Getting our Fullback back.. it's true.  change his number to something in the 40's so he doesn't have to report.

Dallas Goedert, you are a Charger or Colt!

Now that it's the offseason, maybe we should just get a fullback.

Is it the markets or are teams just deciding to throw money at players?

Lots of stupid money being thrown around so far.  While not exciting I like that Howie has us out of it.

Putting Coop at S is negating his strengths.

Not really. The slot corner is very close to being a box safety. One of DeJean's strengths is run support. Another is flat coverage. Also, his play recognition is through the roof.

Find it ridiculous that people suggest or predict Cooper moving to safety. Not happening.

White guys can't play corner.  Duh.

First order of business when the new year starts. Re-sign the guy who tore his acl and can’t leave. Going well so far lol

The fact that Gainwell is signing with the Steelers on a one-year deal tells me the Eagles see Shipley as capable enough to step right into his spot; I doubt the Steelers are paying him more than $2M or so for the season, but we'll see.  It will be very interesting to see what the Eagles decide to do at RB2 and RB3, given that Shipley was a rookie last season and got very few quality reps at RB this past season.  It's a deep RB draft, but do the Eagles roll with Barkley and two other RBs with very minimal NFL experience?  I get the feeling there will be an experienced RB brought in at a low cost.

A.J. Dillon would be an interesting signing.  He's been medically cleared recently after missing 2024 with neck stingers, so he'd be low-cost for sure.

I think the Eagles are looking at the draft for an upgrade.

They know they got lucky Barkley didn’t miss any time and the offense would be in a lot of trouble relying on Gainwell and Shipley to handle 25 rushes per game.

I think they want starter quality #2. Take the load off Barkley a bit and be able to handle an injury to Saquon.

The good news is that this RB class is so deep that you can get a starter quality RB on the third day of the draft. It’ll be harder than with a top 50 pick obviously, but this is doable with the talent available.

There’s one really good one out there

They’re the same thing.

OK I'm going to ask a question, because it's been bugging me since these things started being posted, that thing contains the line "height 6037 RAS score 5.87"

What the f' does that mean? It's not inches, millimeters or cubits, so Six thousand and thirty seven what? Ears of barley? Sheep weiners? M&M's? Can someone explain it.

Just seems like teams are giving out a lot of money and messing up the market when they really don't need to

Yup. This is another one that makes me think Goedert scoffs at a pay cut

It's all coming together. Let the number roulette begin!

Whoa, that's more than I thought a team would give him. Can't blame the Eagles for not being in on that.

Slay to Steelers official. 1 year 10m fully guaranteed. Really sad he's gone. Just feels weird to join a random team that has no shot to win for one year and just retire. I was really hoping he'd find a way to stay.

It's a "keeping up with the Joneses" sort of thing.  One team does it, and then they all start going the same direction... and boom.   You've got yourself an investment bubble.  That's why negotiation during the free agency period never works well for the teams that do it.  That's why the focus is always best on drafting well and resigning your own.   Going to the free agent market always, always, always means an overpay for a mediocre talent... or in the case of Bryce Huff... not even that!!!

Their starting QB hasn't played a snap in the NFL yet and had significant questions as to whether his college team carried him instead of the other way around.

No way I would have given Slay $10 million fully guaranteed. Enjoy Pittsburgh Slay.
