Hargrave coming back would be nice.

Pass. It's the youth movement. Draft a DT, and add a value free agent who's younger.

I still like your posts. People are loyal to Howie I get it.

I don’t think it is loyalty so much as trusting his track record and judgment.

Yea I feel like DT has 3 guys who need to play and a rookie is fine. DE could use a reliable vet for snaps

Tryon is going to Cleveland and Hargrave to Minnesota.

He's got a fairly crap track record the season coming off of Super Bowls.

Exactly if the season started tomorrow I’d be critical but I’ve seen enough:

1. FA signings at various points before and after the draft,

2 Draft day trades for vets

3. Training camp trades

to know that evaluating the team now as if it’s the opening day roster is foolish

Here's the ultimate plot twist. Eagles trade Steen. And sign Becton. Thus, Green is the new Steen as backup swing guard with tackle experience. Then everyone here is back to being off the ledge. 😄 And I will say the longer Becton is unsigned, the better chance he has of coming back here.

That is certainly a possible scenario.  I would not be at all surprised if it happens.

I am curious to see what kinda money Hargrave got. I'd have liked to have him back for a year or two.

Minuscule data set.  The laws of statistics don’t support you in coming to that conclusion.

We still have Steen for 2 seasons on a third rounder deal. I don’t think we need to dump him to justify re-signing Bectob

Not dump … trade for value.

I’d be surprised if a move isn’t made at CB this week. I’m not sure who that is

What would they get in return for a guy who could step in and play that well at RG?

I wouldn't mind calais Campbell if he wanted to ring chase, by all accounts seems like a good dude and still playing pretty well. Can still draft a DT

Keeping Steen is value. Green is terrible and it would be equally terrible to put our eggs in that basket for depth. Not every Stoutland reclamation project has panned out like Becton. There have been a few notable failures and Green has been abysmal at the NFL level thus far. As basically a "throw in" in a trade, we get a chance to see for ourselves why he has been so bad and find out if a wake-up call can help fix him. At least with Becton, it was moving to a position where his strengths would pay off. Green is already a guard, so he's been failing at the position we will be evaluating him at --- so it's just not very hopeful.

So... what safety in the draft are we salivating over that we won't get?

Nick Emmanwori.

Would love him at pick 40

At this point we need to spend the entire draft on D, with maybe a couple picks going to OL and RB for the offense.

Could use a TE if goedert isn’t back

Listening to the Philly Special pod that talked about the trade and neither Sheil nor EJ Smith are Sydney Brown fans. They ranked Ojomo, Ringo, Hunt, Trotter, and Brown in order from who they trust the most to least and both ranked them in that order. And EJ Smith said he had Sydney Brown well below the others last.

Can't say I disagree. Both understand why the Eagles made the trade, but both said if they had to give it a thumbs up or thumbs down as a trade they'd give it thumbs down simply because the Eagles lost a good and productive player.

Both said they wouldn't expect the Eagles to be in on any of the top safeties considering they traded CJGJ to save money so it wouldn't make sense to go out and try to spend on one, but this was before Jesse Palmer put out the report that the Eagles were in on Reid, so it was funny listening with that knowledge.

I expected that before free agency started.

Pretty much.

Jahdae Barron, I think he projects better inside.

F. Johnson is forgotten, but that guy held things down for a few games. I want him back.

Bringing in an older CB on medium+ money doesn’t make any sense if the Eagles are confident in Ringo. He’s had 2 years in the system, played pretty solid as a rookie and in limited snaps this year.

We’re most likely looking at a 4th or 5th round pick at corner along with Ricks, who has also been pretty decent when given an opportunity.

But really, I’m expecting Ringo to surprise a lot of people. We could have the best trio of corners in the NFL if he plays up to even 80% of his talent.
