At this point we need to spend the entire draft on D, with maybe a couple picks going to OL and RB for the offense.

OT, C, RB, and a TE are needed. Zero depth at those positions.

DT, DE, LB, CB, and S on defense.

I expect Howie to work the board with trades even more than normal.

I absolutely hate trading CJGJ. I loved his playmaking ability and he wasn’t a cap liability. I just don’t get it. We were set at safety and now it’s somewhat of a question mark.

Bringing in an older CB on medium+ money doesn’t make any sense if the Eagles are confident in Ringo. He’s had 2 years in the system, played pretty solid as a rookie and in limited snaps this year.

We’re most likely looking at a 4th or 5th round pick at corner along with Ricks, who has also been pretty decent when given an opportunity.

But really, I’m expecting Ringo to surprise a lot of people. We could have the best trio of corners in the NFL if he plays up to even 80% of his talent.

I like Ringo too but he is completely unproven. If their fall back options for Ringo are Ricks and a day 3 pick that is extremely risky. That would be perfectly fine for a rebuilding team but not one that is supposed to be a SB contender.

Listening to the Philly Special pod that talked about the trade and neither Sheil nor EJ Smith are Sydney Brown fans. They ranked Ojomo, Ringo, Hunt, Trotter, and Brown in order from who they trust the most to least and both ranked them in that order. And EJ Smith said he had Sydney Brown well below the others last.

Can't say I disagree. Both understand why the Eagles made the trade, but both said if they had to give it a thumbs up or thumbs down as a trade they'd give it thumbs down simply because the Eagles lost a good and productive player.

Both said they wouldn't expect the Eagles to be in on any of the top safeties considering they traded CJGJ to save money so it wouldn't make sense to go out and try to spend on one, but this was before Jesse Palmer put out the report that the Eagles were in on Reid, so it was funny listening with that knowledge.

I am right there with them. I love Brown as a depth piece and special teamer. As a starting S his lack of football IQ and positional awareness in coverage are a recipe for disaster. He is still young and the coaching is a lot better now but I thought he was a borderline disaster in 2023.

$8M is a rounding error?

Rounding from $8 billion … 0.1%. A penny for every $10.00.

Keeping Steen is value. Green is terrible and it would be equally terrible to put our eggs in that basket for depth. Not every Stoutland reclamation project has panned out like Becton. There have been a few notable failures and Green has been abysmal at the NFL level thus far. As basically a "throw in" in a trade, we get a chance to see for ourselves why he has been so bad and find out if a wake-up call can help fix him. At least with Becton, it was moving to a position where his strengths would pay off. Green is already a guard, so he's been failing at the position we will be evaluating him at --- so it's just not very hopeful.

Green will take a season plus to become valuable … if he ever does become valuable.  So Steen is here for the 2025 season regardless

Leonard Floyd is 32 and has had over 8.5 sacks each of the last 5 years. Has been on 3 teams the last 3 years and just cut by the Niners. Why can't the guy get a steady contract with production like that? If he can still produce 8 sacks going on 33, I'm all for that kind of player rotating in. He had a 1-year $7 million with the Bills and then a 2-year $20 million with the Niners. Could he be had for the contract the Bills gave him 2 years ago?

Yeah I've been pulling for signing him like 3 years in a row and the Eagles just don't seem interested.  Must be like another Gardner-Johnson type.

Floyd could be Jason Babin-ing out there, chasing sacks

Gainwell the starter? Najee signed with the Chargers. Is there going to be a bidding war with DK to get 14?

Pickens wears 14

I believe we just have to trust that the young guys will step up.  In the beginning of the season, not many of us had any faith/trust in Nolan Smith, Milton Williams, or Moro Ojomo.  They all stepped up.  Q and Coop both stepped up.  To quote Saquon, "Let the young guys eat."

Right, a bidding war to buy it from Pickens. I have a feeling DK will pay for it. He's been 14 since his Ole Miss days.

Who's ready for Damar Hamlin to be an Eagle. He might bring some heart to the defense!

Floyd immediately went to Atlanta

Pickens alluded to changing his number to 1 on social media.

On offense we need backups.  On defense we need starters and heavy contributors.

I must admit I thought there's a limit of 32 in any given year, but this is for the upcoming draft isn't it, this isn't what we're getting for this years free agency, that get's decided post Draft.

Yes this is based on last years free agents. There is a year delay. Added in are the minority hiring comp picks in rd 3
