s best players and we get to focus strictly on our role players and depth.

Weird phrasing by McLane. I’m not sure why a Baun extension would shut the door on Burks. It’s not like the two deals are similar at all.

Yeah, the key thing with the youth movement on defense is having Vic & not losing any of the defensive position coaches. So I feel pretty comfortable with whatever decisions they make there because the coaching & developing of players ability has proven itself

Can someone please explain the Goedert contract to me?

It looks like he is due $15.5M in cash as an option bonus.  I am guessing the cap hit if we keep him ($12M) isn't much different if we trade him ($11M).  Is he difficult to trade because of the option bonus?  Wouldn't the other team need to renegotiate his deal just like we want to?  Thanks in advance.

Yeah Burks is not a huge loss, he played well filling in for Dean but he's not irreplaceable. There will probably be a LB or two out there after this wave that can give the same level of play for the same price

Exactly. He basically reupped for same price as last year. Good special teamer as well. Think he earned to have "the opportunity to start" here. With no one concretely in  position to take it. The depth on this defense got hit hard today. Will see. Hate to have too much turnover with the great chemistry they had. Must be something else brewing here. This is the youngest team in the league right now. Can take Lovato out and it gets younger. Ha.

Again thanks for the Super Bowl and it was a magical run but many of these guys played above their level in the playoffs and won’t play that way next season over 17 games
