He's also had knee issues the last 2 years. I guess that's why he isn't signed, because he was starting left tackle his first 3 years and the Browns picked up his 5th year.

The work load of a backup OT should be reasonably knee friendly.

Wut? Peters definitely had a dropoff

As long as he retires when father time catches up to him and not go the route Peters did

@vikas83 or @LeanMeanGM would know better than me, but I don’t think they can afford to have him retire anytime soon based off his contract and the ramifications of it

It took me awhile to understand what you were saying, but eventually it registered … two for two equals four.

All I know,is this amon st Brown the day or two after they beat the Vikings in week 18 went on his podcast to discuss this and said that they needed to change the rule. So i feel like the lions might have felt this way before the outcomes of games. if I remember correctly, he said some players around the league that felt that rule should have be changed.

There's nothing wrong with the rule.

The context was losing BG (and others concerned about losing CJGJ) for the defense. Offense also has Dickerson, Mailata, AJ Brown.

The "need” isn’t for improved trash talking,  but rather to have something for BG to do.

Except that's an automatic first down...

How about they just stop with the automatic first downs?  The penalty is what the penalty is, and if it results in a first down, so be it.  If not... oh well, so sad.

So spot foul?

The Defensive Holding one is nonsense, if they did that say hello to defenders holding like crazy every third and long as soon as they think they're beaten, because they know at worst they get a do over on the down.

This is a non-starter. Defensive holding will go back to 1976 levels. We will get a league full of Ricky Manning Juniors. It will turn the NFL into 1990s Jersey Devil clutch and grab. Offense will go down 5 points a game.

Anyone who wants this changes hates football as entertainment.

I’m not going to go into this discussion again, but I’m curious to see how close this vote is. I don’t think it passes but curious to see where teams sit on it.

I'm on a call, but Lane's contract has been restructured so many times that it is a monster to understand. Plus it needs to be updated for the new guarantees. But directionally -- yes, if Lane were to retire, the cap charge would be over $30mm at least.

Wow. Let's hope father time stays away

Lanes contract has been loaded with void years that has been a dead cap sword of Damocles over the Eagles for at least 5 years now, a few years ago a career ending injury for him would have seen a dead cap hit bigger than Wentz.

I can see why the lions want the rule change about defensive holding and illegal contact lol

In case you were not sure about how massive a group of losers the Detroit Lions franchise really is, we get this wildcard BS too. 🤡

The NFC North did not win a playoff game. They were 0-3. They were not special.

They did get 8 games against the AFC South and NFC South.

It may have been a bit unfair that the Lions were the 1 seed but the schedule rotates. Good for them. Handing out extra rewards to the Vikings too based off of last year is pathetic.

The 2009 Saints won the SB. In 2010 they had to go play a terrible Seattle team in Seattle. They sucked. They lost. Nothing to see there.

If you can't beat a 7-9 team on the road, you are not winning the SB anyway.

Those 4 NFC West teams had the easiest schedules in the NFC. The next easiest schedule was those loser Saints.

That joke of a Saints team went 3-2 vs the 26-40 combined NFC West counting the playoff game. 🤡

Also good. Really liking these Lions proposals.

This playoff ranking rule change goes around the houses every few years.  The last time it came up, the NFL felt it was important to emphasise a club winning a division as more important than pure record ranking.  If a division has a harder schedule or the teams are evenly matched, their record may be lower.  Some other teams may want strength of schedule then taken into account, and it gets super messy to stop teams meddling.

JP had a dropoff in his late 30s and early 40s,  34-36, still a different question. By 41 though, he was the hottest of hot garbage as an OL and it was sad to watch.

TWO TROPHIES.  This is just an amazing time for Eagles fans.   We've come a long way.   Can't wait for the #3.

Not necessarily.  A 5 yard penalty for defensive holding... and its just 5 yards (or make it 10 yards like offensive holding).  But, if its 3rd and 12... it becomes either 3rd and 7 or 3rd and 2, depending on if its 5 or 10 yards for the penalty.

@just relaxThoughts on Josaiah Stewart? Feels very Eagles-ish.

Love him. He really fits Fangio's scheme, a la Hunt, Smith. Undersized. Very quick and strong. Relentless. He about wore Alabama out in the Championship game. Player comp - BG minus 15 pounds.

Must be Canadian

A little more than a month out and my guys still haven't changed. I'm all in on Pearce or Nolen at 32. Even a slight move up to get ahead of the Commies if they're ready to take one of em.

I'm kind of wondering what type of DE we might be looking at.  Seems like we have a lot of 235-250 pound guys speed ball type guys.  Wondering if we'd be looking at someone bigger like Jack Sawyer who's really stout against the run but can also get after the QB...

Huff and an 8th rounder should do it.  What do you think Jax would want in return?
